Georgia should switch to latin alphabet?

Georgian alphabet really fits the language, once you learn the alphabet it's easy to pronounce every word correctly. The horror of all the spelling of in the English language is avoided completely.  (Jan 7, 2013 | post #3)

Riot Police Break Up Opposition Protest in Georgia

The protesters were extremists who showed up wanting a fight. They were told that they needed to clear out from the main square, a military parade had to come through the next day to mark the day of Georgian Independence. They were told that they could protest in any other place they wanted, just not that spot, on that particular day. They chose to ignore the officials, so forces went in to disperse the protesters. When it was over, two police officers were killed. Tensions were high, some of the police personnel acted in a brutal manner, when video evidence was reviewed four of them lost their job for overstepping boundaries. The government sent a clear message that such brutality is unacceptable. In Russia when protesters are brutally dispersed, the FSB officers get promotions, and medals pinned on their chest. All these Russian patriots, instead of worrying about Georgian Democracy, need to divert their attention to their own failed Democracy in Russia.  (Jul 15, 2011 | post #33)

Corrupted consul of RA in Batumi. Watch video!

Georgian police does not do anything for private order. If he was detained there must have been a good reason. If he was detained, there was a charge. How can a Georgian public servant make an Armenian citizen sign a document that he will not apply to Armenian consulate to straighten out his legal identity papers? Even if Georgian official is corrupt, and he is acting on behalf of Armenian consulate, he would not create paperwork that proves he is a criminal. I am sure I must be misunderstanding something in this situation.  (Jun 6, 2011 | post #10)

official meeting between J. Biden and M. Saakashvili in Rome

Georgia is putting in the work, because it wants some assurance of security from Russian war machine. A threat that is very real for Georgia. Old Europe is looking for any excuse not to antagonize Russia, and throw Georgia under the bus. Better not to step up and do anything for Georgia in order to have economic partnership with Russia! Why risk and do difficult political lifting, only to anger Russian petrol state with Nuclear Weapon? Georgian Democracy, and people not so very important. Georgia, a cute little country, with a very successful experiment of Democracy and Economy building, corruption eradication, all these successful reforms came about through president Saakashvili's efforts. I think yes, if out troops in Afghanistan help protect Georgian sovereignty, it will protect Georgian democracy. Georgia is happy to contribute to the security of the NATO alliance, and it's western allies, and it does expect at the very least political efforts from the west to protect it from Russia.  (Jun 6, 2011 | post #2)

Abkhazia has more reasons to be recognized than Kosovo - ...

The only argument these regions of Abhazia, and Ossetia have for Independence, is that Russia wants to keep military bases there. Today Russia is a disgrace, not a country.  (Jun 6, 2011 | post #95)

Azerbaijan's oil makes EU silent on possible war

lol. What are you talking about? China is keeping Tibet under occupation, killing and oppressing their culture, Taiwan is under threat of a Chinese invasion, North Korea is killing it's own citizens though starvation, and prison labor camps.. Russia has been at war with the north caucuses for 20 years now, even invading the Republic of Georgia in 2008, and is now keeping 20% of that country under occupation. You blame the USA but it was Europe, specifically the French that spearheaded the charge into Libya. The Europeans are just pussies with no real men to fight wars. So they kiss up to the USA war machine to do the fighting for them, and then bash the USA, pretending they had nothing to do with it. The middle east Jihadists have been killing innocent people in the name of religion in Indo china, India, middle east, Africa. Wake up, the world is at War. Face facts, pick a side, and stop being a hypocrite.  (Apr 24, 2011 | post #26)

Blackmailing on high level

Yeah, this is Putin KGB fighting against Georgian success. Pathetic attempt, this is the best they can do! Soon Democracy will spread from Georgia further in all directions. Russia is an Evil empire, and Democracy is our only weapon! We're not going to give it up, we are winning, and victory is inevitable! It is only a question of time!  (Apr 12, 2011 | post #3)

SaakashviliÂ’s vision of democracy...

God bless Saakashvili! He fought and won the battle with corruption in Georgia! He destroyed it at it's core! Plenty of corrupt government officials are now behind bars! Including some from Saakashvili's own party. Thieves in law are all now in Jail, or on the run, they all ran away to Russia! Georgia has more Democracy and freedom than any other country in the Region. While not perfect, the Georgian government is not just adoption into law, but implementing further Democratic and economic reforms. Saakashvili made Government smaller, he fought all the corrupt government officials when he was voted in by the people! Some Georgian's forget the Country they lived in before Saakashvili came. It was a model of a failed African state! Western analysts say that Georgia is a miracle! Today we have people from former soviet Republics coming to Georgia too see the Miracle that Georgians were able to perform. Kirgizstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, even Russia. To try an learn from Saakashvili and his Government, on how to fight corruption, to understand how to bring their own countries out of anarchy, and lawlessness.  (Apr 12, 2011 | post #2)
