Can Aramis Ramirez save the Chicago Cubs?

It took 10 paragraphs for Rick Morrissey to cut through the sarcastic BS and get to the point.  (Jul 6, 2009 | post #62)

Cubs fans' love for Mark DeRosa a little out of whack

You obviously don't read as well as you think you do. Nowhere in my reply did I imply Morrissey was putting down DeRosa. In light of his sarcastic statements, I was defending Cubs fans for liking a player such as DeRosa seeing as what he brought to the team is obviously missing this season. Now I know you're a troll and this wasn't even worth replying to, but I wanted to clear this up for the right minded people who aren't here to bait the other readers with idiotic general statements about race and Cubs fans.  (Jun 22, 2009 | post #226)

Cubs fans' love for Mark DeRosa a little out of whack

DeRo was a class act who played multiple positions and hit well. Does Rick Morrissey really have nothing better to write about? Oh, shame on us for loving a player who did his job day in and day out. Besides, when you look at what we have instead of DeRo, it's no wonder the fans like him so much. Aaron Miles? Seriously?  (Jun 22, 2009 | post #78)

Eco-friendly shopping bags: Are they making you sick?

Consider the source, indeed. Is the plastics industry this desperate? I got guilt tripped into using reusable bags. But when I actually started using them I realized not only are they less wasteful, but they're sturdier, easier to carry, and they fit more groceries than the typical plastic bags. Everyone should consider using reusable bags, if not for the environment, but for efficiency.  (May 27, 2009 | post #14)

Jerry Springer wraps up his tenure in Chicago before leav...

Some of you people need to lighten up. It was more for our entertainment than it was to expose anything or to give these trashy people these five minutes of fame. If anything Jerry Springer exposed the dark side of our country. You have the tall skyscrapers and the rich businessmen walking down Michigan Avenue, and then you have the trash lining up to get into NBC tower. It's ugly, but it's true. Those who bashed springer because of the types of guests he had on the show just want to brush them under the rug and pretend they don't exist. It exposes a problem in this country, but the snobs just wrinkle their noses and push it away. I thought the show was hilarious. It told me how NOT to be.  (May 19, 2009 | post #45)

Prosecution : Prosecution News and Photos

I just can't believe that the divorce hearing wasn't even considered in the ORIGINAL investigation into Savio's death. What were they thinking. Was it Peterson's pull as an ex-cop that influenced the investigation? It's not a weak motive when you consider how much Peterson stood to lose.  (May 15, 2009 | post #54)

Blogger Perez Hilton pans Miss California's gay marriage ...

Anyone gets vicious when they feel like their rights are being taken away... gay, straight, black, white... The gay men that I have interacted with have been pleasant. It seems like you got into a bit of propaganda. Go out and hang with some of these guys and you'll see they're human beings like the rest of us.  (Apr 22, 2009 | post #241)

Blogger Perez Hilton pans Miss California's gay marriage ...

I disagree with Miss California's view, but she shouldn't be persecuted for her beliefs as Perez Hilton seems to be doing. If she lied and said she believed gay marriage should be legal, and he voted for her, then what does that say about our society? That if we lie we get what we want?  (Apr 22, 2009 | post #181)

Obama lifts restrictions on Cuban-Americans visiting the ...

A lot of these countries import goods from the US anyway, so in a way we're helping ourselves by creating consumers in other countries. Besides, Cuban Americans should have the right help out their relatives by sending them money legally earned in the US. Opening up relations with Cuba could be a positive step in helping Cuban citizens. Don't get me wrong. I hate the Castros. But on the news they were also talking about easing restrictions on telecommunications companies doing business in Cuba. Can you imagine the information that would flow in and out of that country. If you want to spread capitalism to Cuba, this is the way to do it. Fidel Castro is on his last leg. When Cubans get a taste of democracy... viva la revolution  (Apr 14, 2009 | post #27)

First Jack Black, now Seth Rogen. Hollywood needs to conserve our "funny fat slob" archetype characters so they don't get spent too quickly.  (Apr 10, 2009 | post #8)

His farther is worried about his son's health, that he could die in jail... I'd be more worried about pedestrians if his son gets set free. Like the two that he killed in Ft. Lauderdale. His father doesn't care about them, nor does he care about justice. He probably would care more if the tables were turned and it was his son that was killed.  (Apr 10, 2009 | post #59)

A ticked-off Billy Bob Thornton gives a very bad radio in...

Give me a break. I'm willing to bet the band members were hoping that Billy Bob's fame was going to help them market their music. You don't get into a project with an A-list actor and expect the band not to revolve around him. The radio host should have known the boundaries, I agree with that. But for Billy Bob to **** about it and ruin the interview was a bit rude. If he cared so much about his bandmates getting out from under his shadow, he should quit the band and consider a solo career  (Apr 10, 2009 | post #44)

Chicago Olympics: Tourists get a jump on IOC judges

They obviously didn't take these tourists to the 'right' neighborhoods. It's almsot like Fidel Castro giving US celebrities a tour of Cuba... stick with the clean parts but don't show them the impoverished areas.  (Apr 2, 2009 | post #21)
