Is television the "Opiate of the Masses" in the US?

I see your point and can agree with that also. Now the bigger question is HOW? and even more importantly, WHY? it got like that.  (Feb 26, 2012 | post #7)

Is television the "Opiate of the Masses" in the US?

In all my years of being in forums this is the all time best statement from someone that I have ever seen in a forum. Agree 110%. Believe me, this is not only occurring in the youth but the vast majority of adults as well. It kills me to get blank, slack-jawed looks from people when I try to discuss something in the news. That's when I know that the conversation won't evolve any further than who's on the latest reality show. I just give up and walk away then. Sad that it's getting like this as the access to information on anything and everything is so simple these days.  (Feb 25, 2012 | post #5)

Why do we still have all black colleges and miss black US...

Continue to put your head in the sand Joy. I swear, us white folks aren't just making it all up. You really have some major, major issues in the black community and pointing the finger at Bill for speaking the truth isn't going to solve it. Ever think that maybe part of the problem with the youth in black communities is....too much self esteem and not enough humility? Think about it....  (Dec 22, 2011 | post #10)

And my last comment to you on this topic also Bubba... I stand by and believe with all my being every word I said in this thread and nothing you can say will change anything, deal with it. Also, kind of hypocritical that you can claim to be a vet and served for the right of people to have their religious freedoms but not for my freedom to dissent from it in any way. That is what the country is built on and what makes it great. Now have a great weekend...  (Nov 25, 2010 | post #45)

Wow, you really are that arrogant. Who said I hate them??? That's the problem with idiots like you, your spend so much time name calling and demonizing anyone with a viewpoint opposed to yours that your logic gets extremely flawed and you start foaming at the mouth. Dude...are you trying to claim that this guy is worse than the Taliban?? Think you are off a bit trying to prove your point and here is the difference. The Taliban is cold and calculating and Kony is pretty much a nutcase from what the article you posted says. I have never claimed that people like him don't exist but it is a short list, a whole lot shorter than the Fundamental Islamic terrorist list. Thank you for your service to the country but you have nothing on me. I spent 6 great years in our military that I am very proud of. Look back at some of my posts on this, I throw around the term "Fundamental Islamic terrorist" for a reason. I know that most Muslims are not terrorists as I have already stated. But I remember 9/11 well and read daily about bombings, murders, etc that are perpetrated by these wackos all over the world on a daily basis. Looking at what is/has happened in Europe in the last few years, today it might be a marketplace in Kabul, tomorrow it might be Cool Springs mall. Oh yea...under Sharia Law if I was to say what I just said I would be arrested and executed, just sayin. Like I said, answer the questions and put the people at ease...  (Nov 24, 2010 | post #40)

Mornin MJ...Doing great here. They said it would take about six months to fully recover and they were pretty much dead on. Feeling good and looking good and compared to the condition I was in back then I can pretty much say it was a miracle. Recently did a 5k walk in 45 minutes, wasn't doing that before the problems so now my goal is not only to recover but be even better than before. Good to be back and take care...  (Nov 24, 2010 | post #38)

Joseph Kony?? Isn't he an obscure, mentally unbalanced, cult and rebel leader in Uganda? Kind of a reach there isn't it Bubba. Sure, if you want to go through the time of posting your other 1000 then be my guest and have at it dude. But I can guarantee you that for every legit one that you can come up with I will be able to put up a hundred Islamic terrorists in return but I'm not going to sit here and get in a pi55ing contest with you. People like you really make me wonder where the hate really is. The anti Muslim crowd is portrayed like they have horns and pitchforks. If you look at reality, they are only concerned about the prior history of the Islamic religion in regard to terrorist activities which you cannot deny. Also unanswered questions about the Koran and beliefs of the Islamic religion. ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTIONS, PUT THE PEOPLE AT EASE THEN IF YOU WANT YOUR MOSQUE! Right now Europe has a huge problem in which we are just now starting to get to the beginning of here. Trust me, you DO NOT want Sharia Law here in the States. Kind of ironic that the ones that are pro Muslim are for the most part anti Christian. Let them build the Mosque but they fight any sign of Christianity at all costs.  (Nov 24, 2010 | post #37)

Bravo! You win the prize Einstein. Someone finally named a so called "Christian Terrorist" Sure Rudolph claimed to do his deeds in the name of Christ but he also targeted his terror to abortion clinics, not the general public like a Islamic Fundamentalist terrorist would. Not that it makes it right but thought I would point that out. Bet you can't name any more of the "1000 more like him" though. BTW...Rudolph was not a Patriot but like alot of people out there I don't have a problem with who he targeted, but I don't approve of his methods. There are better ways to fight a evil like that. Now move along and please don't let me confuse you with the facts...  (Nov 23, 2010 | post #34)

I see you were judged clueless for a reason. Not even worth my time for a response on this but here it goes anyway... First of all, you jump to the typical liberal answer to anyone who has you flustered....redne ck, bigot, sexist, gomer (hmmmm), etc, etc. That itself shows your lack of intelligence and class and completely voids your side of the issue. Please tell me where I said all Muslims are terrorists. I only said ALMOST all terrorists were Muslims. Please name me the Christian terrorists in the last 40 years. It would be safe to say that that list will be pretty short, now wouldn't it? Also, I have some insight in this issue due to living and working for a short time in a Moderate Islamic county in the middle east. Also have close friends from Muslim countries and we discuss and debate the issues frequently. They all agree with me on this because they have lived around and saw daily the craziness of the Fundamentalists. They will tell you stories that will curl your toes. It is like any religion or race. Some are good, some are bad, and a whole lot are in between. Keep on with your head in the sand.....  (Nov 22, 2010 | post #29)

Sigh... As stated earlier idiot, McVeigh was Agnostic. Ole Chuck was a psychotic, unbalanced, anti social, drug user, cult leader and mass murderer (not Christian of course), Koresh is the one closest to your feeble argument but although he believed himself to be a prophet and his sect was based on some whacked out version of Christianity, he was no terrorist. Use your brain if you have one and quit reaching for straws. Try again Buckwheat....  (Nov 22, 2010 | post #28)

More fun and games from our Fundamental Islamic buddies in Pakistan.... http://www.telegra ph.co.uk/news/news topics/religion/81 20142/Christian-wo man-sentenced-to-d eath-in-Pakistan-f or-blasphemy.html Release International, a group that helps persecuted Christians, reports that Asia Bibi was working with Muslim women who were pressuring her to renounce her faith. Bibi responded by telling the women Jesus died on the cross for all of mankind. She then asked them what Mohammed had done for them. Local Muslim leaders demanded she be charged with blasphemy for the statement. To all the Anti-Christians out there... Doesn't it feel good to live in a country that allows you to criticize, demean, intimidate and harass Christians whenever and however you choose without repercussions whatsoever? Try that in a Muslim country and as you can see by this story, you will be sentenced to death. You have it so good here and in your hate you don't even realize it.  (Nov 12, 2010 | post #19)

Try again...your argument is weak. Tim McVeigh was not a "Christian Terrorist" as you and others have claimed. McVeigh was an AGNOSTIC ANTI GOVERNMENT wacko. He was not motivated by religion as the Fundamentalist Muslims are. The Islamic terrorists are devout Muslims who specifically stated they were acting on their religious beliefs, yet you defend them passionately? It's so easy to understand but for some reason the liberals and the left refuse to see that. Ever see the tapes they make before they blow themselves and others up praising Allah? Ever wonder why they yell Allah Akbar before committing these acts of murder? Tired of seeing time after time again McVeigh used in the liberals arguments in favor of the Muslims who account for a far far greater number of terrorist acts. Remember, McVeigh committed ONE terrorist act. Fundamental Muslims have accounted for THOUSANDS...  (Nov 10, 2010 | post #17)
