The Key Objectives of the program are: •To provide students with an in-depth understanding of the theory and practice of global economics and Cultural Diplomacy, as well as the basics and foundations of how the fields work together. •To explore the historic and recent developments in international economics and cultural diplomacy and to prepare students for future developments in the evolving global economy. •To analyze the developments in the field of cultural diplomacy and to create and apply strategies of how cultural diplomacy can further influence, support, and strengthen the activity of the private sector. •To enable students to develop successful projects applying the practice of cultural diplomacy and international economics. •To analyze the strategic and ethical foundations of corporate social responsibility programs and corporate philanthropy with regards to Cultural Diplomacy Setting Description: The MA in Cultural Diplomacy and the Global Economy is a two-year program consisting of two semesters at the Babes-Bolyai University and two at BBU Berlin Campus in cooperation with the ICD in Berlin. The program follows the conventional university structure of a two-year course divided into four different semesters. Students are offered an array of optional courses to accompany mandatory courses, professional training opportunities, and the final thesis. The first semester in Berlin will consist of three mandatory courses and two optional, whilst during the second semester, students will undertake a professional development and training program at the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy in Berlin, where each student can immediately apply in practice what they learned in theory in the first semester. The third semester will take place on the campus Babeş-Bol yai University in Cluj, Romania, and will consist of three mandatory courses and two optional courses. During the fourth semester, students will produce a final thesis on a related topic of their choice. This unique combination of study at two different institutions provides the crucial support and experience that a student in Cultural Diplomacy and the Global Economy needs in order to flourish in today’s globalized world. The structure and geographical division of the courses provides students with access to different cultures that will enhance cultural awareness and understanding of different political and economic norms, as well as providing a useful platform on which to broaden the areas of study offered within the program. Western countries are engaging with Multiculturalism policies on a significant basis and are continually amending and reinventing to fit the policies to an ever changing world. The ICD recognizes the opportunity for Cultural Diplomacy to serve as a bridge between people of different cultures. Programul de vara Young Leaders Forum

In perioada 17 iunie – 14 septembrie Institutul pentru Diplomatia Culturala din Berlin va organiza programul „Young Leaders Forum” destinat studentilor din toate colturile lumii. De-a lungul verii vor avea loc mai multe conferinte internationale, majoritatea in Berlin, dar si la Londra, Bruxelles, Viena si Helsinki. Durata fiecarei conferinte va fi de 6-7 zile, unde un grup de aproximativ 30-40 de studenti vor dezbate asupra evolutiilor recente in lumea culturala, precum si impactul deciziilor economice si politice la nivel global. Pe durata conferintelor, participantii vor avea posibilitatea de a participa intr-un program interactiv unde vor putea adresa intrebari directe conferentiarilor. Personaje din scena politica mondiala vor oferii discursuri la aceste conferinte, ceea ce va oferii sansa studentilor si tinerilor profesionali de a stabilii legaturi directe si de a extinde retelele profesionale. De asemenea, vor fi organizate activitati culturale si sociale prin intermediul carora participantii vor avea sansa de a se bucura de o sedere cat mai placuta. These modules have been designed to provide a balance between historical, current and future perspectives. Topics range from nation branding and unilateral cultural diplomacy to contemporary German foreign policy, international organizations, Contemporary European Politics and so forth. The courses will also explore the theoretical elements in modules like: Theories of International Relations and Comparative Legal and Political Systems.
