Hey everyone hows it going. First ill introduce myself. Im 21 years old and from MA. Im prior service (United States Air Force specialty in Security Forces) and currently work for state government. Now onto my questions/topic. Throughout my whole life I have got small sharp chest pains in my heart region. They were once in a while (maybe like once a month.) Starting in November of '07 I was getting them more frequently. About 5 times a day, sometimes more. I immediately went to the doctors were they said my blood pressure was high, and that I had an enlarged heart (after giving me an EKG, I believe thats what it was called, they hooked a bunch of sticky tabs with wires up to me from some machine). The pains still continue to this day. They start with small pains in the heart region, and get increasingly more painful as they go on (usually last between 5 - 60 seconds) and occasionally my left arm will go numb and my jaw locks up, as well as getting a little bit lightheaded. I went back to the doctor's on Friday and he set up an echogram (an ultra sound so to speak) of the heart for the end of the month. He seems stumped, and obviously since he is a physician, he probably doesn't know as well as a cardiologist would. Which I am going to at the end of the month. He has me on anxiety medicine, blood pressure medicine, and acid reflex medicine, none of which are working. Anyone have any idea would this could be? Sorry if this post seems a little rushed, im just strapped for time right now, and anxious to find out whats a matter. The 30th of Jan seems so far away! Thanks all!  (Jan 20, 2008 | post #1)
