Eagles put quick end to Minnesota Vikings' playoff plans

Rumor has it that Minnesota is trying to trade for Matt Hassleback. He's a smart, accurate quarterback with decent arm strength. But he's also coming off an injury-riddled season; he's clearly an upgrade over what's there now. It's clear that something has to be done at that position. Going into last season, the big question in Packerland was about Aaron Rodgers. Could he go from clipboard caddy to Brett Favre successor? Well, despite the disappointing team record, Aaron Rodgers is one of the bright young QB stars. There are teams in the NFL, including all 3 NFC North rivals, who would give their right arm for Rodgers. John David Booty is not the answer. Neither is Favre. Hasslebeck could be. So could the Pats QB. Heck, Michael Vick or Kerry Collins might be available next year. Best of luck in any case. All that talent and Pro Bowl players won't get you anywhere without a decent QB.  (Jan 8, 2009 | post #355)

Klink and TJOKE!!!! I love it. Being in Green Bay all year, I don't get to hear your cute little pet names for your sports 'heroes'.  (Jan 5, 2009 | post #323)

Those of you wishing for Zygi Wilf to grow some nads and fire Brad Childress can forget it. By winning the division, not only will Childress return, but he might even get a contract extension. This is great news for all of us who bask in the glow of every Viking mis-step. And to think I was upset about losing perennial punching bag Mike Tice in favor of Childress 3 years ago. Wow was that a lot of worry over nothing.  (Jan 5, 2009 | post #321)

Okay, this is funny. I hate the Metrodome even more than I hate the Vikings, and that's saying something. Since 1969, the Vikes have had the most trips to the postseason (23) of any NFC Central/North team. Since they started playing in the Homer Dome (1981?), their dominance in that area hasn't subsided. So dome or no dome, they are still the same team. Successful overall, but never able to win the ultimate prize. Are they worthy of a new stadium? I think so. Will that bring a title? Probably not. But it couldn't hurt.  (Jan 5, 2009 | post #320)

I was in the Twin Cities on New Year's Day and saw a plethora of Viking gear being sported by you bandwagoners for one last weekend. Congratulations on barely making the game a sellout and subjecting the entire metro area to that sad excuse for football. Next time there's a chance for a blackout, take it!  (Jan 5, 2009 | post #312)
