Las Crucen seeks more disabled parking enforcement

My-my, yet ANOTHER DO-GOODER without a life and he is from Texas no less! Maybe Ross should find something worthwhile to keep busy and stop trying to make a name for himself! There are plenty of other worthwhile issues that need his so-called 'expertise', like maybe rampant crime, rampant teen pregnancies, rampant and out of control drunk drivers to just name a few! Get off you duff Ross and do SOME REAL GOOD for your new community instead of bothering people in parking lots...geeez, give me a break!  (Aug 15, 2010 | post #28)

Bank exec back in jail after DWI arrest

It's about time..., throw the book at him..., get a tough Judge (if you can find one) and lock up the SOB for a hundred years! For crying out loud ten DUI's, what does that teach our high school and college students..., it's perfectly alright to drink, drive get picked up on DUI and keep doing it for nine more times..., I do not understand our Great State of New Mexico that hollers about DUI, DWI and then let's some totally **** rack up 10 DUI's!  (Jun 9, 2010 | post #2)

Bank executive arrested for 10th DUI

10th DUI...OMG, what in the h--l are our Judges doing letting this **** get away with 10 DUI's! What is our judicial system doing to allow this to happen and on top of all that this **** is a bank official..., and there are people out there that are trusting him with their money! Both the guy who committed the offense and the judge who has let him go free 9 times in a row should be taken out and well you know what! This whole episode of 10 DUI is totally unacceptable and he and the Judge should be punished!  (Jun 3, 2010 | post #15)

City budget calls for spending cut, salary hikes

If the city of Las Cruces will have significant HEALTHY BUDGET SURPLUS then the city administration NEEDS to GIVE BACK and FUND Cell Phones for our Law Enforcement officials. It is a SMALL price to pay to allow those hard working, dedicated personnel that put their lives on the line day in and day out to provide the proper tools to get the job done and keep us all, to include them SAFE!  (May 18, 2010 | post #3)

Radios meant for ranchers are still in storage

I must say how stupid and ignorant is this debacle! Radio's meant for Rancher commuication for their SAFETY and WELFARE while out on their ranges very close to our porus border CANNOT communicate! The problem has been on the books since 2005 and this is now May 2010 and STILL NO ACTION by our county or state officials! Are we going to continue to standby and wait until another Rancher is murdered by drug runners and ILLIGEL hispanics from mexico or are we finally going to do something about the problem NOW! The problem now is the communication equipment purchased in 2005 is probably outdated and OF COURSE we will have to purchase up to date equipment! That will entail another beauracratic out cry that funds are not avialable...GIVE ME A BREAK! Excuses, excuses, excuses are all that we get on our US border and nothing gets solved except for more poor excuses from Teaque, and our other two Senators...GIVE ME A BREAK...WE WANT AND DEMAND ACTION not excuses, committies, hearing and more excuses!  (May 17, 2010 | post #23)

LCPD stats show continued rise in crime

Maybe it has something to do with the STUPID decision by our city administration to collect and remove all cell phones from law enforcement. The city can build a new city hall, purchase new furniture for the building then build a parking area closer to city hall so people do not have to walk so far...,heaven forbid, we would not want our obese and overfed city administration to get a little exercise. Then the city turns right around and gripes that the city cannot afford to provide cell phones to our brave and hard working law enforcement officers/detectives! The city Manager and the Mayor's pitiful excuse were not worth printing. GIVE OUR OFFICERS BACK THEIR CELL PHONES and maybe the crime rate will go back down to where it was!  (May 16, 2010 | post #9)

Search is on for suspect who hit Anthony cyclist

I am so sorry this gentleman was hit and run while cycling in El Paso and I pray the person who hit him is found soon and punished. However, as I have found here in La Mesa New Mexico there are cyclists from Las Cruces who continually break every riding rule in the book. Especially the one where by they ride four and five abreast while traveling at very slow speed. Some of them weave back and forth and a vehicle driver never knows where they are going on the road. Some just don't give a damn about rules of the road. Soon there will be an accident involving cycle and automobile and of course there will be a loud cry from the cyclist community. I would suggest whoever runs that community take the bull by the horn and begin training EVERY CYCLIST in Dona Ana county on the NM Cycle Rules of the Road. Training every so often is always good for everyone even if they think they are Gods gift to the cycle world!  (May 16, 2010 | post #6)

Mayor changes mind on Ariz. law

I for one am glad our Mayor has finally had the foresight to actually read Arizona's new Immigration bill and then change his mind in favor of the new law. During his campaign for Mayor I fully supported Ken Miyagishima and was saddened when I learned that he was not in support of the new AZ bill. It does my heart good that he is now in favor as is most of the country. One reason he changed his mind is he ACTUALLY read the AZ immigration bill, now if everyone else would do the same thing there would not be so much consternation. Did anybody actually think that a state of the United States would single out and discriminate on the basis of color alone...,give me a break! Regardless of what you hear about discrimination in this great country of ours we have come a long way! We need to TAKE BACK our Southern borders and save our country from ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION! Enough of the free handouts to those who DO NOT WANT TO FOLLOW OUR RULES of entry into this country. I you want to enter our country and play by the rules then we will make sure you are welcomed with open arms...,otherwise STAY OUT and if you are here illegally then you should ALL be rounded up, put on buses and dropped off at the border for processing out of this country...,end of sentence!  (May 12, 2010 | post #76)

Two arrested after breaking into apartment and finding gu...

Maybe sooner rather than later our so called Las Cruces criminals will realize the general populace will continue to protect lives and property by means of legal fire arms in our homes, on our person and in our vehicles! I urge all citizens to attend a concealed weapons course and apply for a NM Concealed License. The young man with his .357 was quite legal and the criminals were very lucky they were not shot. A job well done for keeping his cool and not causing bodily harm however, he had all the right in this state to kill both of them!  (Apr 24, 2010 | post #85)

City council: City to set fines for cell phone violations

Before there is a vote I suggest someone research the larger cities that have enacted this ordnance and they will find there is absolutely no change in accidents! There were several articles in the news no so long ago that established this fact! Money for the city is the driver behind this upcoming law that I am sure will be enacted! As far as the red light camera's, I fully support them and have personally seen a marked difference at the intersections that have them installed.  (Jan 31, 2010 | post #1)

Sound Off! (Dec. 28)

That's a new twist to the ammo shortage that I did not realize! This would explain a lot of our ammo shortage and would bring to light why the administration has backed off completely from pursuing gun control in the normal democrat fashion. Maybe our NRA and other like organizations should bring this to the forefront of everybody in our great country. Before this happens I for one would like to see concrete evidence (not rumor or foxy news) that what the gentleman says has validity. As a 2 amendment supporter and a citizen who will protect family and property the 'real truth' needs to come out! This country has gone way over the top with stories of all kinds that cannot be verified and are out right lies! If our current administration is manipulating the ammunition community to thwart the use of home protection and normal god given hunting rights then we need to yell to high heaven!  (Jan 7, 2010 | post #39)
