Portrait of Pastor Paul Miller – Performing Political Min...

Involved with DHS Councilman Scott Matas Plus Some Peter Chryssikos Funny Business The pastor is involved with council members Scott Matas – plus some Peter Chryssikos funny business – and is preaching a political agenda at council meetings. Desert Hot Springs Police Want Tax Hike and to Close Youth Center or For City to Go Bankrupt The city Police Officers Association wants to raise taxes and close youth center or for the city to go bankrupt. The Yvonne Parks Mental Health and Welfare Center

Tribute to Former Mayor Yvonne Parks Already Underway Private civic leaders are eyeing a county building in the city as a way to create and insure a tribute to the lasting legacy of Yvonne Parks. With Desert Hot Springs teetering on bankruptcy the cost for naming a street for the former mayor is not viewed as an economically viable option. The building will soon house a county Department of Mental Health, a WIC program, a food stamp administration center and other welfare services. City to Continue Youth Programs Vows Mayor Sanchez

Council Ends Struggle With High Cost Contract One question being asked is why a functioning program that cost nothing was replaced with a program costing the city $250,000 a year. The architect of that plan cannot answer that question. Councilman Scott Matas paints the rest of the city council as evil meanies while hiding the truth of his involvement. By the way, whatever happened to that $300,000 the Boys and Girls Club had in the bank? Walter Luce to Develop and Sell The Foothills of DHS

Development Schemes Floated With Public Expense Today another hillside in Desert Hot Springs is in the sights of Walter Luce. This time it’s a 161 acre project named The Foothills. The project is being floated by this experienced Desert Hot Springs developer who is an author of fiction. We pull the wool out of your eyes examining the history of some troubled developments in the city. It is impossible to ignore the public expense to incorporate and provide public works such as sewer and water for developments like this. By the way, none of this has even gone before the city or county planning commissions. Much less the city council itself. So far. City Finally Gains School Rep

Palm Springs Unified School District Creates Opportunity for New Voice The new district of Desert Hot Springs guarantees a seat on the School Board. The final decision was approved by a 4-1 vote at the school board meeting of December 2013 held at the District board room …in Palm Springs. School Board Trustee Justin Blake who lives in the city of Rancho Mirage explained that he voted no because there was no need for anyone on the school board to represent Desert Hot Springs. The DHS city council approved district elections but disagreed with the boundaries. Ironically the people of Desert Hot Springs had no voice in creating a voice for the people of Desert Hot Springs.
