The definition of a troll. Should we invoke rule 14? You should register, so those disinclined to participate in such debates can avoid your username entirely. That said, any philosophical ramifications can be set aside, this isn't a matter of all life is precious, do you eat X. House cats were domesticated as companion pets, just as bovines were domesticated as food stock. They were created by man for a purpose. And more importantly, while there are people in this world who eat bugs, it's not culturally accepted here. Just as 'hunting' and killing an animal that doesn't avoid humans and likely was someone's pets (companion & property) isn't. They broke a law. One that showed them to be fairly cold-hearted, and they did so in a manner that outraged others by rather stupidly gloating about their actions in a public forum. I find it hard to believe that you actually BELIEVE they don't deserve their obligatory slap on the wrist punishment for doing so. (Apr 3, 2015 | post #22)
Admins don't delete anything. There are no editors anymore, either. News is automatically aggregated from the web. It's all automated now, report any post, and it's gone. You named them, they'll flag this, and this will be gone soon. You want to get these issues heard, write something unbiased and neutral, and send it to the newspaper. if they won't publish it, write a commentary on that, with examples of multiple things they've refused to publish and send it to local news outlets. You can then watch them all continue not to care, and we get to see celebrity antics, and accusations of discriminatory conduct, while the news doesn't report anything on the Trans-Pacific Partnership being negotiated in secret, transcanada trying to steal native owned land with government easements to build a pipeline, and the constant militarization of police forces. The news isn't news anymore, it's a magic act. Sleight of hand. They only show you what distracts you from any of the things that are really important, and if you expect those in power to care about what anyone else wants, you've not been paying attention for far too long. If someone would start a news blog about events in the Forrest City area, and stick to the facts (meaning no unproven rumors, or hearsay, with as little political or personal bias as possible), they could quite feasibly put a serious hurting on the Times-Herald (if not potentially put it out of business). And since news posts aren't deleted, why not make an effort to try to change things as opposed to simply complaining about the way they are? (Jan 24, 2015 | post #5)
I am way to fat and way too lazy to be on dope. And way too broke for that matter. But you keep rocking those some ignorant attempts at insults as every other cretin and eventually someone will care, my little clownshoe! In other news, I heard scuba dawg was at the bar friday, and didn't even say hello. >_> (Dec 24, 2014 | post #25)
A lot of us are here to have intelligent conversation about meaningful TOPICS. Similar to what the site's name implies. There's a reason most of the registered posters have moved on to other forums, or quit posting entirely, this detritus of this locale isn't worth wading through for a good swim in the sea of knowledge when there are cleaner shores so much more easily accessible. Yeah, all the proceeds go to the SFC Elves. It's like toys for tots, but stays local. (Dec 18, 2014 | post #2)
I felt that way with the old management, especially after hearing things from people who worked there. Didn't know it had changed hands, may have to go check it out. Finally got around to trying Moctezuma Grill last night. Makes me wonder how Ameca and Don Jose are even still open. (Jan 20, 2014 | post #51)
I've become rather fond of JoJo's seafood hut on HWY 1 north by calvary and Edwin Houston and all. Good catfish, good prices, though the decor is clearly low budget, and they close up really early. (Jan 15, 2014 | post #28)
I knew what you meant, but if you have to explain the joke, it's usually not very funny. :/ (Dec 26, 2013 | post #20)
got him to do what? And did you get pictures? (Dec 25, 2013 | post #17)
I am an agnostic athiest. That guy is a troll, but his joke is based on the idea of the typical anti - theist athiest. Just as all Christians are not members of the Westboro Baptist church, and all Muslims aren't terrorists, we're not all the same either. I expected better of you, scuba. I mean, when someone has a contrasting opinion I thought we were supposed to question their sexuality, racial preferences, and prowess in bed, before accusing them of drug addiction and misusing the concept of karma to justify out hostility. I mean that's how everyone else does it around here, shouldn't we do the same? >_> (Dec 25, 2013 | post #15)
I once met a girl who worked at babydolls, whose right leg was in an air boot. I now know why, I guess. (Aug 18, 2013 | post #7)
He was, and he enjoyed making up random ridiculous stories for folks. We can only hope he will do so again one day. (Oct 12, 2012 | post #69)
nuttier hasn't been on Topix in almost a year, I can confirm that beyond a shadow of a doubt. (Oct 12, 2012 | post #61)
