One injured, one killed in Melville crash
the speed limit is 55mph or 45mph. and there is a light at that intersection (Jun 22, 2008 | post #40)
One injured, one killed in Melville crash
excuse me. 2 things. there is a light at that intersection. i tend to believe that a 59 year old man waited for the light to change before he made the left turn. true i'm only guessing at that but i see a guy driving a sports car fast enough to cause a huge suv to roll over, as someone who doessn;t care about anything. i'll believe that the SUV driver followed the rule's. 2nd) even if the was no light. when you are making a left turn and see head lights far down the road at night, you have no reason to assume that those lights would be approching any faster then 70 miles an hour. you would have pleanty of time to make the turn safely. but if that car was doing 120mph and you are already in the turn, who's fault would it be then? speed and perception are not easy to judge at night when one car is going faster then would be logical to think about. and by the looks of the lotus, it rammed into the SUV, not the other way around. high rate of speed? are you kidding? this guys car caused a suv 4 times it's weight to flip over. the driver of the lotus was either looking to kill himself or he was just a complete butthole who had no regard human life. when morons like this meet their end the only good thing is that they went alone. and didn't take an innocent person with them. we are now safer with one less idiot on the road. Suffolk police probe Taser death of drug suspect
st of all, the web site i went to was not taser's. it was an electricians Q&A web site...http://en.a llexperts.com/q/El ectrical-Wiring-Ho me-1734/dangerous- amperage.htm 2nd. i have gotten shocks from working on my car and motorcycle more times then i'd like to admit. seems like i'm still here. 3rd, you know of someone who DIED from a 60 watt light bulb electrical current? either your not telling the whole story or he died of something else. and finally, i am so glad to hear that you tourture mice with electricity, i see why your such an expert on the topic. Suffolk police probe Taser death of drug suspect
maybe as an electrician you should go back to school and learn the difference between amps and volts. 50,000 volts is NOT fatal. do a google search how many amps are fatal? the answer is as little as 20 milliamps. which is more then triple the amount of amps in a taser. (Jun 12, 2008 | post #125)
Suffolk police probe Taser death of drug suspect
andy my man... things are going well. what this article talks about is "how dangerous" tasers are... please amnesty international, is the biggest anti-taser group out there and people really buy into their garbage. what amnesty international fails to tell everyone is that in 2003 they hired a research group in maryland to study taser's risks and dangers. unfortunatly for them, the study show the opposite. that if the person who is hit with a taser is in "reasonably fair health" the taser is safe. they also found out that if a person is on cocaine, their heart rate more then triple's and the added shock may pose risk's. so the policy that they want is that the cops do a drug tesst on every suspect, before they taser him. this would make it safe. (Jun 12, 2008 | post #124)
Suffolk police probe Taser death of drug suspect
23 lawsuits against taser have been dismissed. all of which found the perp's death was caused by the drugs and not the taser. taser and the police depts have won all the suits against them to date. 100% of all lawsuits that resulted in deaths. taser are safe. tasers should be used by the police depts. i don't know about any of you. but if given a choice between a harmless shock or lead poisoning, i'll take the shock over a bullet any day. this idiot in the article would have either died of an overdose or was stopped by the cops. it's his fault he already had a good amount of cocaine in his system. Gas hits record high of $4 on Long Island
then i apologize for not reading what you said correctly. this whole issue pisses me off by people saying it this ones fault and that ones fault and it's no one's fault. when the oil companines write our energy policy with the vice president,(who keeps that meeting a secret.) and then claim they have no control over how much profit they are making is an utterly stupid thing for people to believe. i'll tell you how that meeting went. IT'S A FREE MARKET SYSTEM, SO LET'S USE THAT TO MAKE THE PRICE RUN AWAY. and they did use it. exxon mobil made an extra 4.4 billion dollars, that's $4,400,000,000.00 was all net profit for last quarter simply because of the price of oil. in other words, without investing one dime, or spending anything at all. exxon mobil made 4.4 billion dollars because they have no control over the price of the product they sell. so why should they not pass on that extra NET profit to their customers? and that's just one company BP, sunoco, hess, volaro, they all had the same windfall. McCain believes Iraq war can be won by 2013
i am the furthest thing from a supporter of this clone of the moron in the white house, but what you are saying is the dumbest most idiotic comments i have ever seen since mccain ran against bush in 2000. why? because it was karl rove who spread these lies in the 1st place. i hated it then and i hate it even more now because it was all proven to be lies then. only a schmuck would repeat them today. when are you and everyone else going to understand that supply and demand is NOT what is controlling the price of oil or gas. the same speculator's who ruined the real estate market are now doing the same thing to the oil market and they are also doing it to the commodities market. the only supply and demand that is happening now is how much i can buy and sell futures for. there is no shortage of oil. there is no shortage of gas. there is no shortage of heating oil. there is only those who are buying and selling the futures on the CMX. for the 1st 4 years of the 1st term of bush all republican and bush supporters could do was blame clinton for everything that was going wrong. in the 2nd term they blamed the liberal press. bush has the lowest approval rating of any president for a reason. he's a failure. i just wish you people would admit it. BUSH DID IT HIMSELF. no ones fault but his and his advisors. (May 15, 2008 | post #158)

you really have to check your facts and what they really mean. 1st of all clinton did not out law drilling in the anwar. it' was out- lawed years before reagan even took office. so stop blaming clinton. as a matter of fact. there has never been any test wells in the anwar. so they have no idea what kind of oil is there. or even if it's usable. as for the refineries. it was clinton who offered the oil companies the land that the closed military bases were on for FREE. he also eased up on the EPA requirements because the land was already a toxic wasteland. the oil companies didn't want to build refineries then because it was too expensive to build and they were not needed. as for the "tax holiday". it was not ALL tax on gas as you said. it was only the special tax. federally that is .18 cents and state wide for new york it's .36 cents. no one ever mentioned a holiday from the sales tax. which is 8%. and by the way, gas in the last month went up 50 cents. just what savings would we have had? but the ability for our state and federal government to maintain the roads and bridges would be damaged for years. but that's not important. what's important is you save that 54 cents a gallon because your polititions are pandering to the masses with something that will do nothing to stop what is happening. as for why the anwar became so important to drill in, ask senator stevens. his family owns 24% of the mineral rights in the anwar. ask jeb bush why they couldn't drill for the light sweet crude in the gulf of mexico 285 miles off the coast of florida while cuba, iran and china are drilling only 50 miles off the florida key's. do a google search on area 181 and tell me what you find out there. and ask yourself why the hell isn't the oil companies drilling there? when the were given the leases in 1995 they said it was too deep. that oil would have to be above $50.00 a barrel to make it worth while. hmmm who gave them the leases for free anyway? i say take the leases away from them and give them to company that would actually drill there.
