Gaza Strip pounded by Israeli warplanes; over 200 killed

back when israel used a 2000lb bomb to kill one man in a residential area of gaza, i condemed them for such a stupid move. to kill one man they murdered an entire neighborhood. but in this case, Hamas CHOOSE to repeatedly attack israel with missle's and morter's for over week, and israel responded. the amount of people killed does not matter at all. Hamas asked for retaliation and they got what they wanted. i have no pity on them at all. i am sorry for the few innocents that were hurt. but they chose to back a terror group for a government. you reap what you soe. we are seeing the problem with that also. we choose to re-elect a moron for president and look what's happened now.  (Dec 28, 2008 | post #5)

Book suggests cop admitted man was paid to kill Tankleffs

either you don't know anything about the case or your just blind. this case stunk from the start. it was the talk of the island back then and no matter who you talked to, no one believed he was guilty. how in the world can anyone take an unsigned confession as fact? it's amazing it was allowed in in the 1st place. this case is proof that no matter what the cops want to talk to you about, you say nothing without a lawyer. if they see that as a signall of guilt, then they should read the constitution of the united states.  (Dec 28, 2008 | post #13)

Five former Blackwater guards indicted in 2007 shootings

i have no doubt that a bomb exploded casuing the shooting. but the fact that so many civilians were killed means they gave no care to who or where they were shooting. Blackwater is nothing more then a mercinary group. plain and simple. when the US government1st hired merc's. for "security " in a war zone, i wrote on these posting that this would cause a problem. it was a waste of taxpayer money to use "private security contractors" instead of the military in the 1st place. then to give merc's immunity from prosecution was giving these guys free reign to do what they wanted in a war zone.  (Dec 9, 2008 | post #2)

Oyster Bay won't assess environmental impact of garage

ask the people in the area if they have called the police. the streets are all posted with 2 hour parking signs, but the police WILL NOT issue tickets to commuters unless the driveways are blocked.  (Nov 8, 2008 | post #5)

Suffolk repairman called 'notorious violator' by D.A. -

i found out from consumer affairs that vinny was not allowed to operate a construction company when i first filed the complaint. CA told me that dominick was the owner. soon as vinny paid his fine for my complaint, he was issued a new license and consumer affairs closed the case. to me that sounds like bogstead got a nice payoff. the best consumer affairs has to offer for the right price  (Oct 29, 2008 | post #117)

Suffolk repairman called 'notorious violator' by D.A. -

your story sounds exactly like mine. we had to have the entire 2nd floor taken down and redo the whole job. cost an extra $200K for the work by ambassador home improvement. who by the way did a fantastic job. Roger Bogstead, the commisioner of consumer affairs did NOTHING for us except fine fine finish $10,000 and closed the case. Bogstead promised my wife and i personally that all repairs would be paid for. they were right. the repairs were paid by me.  (Oct 24, 2008 | post #115)

Oyster Bay won't assess environmental impact of garage

you are 100% correct. this is a simple case of you can't please all of the people all of the time. 1st the residents were screaming about the demo of the garage. now they want an EIS. but at the same time they are complaining that commuters are parking on their streets and blocking their driveways. if they wanted to stop the illegal parking they should want the garage rebuilt as soon as possible. in this case i feel bad for Veditto. no matter what he does on this issue he's going to tick off a lot of people. catch-22 John. sorry  (Oct 24, 2008 | post #2)

Official: US Embassy in Yemen hit by car bomb

60 cruise missles was nothing? Bubba was critizied by the republicans for such a "heavy handed" response to the embassy bombings. they said it was just a distraction from the white water probe. the only attack that was done that never had a response to was the USS Cole. and that you have bush to thank for. as far as oil goes. they know that the gulf of mexico has light sweet crude there. the question is, why hasn't the oil companies drilled there yet? Bubba GAVE them the lease's to area 181 back in 95 free of charge. but to date they only have 4 wells drilled there. as far as alaska. they have never drilled any test wells. they have no idea what's there. oil companies hold over 250 million square miles of undrilled leases in this country. why are they not drilling where they already know what's there. how much and how deep.  (Sep 17, 2008 | post #53)

Pawlenty, Romney will not be McCain's running mate

1st of all, biden is a pick for VP that is not only quialified to take over, but commands the respect of national leaders all over the world. and since when is it the job of the united states to eliminat a tyrant? our war against terrorist's was and is in afganistan. and if we didn't invade iraq to "spread democracy", it would be over by now. not to mention that even bush admitted that terrorist's were not in iraq until we made it clear that we were going to invade. stop already with the justification of war against iraq. this was a war about WMD's. that's what we were told by bush and that's why we invaded. they were not there and the reasons we went there were wrong. end it there. you might want to have our soldiers fight for someone elses freedom. but when i served in the army i joined to help protect our freedoms and the constitution of the united states. if the iraqi's wanted to be a free democracy, then they should rise up and fight for it like our fore fathers did.  (Aug 30, 2008 | post #579)

Pawlenty, Romney will not be McCain's running mate

at what point did i say amything negative about mcain's age. i simply said that what if he doesn't live out his term. His VP pick is far more important then obama's for the simple reaosn of his age. and don't bring up reagan. for the president of the united states to claim "i don't recall" during the iran contra hearings just showed that his age was in deed a factor. it's either that or he lied about not remembering. which do you think it was?  (Aug 30, 2008 | post #578)

Pawlenty, Romney will not be McCain's running mate

am i missing something? the republicans have been beating up on Obama because of lack of experience, and they pick someone who has even less then obama for the VP of a man who is older then dirt. i see postings here saying she has "executive experience", (repeating the party line from this morning before the announcement.) a town mayor of 9000, is not ready to lead our country. a governor for less then 2 years IS not ready to lead this country. how many heads of state has this woman sat down with? if mcain dies in office, this will prove to be a disaster of a choice for VP. it's amazing how Obama can pick someone who has vast experience in foreign affairs and is condemed for that pick and Mcain picks the hockey mom from down the block and is praised it's strange how Biden was accused as using his sons military back ground and being posted in Iraq at his introduction at the convention. even though it was never mentioned. but mcains pick not only mentioned her sons military background, but seemed to stand on a soap box showing her backing of the "wonderful war" in iraq. it is amazing that you people can buy into this Hypocrisy and do it with a straight face.  (Aug 29, 2008 | post #463)

One injured, one killed in Melville crash

the speed limit is 55mph or 45mph. and there is a light at that intersection  (Jun 22, 2008 | post #40)

One injured, one killed in Melville crash

excuse me. 2 things. there is a light at that intersection. i tend to believe that a 59 year old man waited for the light to change before he made the left turn. true i'm only guessing at that but i see a guy driving a sports car fast enough to cause a huge suv to roll over, as someone who doessn;t care about anything. i'll believe that the SUV driver followed the rule's. 2nd) even if the was no light. when you are making a left turn and see head lights far down the road at night, you have no reason to assume that those lights would be approching any faster then 70 miles an hour. you would have pleanty of time to make the turn safely. but if that car was doing 120mph and you are already in the turn, who's fault would it be then? speed and perception are not easy to judge at night when one car is going faster then would be logical to think about. and by the looks of the lotus, it rammed into the SUV, not the other way around.  (Jun 22, 2008 | post #39)
