For over a decade now, Jane Couch has battled for the right in the UK to be recognised as a Professional boxer by the BBBofC. After years of at being in the world's elite in the light welterweight and welterweight divisions, Her Majesty The Queen, has finally recognised her complete dedication to female boxing; not only for Couch, but for female boxing across the world. Hopefully, now Couch who also helps to promote female boxing along with Tex Woodward, will finally be in a position to negociate with the major TV companies to put Womens boxing on our screens. May i suggest that with regards to coverage for UK's Women boxing that SETANTA Sports be the first place to try. I may be bias being of Celtic origin! but with Paul Dempsey, Barry McGuigan and John Rawling heading the line up,it seems an obvious choice. Jane Couch MBE is now member of the British Empire, it would be a brave man or women TV executive to deny womens boxing on UK television as a major event. This is exciting times for womens boxing in the UK especially with the likes of Winter and Brown knocking on the "world door" and especially with Shanee Martin's WIBF flyweight world title return.
