Brookhaven launches town hall call center. -

hey richie - you were absolutely friggin hilarious when you were dispatched for public safety a few years back when i was there. you once told an old lady to go f-herself when she complained about her neighbors' loud music. classic. i am disappointed to see that TOB did not pick you to be the call center director.  (Sep 13, 2007 | post #15)

hey, mickey - he is in on a driving charge right now, but what are his priors? this very likely could have been a dry run for a future escape attempt. good thing no c/o got hurt and everybody got to go home.  (Jun 28, 2007 | post #11)

Cops: Driver in fatal crash was on methadone

it doesn't really matter if the methadone was a legal amount or if it was obtained illicitly or not. DUI/DWI includes driving while IMPAIRED. it is the same thing as if you were driving after taking some heavy cold medicine. as far as the liberal who inferred that it was the fault of the bicyclist - it is not a crime to disregard the rules of the road, but it is a crime to operate an automobile under the influence of a controlled substance.  (Jun 20, 2007 | post #10)

Baybille couple in hot water over pool noise

by far, the barking dogs. dogs bark 24/7, if allowed. neighbors doing work on their house usually keep it to normal hours. and besides, when they are done, your house value goes up. as far as the lawnmowers and weedwhackers - yes, that is a nuisance also, but just be glad that your neighbors actually mow their lawns.  (Jun 20, 2007 | post #86)

Baybille couple in hot water over pool noise

before moving off the island, i was a code enforcement officer for a municipality in suffolk county. in that time, i wrote numerous tickets for noise violations. i do not understand how these people are being charged with a noise violation. just for kicks and giggles, i went to the website for the incorporated village of bayville. i found the village codes online and looked under the section for noise. there, i found the following: ss42-3.J. :The shouting and crying of peddlers, hawkers and vendors which disturbs the peace and quiet of the neighborhood. unless these girls are selling girl scout cookies without a peddler's license, the village (and the whiny complainant) is out of gas. more than likely, there is an ongoing neighbor dispute here. when pressed, the code enforcement officer wrote something to appease the whiny complainant and make her go away (knowing that it probably isn't going to stick?) unless there is something huge that i am missing, these people are not going to jail or get fined.  (Jun 20, 2007 | post #75)
