Orlando car buyers have fuel-efficiency on minds

Iím not trying to convince you of anything. I was just asking the question because I would like to find a place that I can go to read the promises that the current people running for president are making regardless of whether they are demarcate or republican. I wasnít asking so we could get into a political debate trust me Iím just not into that. I just find it difficult to find out about our candidates without having opinion in with what may or may not be facts.  (Mar 25, 2008 | post #163)

How do you know the person that you are going to or not going to vote in will deliver without them first making the promise on what they are going to deliver? President after President made promises before they were elected but one can never be sure that once they are elected they will make good on the promise. Can you list promises that were made that were delivered on or via versa? BTW good for you on actually doing something. I get tired of listening to people B*tch about stuff and then donít even do anything about it. Iíll admit I have done it too. However, keep in mind that not everyone has $10,000 to invest in something like thatÖ  (Mar 20, 2008 | post #161)

If there was a lynch mob after them then they would be caught. If it were me and I felt I didn't do anything wrong damn right I would come forward so that I can clear my name...but then again I'm not a coward nor would I do anything that stupid. You got me on the news part but at the same time their friends wouldn't watch the news either or maybe they don't have any friends because they abuse their kid...so many options so little time.  (Mar 6, 2008 | post #120)

I know it hurts to watch but watch it again and try to clear your mind. This is for all you people that think this is NOT ABUSE. Watch how the lady with the hose sprays the little girl then stops gets into her face and talks to her and the sprays her in the face (probably because the little girl didnít give her the right answer). She does this at least 3 timesÖstops spraying and talks and then sprays again. You can clearly see in the video that the little girl was wearing blue shorts and a white shirt. There is no stain on the back of her shorts nor is there one on her white shirt so the accident idea is out of the question. So letís say that you canít see the stains but there was an accident, then why is she spraying her in the face and chest and not just the lower half of the body? Even if there was an accident parents take their child into the bathroom with the towel and extra clothes and clean her off like she is what she is a HUMAN BEING! The gas station for this car wash is right next to it and there is an entrance to a subdivision and an apartment complex how did no one see this. Iíll bet they live right there!  (Mar 6, 2008 | post #99)

Cable & Satellite

Bright House Networks and Channel 6 feud heats up

First, let me say thank you for the Neilsen Ratings infoÖthey have a very cool website and it was really neat to look at the ratings. You are correct that the local stations are the must watched. But I can tell you now I don't watch the local stations on the weekends and durning the summer. Second, you are correct in the fact that BH charges their cuomers (I mean duh). However, you are incorrect that they are charging me for local channels as you have yet to prove. However, what I am being charged for is this: the cost of operating and maintaining the cable TV system so that their signals can reach subscribers homes. Additional fees and taxes are often tacked on by local, state, and federal governments. I have no problem paying to receive a crisp/clear picture, understand though that this is what Iím paying for Iím still not paying for the local channel itself. Third, again you are wrong about the converter and I canít completely understand why you havenít researched the answers but let me give you some DIRECTLY from BH website: http://cfl.mybrigh thouse.com/custome r_care/product_FAQ s/cable/dtv.aspx Q4: Will it impact Bright House Networks customers? A4: Bright House Networks customers will not be affected by the digital transition as long as all of their TVs are plugged into our system. Bright House Networks already has the system in place to ensure that customers do not need to take any action. You will NOT need a retail Digital-to-Analog converter for any TV plugged into cable. Q12: How will the nationís TV-viewing public learn about the digital transition? A12: The National Cable & Telecommunications Association launched a three- part consumer education campaign called Get Ready for Digital TV, including public service announcements for broadcast and cable that airs September 2007 Ė February 2009, an educational Web site www.getreadyfordig italtv.com, and distribution of customer communication materials for cable systems. Q13: What measures are in place (or will be in place) to help low income consumers navigate through the digital transition? A13: In addition to the consumer education campaign, which will be in both English and Spanish, all U.S. households will be eligible to request up to two coupons, worth $40 each, to be used toward the purchase of up to two, digital-to-analog converter boxes between Jan. 1, 2008, and March 31, 2009. Q14: What is the contact information for consumers who may need financial help? A14: 1-888-DTV-2009 or visit www.ntia.doc.gov/d tvcoupon. Q15: Who should consumers call if they need technical help? A15: For techincal help, consumers can use the connections guide on the Consumer Electronics Association web site, www.ceaconnections guide.com or send an email to cekh@cyberscholar. com or call the CEAís customer service line at (866) 858-1555. As you can clearly see there is NOTHING about customers being charged extra for this transition. AND if in Feb 2009 my bill does in fact go up I will know why, but I donít see that happening. Also note the fact that BH is not selling/renting any type of converter, but they are giving out the information for the coupon and for the help. AND since BH customers do not need the converter BH really didnít have to put this information on their website. Also note Q12, if the public doesnít get it with all the information out there then well what can you do.  (Mar 6, 2008 | post #203)

You really are a moron. It is not ďIĒ that has the burden of proof, but you, as you are the one that stated I already pay for the local channels but never had anything to back it up. Correct, I donít like your answers because they are not based on fact but your very low educated guess. You are right in the fact that BH charges me the same per month no matter what channel I watch but as I stated before I feel as if Iím getting what I pay for. You are the one that continues to argue a point that you just cannot back. Iím not responsible for the thousands of other people out there that are not listening to the news or reading the paper in which clearly states that if you have cable you do not need a converter. Thanks to BH though a lot of people who have there service who may not have known now do because they have a commercial dedicated to informing their customers that they DO NOT need one. NowÖI believe this discussion that you started and have yet to prove is over.  (Mar 5, 2008 | post #200)

See now look what you are doingÖyou could give me the answer to my questions so youíre going to answer everything with a question. As I said before I get what I pay for and until you can PROVE Iím paying for local channels, all your comments are not valid. You also have really made your self look dumb because you just told me Iím paying to rent a digital converter which I AM not. If you were up on technology you would know that the only people that need a digital converter are the people who do not have cable at all. Meaning they get ALL their channels from rabbit ears. If you have cable you donít need one because everything is done via the cable company. Give me some real facts or as I said beforeÖSTFU  (Mar 4, 2008 | post #190)

Wow, are you that big of a moron? You commented on what I said remember and besides, what in my first comment do you see as a complaint? I just simply said what I was going to do if BH took away WKMGs signal. The proof is not in the bill unless you can show the cost I pay for my local broadcasting. Here is something very simple for you, show me a package with ANY cable company in any state that just offers local broadcasting and tell me what the price is. Saying the same thing over and over again doesn't make it right.  (Mar 3, 2008 | post #187)

WKMG-Channel 6 and Bright House negotiate as clock winds ...

I keep seeing WKMG say itís not that much it penniesÖthen why do they never say exactly how much they are asking for? Perhaps if we knew all the details WKMG ďmightĒ (now I said might) not look like greedy butt faces, but nope we get the ďwe can discuss the detailsĒ. Iíve got not problem waiting for the shows I watch on CBS to come out on DVD, thatís why I have Netflix. I canít see how WKMG will win even if they get the money we will remember. Oh and to the Orlando Sentinel...this story was crap and you should have used a better title seeing as this had nothing to do with the BH thing at all.  (Feb 29, 2008 | post #15)

Yes, I do get a bill from BH and I have checked it. I donít need an itemized bill from them because ďIĒ feel Iím getting what I pay for. Iím telling YOU to get an itemized bill because YOU feel as if people are paying for local channels but you have no proof. Get some proof and then lets talk, but until then you have no substantiation to back your comment.  (Feb 29, 2008 | post #184)
