Do you think Firefighters make too much money?

I would only suggest that the next time your house or life are in danger, call someone who is untrained and in a lower paying civil servant job to save you and your property. Perhaps a garbage man or tree trimmer. That way YOU can be proactive about saving taxpayer monies.  (Jan 31, 2010 | post #590)

Has it occured to you that they might be living longer because of their physical conditioning? In many departments they are also no longer allowed to smoke on or off the job.  (Jan 31, 2010 | post #589)

Hundreds gather near Manhattan Beach Pier to combat globa...

Sarah, I couldn't decide if you were seriously committed to what you espouse, or if you are just exceptionally arrogant, naive, and dimwitted. Are you soooo dense that you haven't ever read about other islands going underwater? Or islands coming up out of the water? This was never a reason to sound the alarm until Al Gore decided he wanted to create a new business opportunity. You are such a brainless, sullen, unkempt sow that you bought right into it without doing any research or asking any questions. As long as the liberals say it's so, it must be so. 90% of the worlds scientists do NOT agree that the debate is over regarding AGW. In fact, many of the world's scientists are behaving like scientists and discovering that many of the facts that lead to the ideas about climate change were anomalous findings. There are many aspects not accounted for, such as: What if the computer models are inaccurate? What role does water vapor play in AGW? Where are the CO2 readings taken, and how do they compensate for their inability to accurately measure the CO2 coming off of the ocean? How much do the fluctuations in sunspot activity coincide with the AGW findings about global temperature? Climatologists and meteorologists have a difficult time predicting the weather for more than a few days at a time, but you want to have faith that they can predict global weather and climate for the next 10, 20, or 100 years? Please! So pull you gaping maw out of the trough, wash your face, and quit trying to bully people with your assinine insulting demeanor and participate in meaningful way or go somewhere else to play.  (Nov 14, 2009 | post #136)

That's funny, I don't remember President Bush pushing for NAFTA! I do remember Bill Clinton pushing for that though. I seem to remember the Automakers taking their plants to Mexico and South America, thus beginning the exodus to greener pastures. If ignorance is bliss, you must be positively giddy!  (Nov 10, 2009 | post #76)

Conyers to Obama: `Start knocking heads' to pass health bill

No matter what the people say, Democrats want to keep shoving this down our throats. Now they want to "knock some heads" to try to get this horrendous bill to pass? This is insanity! How about we go back to the drawing board, draft a bill for tort reform, regulate the insurance companies so that they have to present a rate case to justify profits, and see where we end up. There are a significant amount of uninsured people who are uninsured by choice, not chance.  (Nov 9, 2009 | post #12)

You lie! Either that or you are truly ininformed or just stupid. Clinton had plenty of chances to find a kill bin Laden and was responsible for several other attacks on Americans and on American soil and did nothing to prevent them. Why are you sooooo against Bush? He was no better and no worse than many contemporary leaders. http://www.acsa200 0.net/clinton_caus ed_911.htm  (Nov 8, 2009 | post #176)

You still haven't made any discernable point, except that you are just another bitter liberal. If you're only rebuttal is to prove that 9-11 happened while I lived here in America, well, you're right! It wasn't under my watch, because I was not in control of anything pertaining to national security. Could President Bush have done more to combat it, perhaps. I've never been in the position to advise the president, so I don't have the luxury of second guessing him. I am just as uninformed as you are when it comes to real time domestic policy. You were completely unable to rebut any of the things I posted earlier, except to inform me that the Republicans sumitted a bill to repeal the Glass-Steagall act of 1933 by the following bills -Depository Institutions Deregulation and Monetary Control Act of 1980, the Garn-St. Germain Depository Institutions Act of 1982, and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999- which was signed into law by Bill Clinton. So what's your point?  (Nov 8, 2009 | post #175)

Chef Michael Shafer a larger-than-life figure

Wow, he must have been having a bad day! Chef Michael Shafer was so very kind and generous when he helped put on a benefit for my son. He was the opposite of everything you've said here in my experience with him. I'm very surprised to hear that that happened to you. Perhaps, someday, you might give him and his restaurant a second chance?  (Oct 17, 2009 | post #17)
