That is funny, because we recycle plastic on base! Every Thursday, they come by and pick up paper, cardboard, plastic, newspaper and tin. So, it is quite obvious, that SOMEWHERE near here must take plastics to be recycled. Otherwise, why would they pick it up on base? Maybe you could post an ad on Holloman Yard Sales asking someone to share their recycling bin on base, and you could drop your plastics off to them. When we lived in Italy, it was against the law NOT to recycle. Our Italian neighbors watched us too, and if we put items in the wrong bin, they had NO problem coming and telling us. I agree 100%. If I were to do the same I guess I would be a British-American, because my mother is British and my dad is American! Sounds a little contradictory! Okay, Pugs does have a point here! I used to live in Germany and I love German food. I have a german friend and I asked her if I could shop at their store and she said no. When I asked why, she told me that they only carry enough inventory to serve the Germans. I said, well then how is it fair that you can go and deplete our inventory at OUR commissary, and she told me, sorry that is just the way it is. I do think that if we are going to show them some respect (ie flying their flag, allowing them to shop in OUR commissary and BX) then we should be afforded the same kind of respect from them. They ARE in OUR country after all. And before someone tells me how wrong that is, I have lived in foreign countries all my life and I was always told how great it was that I adapted to their way of life and learned their languages. Throughout this entire forum, I have not seen anyone wish bad things on anyone else. As far as doing absolutely nothing good for our kids... you are wrong. We did something great for our kids; we took them away from the elitist mindset of Showtime Studios and taught them how to be good caring people. We taught them that just because someone has a different opionion that you, does NOT mean they are jealous, it just means they are different.
