Remembering battle for Falklands
What I am about to state, is not meant to be construed as an insult in any way. I was here in Stanley, Falkland Islands during the Argentine occupation, and I speak from personal experience. I very well remember Major Patricio Dowling's stay here in the Falkland Islands. He had a very honourable reputation, especially when his guest was tied up in a chair and couldn't retaliate, or even defend himself. Similarly, unfortunately, there were others like him here during that dark, dark period. When the Brits got closer to re-taking the Islands and liberating us from the aggression, persecution and oppression that Argentine forces were subjecting us to - Major Patricio Dowling disappeared....... ! Additionally, there are people who would like to meet him on a 'one to one' basis (and I would suspect this would not be just Falkland Islanders but Argentines as well). (Sep 16, 2009 | post #5)
