Quinn signs tougher gun law

Although, you make valid points and I am quite familiar with the NRA's stance on safety and education the problem is who is going to deem a person as a "gang member" or not. My point is, this is now a sticky situation that will now give prosecutors carte blance on throwing "illegal possession by a gang member" on every weapons charge. I can already see it, prosecutors asking for a former gang member or someone who is a family member to a gang member to receive 10 years for gun possession. It is when this happens the NRA will (and should) send in the attorneys and claim abuse of the "right to bear arms". I personally dont care about criminals being locked up for a long time for illegal gun possession but I sure don't want someone's rights being taken away or facing a harsh sentence because of guilt by association, heresay or previous life choices.  (45 min ago | post #12)

Quinn signs tougher gun law

And where are you going to put these criminals? In the already overcrowded prisons in Illinois? This law will be struck down on the grounds of being unconstitutional. I am sure the NRA attorneys are already drooling at taking this to court.  (18 hrs ago | post #2)

Obama's Afghanistan Speech: No Mention of "Victory"

You need to put down the crack pipe! Obama spoke on many occasions during his run for office, that one of his top priorities was on the safe removal of troops as quickly as possible from both country's. He even went as far, in a speech in Illinois, as saying he heard the people loud and clear and that if elected he would begin the removal of troops immediately. Why don't you do a little search on You-tube about your messiahs backpedaling!  (Wednesday | post #47)

Obama's Afghanistan Speech: No Mention of "Victory"

Obama runs for election on bringing home our troops quickly from Iraq and Afghanistan and now he is sending more troops over, I love it! I can already see his 2012 campaign slogan; "I'll say anything to get elected, Please don't make me a one term President, Please!" I can't wait for the libs to start crying over this but I am sure all they will do is blame Bush for us being in this position.  (Wednesday | post #39)

How Can We Still Trust the Climate Scientists?

I wish I had a dollar for every person who trashed me when I said "global warming" was a hoax and was being pushed by special interest groups who were funded by left-wing nuts, on other posts. However, I don't seem to see them replying now that their supposed superior scientists have been caught with their pants down.  (Wednesday | post #113)

ND Fires WeisIrish seek new coach

I hope ND does it's homework and doesn't waste time on hiring someone who has no experience in real college football. No more Pro coaches and no more small division I or division II coaches, we want a real coach. My advice is spend the money and go out and get an Urban Meyer or a Bob Stoops and don't waste time on a Brian Kelly.  (Monday Nov 30 | post #1)

US Politics

Obama Job Approval Down to 49%

Oops, that would be two wars that he said during his presidential campaigning he would bring our troops home immediately if he were elected. Don't worry I remembered that little detail.  (Monday Nov 23 | post #538)

Bears suffer another close loss

The highlight of the game... Devin Hester mooning the stadium as his pants get pulled down by a defender (no flag though, nice job refs) on another missed reception. I might have missed it as the play was so quick but nice camera work by NBC and the crew who played it back slo-mo so we could see everything. The funny thing is, I have not heard one news story on it...  (Monday Nov 23 | post #2)

Prison

Report: Ill. prison deal could create 3,000 jobs

3000 jobs, bullshit! More along the lines of 600-800. Not that this many jobs is bad but what are the inherent risks? Terrorists storming a farming community and taking over, hardly! but then again who would have thought that they could have strategically commanded 3 commercial flights and taken out two highrises in a major city, not I. I say keep GITMO open and just leave them there. It's not like Obama would look bad by breaking one of his campaign promises, he has been breaking them since he took office.  (Monday Nov 23 | post #20)

US Politics

Obama Job Approval Down to 49%

Obviously a hell of a lot more than you do, if you think Obama is anywhere near 49% approval rate! This man has not only pissed off the GOP but has managed to anger his own party by backpeddling on many issues he ran on in the election.  (Monday Nov 23 | post #498)

Prison

White House: Gitmo transfers mean jobs

What a joke! Of course if you open the prison to terrorists it will create jobs but not 3,000 like the White House is saying. Jobs that they are including in this figure would be sub-contracted jobs that would be temporary and only filled by people who most likely are working anyway for a contractor. A more realistic figure is in the neighborhood of 600-800 jobs on a permanent basis. Of course the true number of jobs is good but what is the inherent cost? A possibility that terrorists could converge on a farming community and take over, hardly realistic, but then again who would have thought they could have commanded three planes and destroyed buildings in a major city, not I. I say just leave them where they are at and Obama should not worry about going back on his campaign promise to close GITMO, he has been breaking all of his campaign promises since he took office.  (Monday Nov 23 | post #1)
