An Open Letter to all Believers Skeptics need answers!

Well hopefully I am one of those believers :)  (Sep 1, 2012 | post #424)

I suppose that is the irony. Fossils, dry bones, can never bring life. Only Jesus can do that. So those who put their trust in science or anything other than Christ, can only expect that, death. They call us silly or ignorant, but how wise is it to put trust into bones, which can only lead to the grave?  (Aug 31, 2012 | post #394)

There is no answer that can be given to satisfy, until God wills to reveal His word to him. Until then, all we can do is testify and share our faith, and love and pray for those skeptics.  (Aug 31, 2012 | post #393)

Why Do Atheists Hate Christians So Much?

It is true, that some chrstians are hateful. And some atheists are hateful. But true believers need not be surprised. For if the world hated Christ, who is perfect, why shouldn't the world likewise hate christians, who are imperfect believers in that which is perfect? Remember the words of our Lord Jesus Christ. "If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." John 15:18-19  (Aug 31, 2012 | post #2785)

Gospel Truth

Quoting God's word is never a waste of time. You have a right to believe as you want. But so do I. And you can quote the cricket almanac anytime, lol.  (Aug 31, 2012 | post #5)

I am going to attempt to answer a couple of these questions. 5. Christianity is not a psychological crutch. Although a popular theory, typically when people have a cruch, deep down they subconsiously know that their crutch is nothing more than that. True believers know that God is real and God is just, and that He came down to the earth to be sin for us. Although anyone can go through periods of doubt, tuth is truth. And Jesus is truth. Also, a christian's life is never promised to be easy. Many christians suffer unjustly for their faith. Sometimes they ever beg for death, like Job in the Bible. It is not about comfort in this life though, it is about joy and love perfected in Jesus Christ, and the coming Kingdom of God. I know that we depend on something greater than ourselves, that maybe we can't physically see, but unbelievers depend only upon themselves, and their own stregnth, which I think we can all safely say, as proved time and time again in human history, leads nothing to destruction, war, unhappiness, depression. I'd rather hope on God, who is mightier than all the nations and rulers of this world, than on myself or an other human. 7. No one in themselves can take that bling leap of faith. It takes prayer, seeking of God and His word, and most importantly the Holy Spirit to transform us. We are spiritually reborn the moment we believe. It happens when His Spirit enters our hearts, that is when we truly believe, then and only then. So it is true to say "I can't," but God and His Holy Spirit certainly can.  (Aug 31, 2012 | post #389)

For Believers...

Maybe you didn't undestand my context in saying "to believe is to obey." It is not that I am somehow hypootizing myself into obeying, or convincing myself that I must obey. It is just to show that, although a LOT of chrisians confess that they believe in God, very few follow His commandments. It is not a quote for unbelievers, as it is for fellow Christians. The question is, if you have faith, do you really do as God commanded you? For Jesus did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it. (Matthew 5:17) and He said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments. " (John 14:15) I am just trying to prevent any fellow believer from falling into a false sense of security, where he thinks belief alone is enough. For although we are saved by faith ALONE, works of faith are to come after. Not our own works, but the works of the Holy Spirit working through believers. P.S. I do not mean to say that we as Christians are to fulfill the law as in the OT. I fully acknowledge that Christ did that and paid the full price for us on the cross. I only mean to say that if we love Christ, we should do as He commanded, to love one another, and love our God with all our hearts, for "on these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." (Matthew 22:40)  (Aug 31, 2012 | post #30)

Phillipians 1:21-23 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this wll mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to deart and be with Christ, wich is far better. I also love all of John 15, Song of Solomon, the book of Ruth and 1 Timothy 4:12  (Aug 31, 2012 | post #26)

How can a fellow member of mankind be an enemy of mankind? You also have no evidence of my race orethnic backround as to which you can reference me as a whiteman. And am I really the one displaying vile behavior here?  (Aug 28, 2012 | post #169)
