Sorry it took so long to get back to you on this one,looong weekend.When I lived in Va. the republican primary was crashed by dems in the 2000 primary.They were voting for McCane over W. because he was perceived to be weaker among the base.It was occuring in the previous primaries of other states as well,but when W. clinched the nomination,it was dropped.The only reason dem's are so fired up is because this situation has gone on waaaay longer and appears to have grown legs of it's own.Just because you are ignorant of a situation doesn't mean it didn't happen. I agree that W. has killed the conservative movement and he is no friend of mine.By the by,I know several dems who plan to vote for John Mc. (Monday May 12 | post #94)
