Let's make it a level playing field, Why don't you tell everybody who you are?  (Jul 7, 2007 | post #85)

TN Sex Offender Registery Update

I've been a smart ass all my life, and my age probably won't change that. As far as whether you believe me or not, I really don't care. I have bared my soul more than anyone on this forum. You know more about my personal life than you do your neighbor's. I have no clue who you are, and I'm fine with that. I do take offense that you are using BB King's name, though.  (Jul 7, 2007 | post #83)

His mother's poor judgment? Who are you to judge my wife? The only thing that you said that made sense was the fact that I gave up the rights of an innocent man. Read your Bible. If you have never walked in the shoes of the person you are putting down, you can't say for sure what you would do. By the way, my son is living and attending college in Florida and is not concerned about my profile in Tennessee. I can assure you that it does not bother him in the least, and if he was here, he would tell you to take a flying leap. In fact, let's talk about keeping a low profile, because that's what most registered sex offenders do. I'm talking about the sex offenders who do not register with the local police departments when they move. They stay under the radar. They are the predators that you should fear.  (Jul 7, 2007 | post #80)

Why the sentences that my stepson loves and respects me and the that it means more to me than your opinion of me, bothers you, must mean that you're trying to read something into it that is simply not there. The boy was raised by his mother until I came into her life, and my she did a great job at it. All I was saying is this boy did not have a choice when his mother fell in love with me. All of a sudden he's living with a RSO as a stepfather, and that's a traumatic event for any child. He could've been rebellious, he could've withdrawn, but I told him the truth from the get go, and he handled a probation officer coming over to our house for required visits, and police officers coming over at Halloween to tell us that we couldn't give out treats to the neighbor children, because he knew the truth. I do agree with you that I should not cut and run. I'm staying on this forum. I've got nothing to hide.  (Jul 7, 2007 | post #72)

OK, here's a condensed version. First off, the accusation was made in Illinois, not Florida. If Illinois's definition was the same as Florida's, I would've gone to trial and let medical science prove me innocent. Less than 6 months after marrying a woman in 1998, I discovered that she was dipping into my bank account to support her cocaine habit to the tune of thousands of dollars. I confronted her and told her that I was filing for divorce. She told me that if I did, I would regret for the rest of my life. Truer words were never spoken. I was arrested at work within days. My anger turned into fear, when I learned that since there was no way to prove or disprove the accusation, the outcome would be determined by who the jury believed. Unless you have ever had this happen to you, there is no way that you can say what you would do. Yes, I eventually accepted probation to end the madness. This was a decision that will regret for the rest of my life. After moving to Florida I met a wonderful woman who helped me cope with my situation. We fell in love. She had a 13 year old child, I petitioned the court to allow us to get married and have the boy live with us. A RSO cannot have a minor live with them while they are on probation. The federal judge in Illinois, a federal judge in Florida, and my probation officer all signed off on the petition to allow this to happen. Do you really think that these people would've risked their jobs if I was guilty? Do some research on this. It's unheard of. I am the only father that the boy has known, and he loves and respects me. That means more to me than any of your opinions of me. I will no longer post on this forum, so you won't have Davey to kick around anymore. One last thing. If you don't believe that there are innocent people in prison, you're walking around with blinders on.  (Jul 7, 2007 | post #34)

I just got through typing for 30 minutes, and when I posted it, nothing happened. I'm sorry, but I'm tired and I promise I will start over in the morning. For your information Angie, a jury did not find me guilty. I'll explain it tomorrow.  (Jul 6, 2007 | post #25)

I just got back into town, and I see that "I" am the topic of conversation. I will open up completely later tonight, as my time frame does not allow for an immediate response. If I really was what you suspect I am, I would not respond to any of this. I would become a low life coward and slink into the shadows. This is a personal part of my life that I'm not comfortable discussing with people, but "YOU" have the right to know because I live here. I will start a post, and it's gonna take awhile, so I would appreciate it if you don't respond until I've said everything that I need to say.  (Jul 6, 2007 | post #24)

My baptism was held in a Methodist Church. I'm not a Baptist. You need to blame the Methodist. No, don't blame the Methodist, they didn't do anything wrong. Actually, you need to re-read the post. I'm on your side, but please don't get mad at the Baptist because of me. I drink beer, and I'd rather buy it from a local vendor than at WalMart. Period.  (Jul 4, 2007 | post #51)

thinking of relocating

Davey, if I knew how to spell rude noises indicating my disgust, I would. Yes, parts of Montana are beautiful - other parts are so flat you could wave and somebody'd see you five miles off. Not to mention, it gets cold there. REAL cold. I'd stay in Florida before I'd move somewhere with the kind of climate that turns snot into nose-icicles in less than 2 minutes. By any chance, has your wife been making you watch Brad Pitt movies? I've got to admit that when I left Illinois and moved to Florida, the cold weather factor came into play. Just one question. How did you know that my wife has the hots for Brad Pitt?  (Jul 3, 2007 | post #55)

I don't believe that you can buy beer until after noon on Sunday, so this should not effect your church attendance.  (Jul 2, 2007 | post #45)

Rogersville Planning Commission

I do not live in Rogersville, but I do live in Hawkins County, and the property I purchased, and the property that surrounds me is restricted. No mobile homes, no pig lots, no commercial businesses and a minimum square footage of 1150 ft for a house is required. Who told you that there is no zoning in Hawkins County?  (Jul 2, 2007 | post #11)

Haven't you heard? Satan worshipers have purchased the place and they want to sell beer there. Can you believe it? Well, I'm not sure they're Satan worshipers, but they pretty much gotta be if they're going to be open Sunday and sell beer. Don't you think?  (Jul 2, 2007 | post #41)

thinking of relocating

I can tell you where to find it. Montana. Great hunting and fishing, and if your as rich as Robert Redford, you'll probably love it there. If that's not the case, this part of Tennessee is absolutely beautiful. My wife and I moved here from Florida in January of 2006. After checking into the demographics here, I assure you that I would not have made the move if it wasn't for the fact that I had an excellent job opportunity offered to me. I am not a naysayer about this area, but the job market is bleak (boy, is that an understatement). We looked at property in Eidson before we settled outside of Rogersville. When I say we settled, that means we bought a house and are paying property taxes. We've found that to be a major ploy in being accepted, and eventually respected. Property in Eidson is inexpensive because it's on the other side of the mountain. A real estate agency won't tell you that. If your lifestyle does not require finding a decent paying job, and you don't need restaurants, shopping malls, movie theaters, bars, live music, real grocery stores, clothing stores, book stores, or almost anything else that you've been accustomed to in Tallahassee, then Eidson is probably a good choice. Even though you're from Florida, you'll be called a Yankee here. When I say here, I just mean on this internet site, because everyone I've met in person has been friendly. I've never heard them complain about "Floridian Yankees",(doe s that even make sense?) moving here. I do not miss the everyday rudeness of folks who live in Florida. I feel your pain and understand why you want to leave. I will not knock this area, I like it here, but you need to have yours eyes wide open before you make the plunge. If you accept this mission, this tape will self destruct in 5 seconds.  (Jul 2, 2007 | post #44)

Why Rogersville Will Never Have Liquor By The Drink

Why do people here keep dissing the Yankees? They are 11 games behind Boston, and probably won't even make the playoffs this year. Show a little compassion. On the other hand, if you're referring to the ancestors of soldiers who fought for their country in the War between the States, you should be ashamed of yourselves. It was an ugly war that pitted brother against brother, I know because I had family that fought on both sides. If you do some civil war history research, you'll find out that the Union forces recruited a lot of northeastern Tennessee mountain folks because of their sharpshooting ability. The war has been over for almost 150 years now. We are all Americans. That's a good thing. Get over it!  (Jul 1, 2007 | post #11)
