Moving to St. Charles

Depending on where you live in St. Charles, there are a number of pre-schools that you can pick from. My daughter is going to a pre-school called Little Guppy and absolutely loves it. They also run a Kindergarten that is certified for several school districts.  (Aug 29, 2008 | post #4)

St. Charles School District considers preschool program

Adult day care is a wonderful idea. But adult day care would come out of a social services budget rather than the already depleted St. Charles school budget.  (Aug 29, 2008 | post #20)

You Paid For It: St. Charles School District

Is anybody really surprised? Before they even started, their numbers were shown as inaccurate, but they decided to go forward anyway.  (Jul 28, 2008 | post #1)

InBev Agrees to Buy Anheuser For $50 Billion

Apparently no. There was a lot of Japanese money being spent buying up real estate and businesses in the late 1970's before their economy collapsed.  (Jul 16, 2008 | post #2)

Deal for Anheuser-Busch Is Said to Be Near

Going to be another blow to the economic situation in the St. Louis metro area. The folks that run InBev have slash and burned there way in the past to get the bottom line up. I expect there will be a huge round of layoffs, especially in St. Louis with the white collar workers.  (Jul 11, 2008 | post #1)

Firework enforcement, confusion, begin

Personally, I don't want a ban on all fireworks. I would be ok with a ban on fireworks that shoot into the air though. When I lived in south St. Louis, there was a neighbor across the alley that would shoot bottle rockets every night of the week of the 4th. I pretty much couldn't be outside in my yard because of the falling debris. I'd find them on my garage and house roof all the time. I'd ask that they not shoot them my way, but you just can't control them. It always comes down to personal responsiblity. It is the few highly publicized cases that make politicians bold enough to start taking away any and all rights.  (Jul 3, 2008 | post #4)

Where is the mass transit?

St Charles Area Transit (SCAT) system just isn't doing the job we as a community needs it to do. The hours are very short and it doesn't go far. With gas prices the way they are, I think we really need an actual plan to help move people around town, whether that is busses or trolleys.  (Jul 3, 2008 | post #1)

St. Charles Ordinance Forcing Bars to Close

Yet, even the St. Louis Post Dispatch reports that there are more incidents in which the police were called to Ameristar than to the entire North Main Street area. The talk of enforcing the rules only came about after the North Main Street bars protested allowing Ameristar's bars being allowed to stay open later.  (Jul 3, 2008 | post #2)

Did the quake wake you up?

I was already awake and working when the quake this morning rolled through. At first, I thought it had to be heavy winds, but then I tried to walk to the window the house started swaying. Eeek.  (Apr 18, 2008 | post #1)

Tommy Roberts, candidate for Ward 3 alderman in St. Peters

The only case that I see case.net for Tommy Roberts JR is an old personal injury case from 1999 where everything was dismissed.  (Apr 3, 2008 | post #2)

How long did it take to get home in the snow?

Normally takes me about 30 minutes to get home, but with Highway 70 shutdown at several different spots it took me close to 2.5 hours to get home.  (Mar 6, 2008 | post #1)

Pit Bull attacks child, in St. Charles...Does anyone know...

I called the St. Charles police and the person I spoke to in records hadn't heard of a dog attack over the weekend. She said she could look up by name or address if there was any reports filed though.  (Mar 5, 2008 | post #4)
