Destiny from The ville Profile
Mr. Kane was the most generous and kind man, you are correct. He did so much for our community, reading his obituary made me tear up- he really cared for his fellow man and I am in agreeance that I wish more people were like him, he was truly of his own league. I was only in kindergarten when I started that school- I believe it was the first year it opened, maybe the second. I remember the flood of '86 or '87, I was a "kidney-garte r" and we had to place desks on top of desks and such as our daily assignment was to prepare the school for that flood- the library had a sunken part of it that retained water from that flood like no other! The yearbook had crazy pictures of it- I remember it like yesterday. But not to take away from the memory of Mr. Kane- he was an amazing man. When I think of the amazing town that I grew up in and have so many ties to, I think of him and the Kane's. Again, my sincere condolences to the Kane Family. (Apr 21, 2009 | post #7)
*correction of last sentence* My deepest sympathies TO the Kane family. (Apr 21, 2009 | post #5)
I went to Richard Kane Elementary when it first opened and remember meeting Mr. Kane there as a little girl on many school special occasions. Even though this was many years ago, I remember him being the kindest, most gentle soul. My cousin is married to one of his grandchildren and I could not be prouder to be an extended member of this family. He was a wonderful man, and my deepest sympathies are extended too the Kane clan. Do you know what is funny? God forbid if I have a shortfall of revenue. That means my utilities are cut, or I lose my home. But what does Oklahoma do? They propose a $79.5 Million State Fair Expo Hall that will cost you, the tax-payer to fund. I am going to start proposing a temporary one-cent tax from my local government to help me get by when times are tough. Works for them... I should not have read these two stories back to back.. It just makes me mad (jealous). (Apr 15, 2009 | post #7)
Well I just hope they are prepared for the digital upgrade in February. I'd hate to think a bunch of criminals are potentially going to be without Rue McClenahan and the rest of the Golden Girls. That would be the real crime. I mean, think about the child molesters feelings and needs for once- geez people... so selfish.. (Dec 7, 2008 | post #93)
Awesome... 90 more officers I have to worry about making their end of the month quotas instead of important things, I am sure... (Aug 28, 2008 | post #24)
Praise Jesus that Caney, Kansas is only a short 15 minute drive from Bartlesville... 6 point and liquor and lotto tickets and tattoo's whenever your little heart desires... Oh wait, OK passed lotto and tat's- I forgot. Ah well, the first two were the big seller back in the day when I lived there, anyway. We better stop while we are ahead or we will kill their economy... Oh sure, you can vote and go to war at 18, but heaven forbid you drink... That makes alot of sense... (Aug 28, 2008 | post #124)
So, can these tree trimmers possibly help nab the "Eyebrow Bandit Lady" in the other Newson6 topix forum that is wanted for questioning in connection with her ex being murdered? And more importantly, if her eyebrows are that out of control, I can guarantee other various hairy locations are in need of a trimming, if you know what I mean... Maybe they have a sister company that handles bush trimmings for cases such as hers... (Aug 28, 2008 | post #31)
So, anyone hungry for some Country Cottage?? The sign alone makes me think quality... (Aug 28, 2008 | post #133)
If your husband is beating you, can't you shoot and kill him in self-defense? That would have saved her that whopper of a down payment of $100 bucks that she could apply towards something proactive, such as neck firming cream for example... (Aug 28, 2008 | post #126)
Now this is my kind of lady!! I wonder if I know her... Anywho, my buddy Darren lived in these apartments 6 or 7 years ago when he was managing a Zio's at the time and I remember all of us loading up in the car after the bar sometimes to go people watch and continue festivities on his balcony there at 2 am. It was already starting to get crazy at that complex then- it was hilarious to witness what went on in that community after hours outside. Obviously, it has appeared after reading this that we have truly missed out on what could have been an extra exciting evening had we not gone on with our lives... too bad I missed that.. What a very sad situation for this family, and for the 9 year old boy whom is probably blaming himself for this horrible ACCIDENT. I agree, I hope the parents are giving him extra love, as well... You know, my husband decided to mount his mammoth of a flatscreen on the livingroom wall earlier this year and I am constantly worried that sucker will somehow break loose and fall on my baby girl. TV's are no joke when it comes to weight... (Aug 27, 2008 | post #12)
Fancy, are you?? I just had family leave that had been here for 2 weeks. I haven't been on topix and found myself going through withdrawals, I hope it doesn't affect you in the same manner! I'm sure I missed some good stuff on here... kind of like 'ole girl in the picture is missing her eyebrow crayolas these days in county, I am sure.. (Aug 27, 2008 | post #71)
