Geez, if I had known you were going to make that comment, I would've saved the neck from the thanksgiving turkey. But I am having crab stuffed salmon tonite for dinner. (11 hrs ago | post #177)

Shooter Now: Could Minnesota Vikings use star power to land sta...
The problem is all these anti-stadium comments come from people who can't see beyond the nose on their face. In other words, myopic vision, mostly coming from a short circuit in the brain material surrounded by a very thick cranium. Glasses won't help. (Yesterday | post #18)
Conservatives hammer Mike Huckabee over shooting
First of all and most important is the loss their families must feel over this senseless act of violence. Next for a Governor to issue clemency to a life long criminal is in its self a criminal act. Finally, now another Republican candidate for President bites the dust. By the way Huckabee, your political career is now completely finished. By the time all these pretenders to the 2012 GOP Presidential nomination self destruct, they might as well just skip having a convention. It's like having a party and no one shows up. Tiger Woods issues statement on crash
As a little sidelight to this small tale of woe, I understand this alleged girlfriend he was allegedly cavorting with husband, died in the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York City. (Monday | post #59)
Tom Powers: Private Tiger hits tree-wood in public
To me this is entertainment. But I have a couple of comments. I saw pictures of the accident. All the damage to the car was right front. Why was it necessary to break windows to get Woods out of the driver's side door? The driver's side suffered no damage and he should have been able to exit the vehicle on his own or at least attempt to open the door. The only thing I can think of is when the car is in gear, doors automatically lock and when he hit the tree the car was still in gear. Regarding property damage, I also live in a gated community with private streets (not anywhere even close to the palatial mansions of the type where he lives). What will happen is the HOA will fix all the community property plus anything damaged on the neighbors property will all get billed to his vehicle insurance carrier. Tiger just won't get his 10% discount this year on his car insurance because of this accident. Hope in this tough economy he can handle that financial adjustment to his income. (Monday | post #10)
Tiger Woods issues statement on crash
When a person is such a huge celebrity such as Tiger Woods and there is such an unusual situation such as this, people have an absolute right to be curious when an incident such as this occurs. For instance the claim was made that his wife broke the back window to get him out, but why were both windows on the rear doors broke? Like I said on an earlier post, his statement was classic "damage control". His image is so carefully crafted that when he swears or slams his golf club in disgust because of a bad shot, the earth shakes in disbelief. He is a great golfer, but his status has been raised to a near cult worshiping, but he is a human being just like everyone else. And subject to the frailties that all humans do. (Sunday | post #46)
Tiger Woods issues statement on crash
What it says about Tiger is why is he so reluctant to meet with FHP? Three times he has refused to meet with them. Why is the obviously contrived statement issued by Woods through a secondary source (his web site)and not in person? There are questions that his fans would like answered. When a person becomes as famous as Tiger Woods, anything he does out of the ordinary becomes world wide news. So these questions are entirely valid: _ Where he was going at that time of the night? _ How did he lose control of his SUV at such a speed that the air bags didn't deploy? _ Why were both rear windows of the Cadillac Escalade smashed? _ If it was a careless mistake, why not speak to state troopers trying to wrap the investigation? Simple, logical questions that deserve an answer. (Sunday | post #32)
Tiger Woods issues statement on crash
A very well crafted bland statement issued by Tiger Woods over the internet of course, not in person and well written by either his attorney or management company. I believe the term is called "damage control". (Sunday | post #18)

What this story shows is the power of a NFL football franchise has and how it effects everyday people. Those opposed to building a new stadium that will last for generations have a problem. They can't see beyond the nose on their face. (Sunday Nov 29 | post #5)
Military divorces up again in 9th year of war
Several thoughts. first it would have been nice if the story had mentioned what the overall national divorce rate is. Second it is another sad example of what has turned out to be a huge waste of human beings, money and resources this phony Iraq war has turned out to be. And as far as Afghanistan and the Taliban, we are right back to square one or maybe even worse. The effects of this crap Bush/Cheney stuck on the American people will be felt for generations. The other thing is the middle east is a quagmire of quicksand and the US will never come out ahead in that culture that allows religious clerics to have that much mind control over individuals. Tom Powers: Timberwolves in full retreat to bad old days
No one wants to admit this team has been a failure and maybe they will get slightly better, but this franchise has been a complete bust right from the start. The NBA should just fold this team and the Nets at the end of the season and reduce the total number of teams in the league. The Wolves have been the door mat of the league with no real hope of improving. Too bad because Minnesota fans have been more than patient waiting for something competitive to evolve and deserve better than what this organization always seems to produce. Great observation, however in order to not be completely redundant, I did change a couple of words. Hopefully Jackson can learn the tools that are needed to be a quality QB like Young apparently has at Tennessee. (Thursday Nov 26 | post #29)
Minnesota Vikings thankful now that Jay Cutler isn't their quar...
Yesterday I looked up Cutler's QB rating as of the 10th week of the season. 76.2. And so called "expert" fans were pushing for the Vikings to sign him. I wonder if these are the same "expert" fans that want the Vikings to dump Jackson. On another thought. Where is that "expert" fan from Phoenix who was going to commit hari kari because the Vikes signed Favre? Awfully quiet where I-10 meets I-17. (Thursday Nov 26 | post #13)
