Trooper Zaps Driver Over Speeding Ticket

According to the new report, the driver refused to sign the speeding ticket. What's that all about: admission of guilt? proof of receipt? Can't be admission of guilt on self-incrimination grounds. Just learned "taser" is acronym created by the inventor for "Thomas A Swift's electric rifle." Perhaps it should be called POPART (Police Officer's Powerful ARgument Terminator). From some reports, it could also be called, alas, an STD (subdue the dazed) device. Demonstrators exercising First Amendment right to peaceful protest--beware.  (Dec 5, 2007 | post #2602)

Trooper Zaps Driver Over Speeding Ticket

If this is real "scary" for law enforcement, what is it for citizens?  (Dec 5, 2007 | post #2601)

Credit Card Bullying

Having long campaigned on my website --Lonely Pamphleteer Review against credit card usury --indeed, even wondered if the credit card execs are commie moles out to give capitalism a bad name-- interested to learn of congressional hearings on the suibject. One abuse not mentioned is the self-aggrandizing penalties imposed by the credit card companies for late payment. There is a flat fee for late payment -- but also usurious interest rate hikes on the entire balance. Urge Congress to demand credit card companies limit penalties to actual loss. As of now, credit cards seize on punitive measures to grab windfall. I write from personal experience. Formerly contract law did not accept punitive windfalls. And how about full disclosure on campaign contributions to state and federal legislators from the credit card companies and their executives?  (Dec 4, 2007 | post #1)

Imus returns to radio with more apologies

Heard the Imus return listening on walkman outside Town Hall (not as Imus called it "Town Hall theater" -- my NYPD press ID not recognized by the Imusians. His remarks including mention of his meeting with the Rutgers women's basketball squad. Imus did NOT mention that New Jersey Governor Corzine, rushing to attend the meeting, was very seriously injured in an auto accident. Also heard Imus say he was now at a better radio station-- the one filled with conservative talkers Imus previously disdained and lampooned?  (Dec 4, 2007 | post #1)
