Rangers talk back

I disagree. They didn't over pay for Drury. He would have gotten similar money anywhere he went. That was the market value so the price was fair. I was surprised at how much they gave Gomez though. That said, I expect he'll score more goals and assist more on the Rangers than with the Devils because he won't be sitting back as much.  (Jul 2, 2007 | post #3370)

Happy times IMO. I still would like to get another defenseman though.  (Jul 2, 2007 | post #3369)

Islanders talk back

I know I spent alot of time in here last season giving Islander fans a hard-time but hey, that's how we have fun right? In all seriousness, I can imagine how Islander fans are feeling right now. I think there is only one person to blame and that is the owner and GM. They rarely spend money and when they have, their decisions have been questionable. To have gambled on Smyth at a time when the Islanders were a huge question mark to make the post season (and let's face it, it was a miracle that they did) and also, facing the need to re-sign Blake, was just a huge mistake. What I never understood with Islander fans was how they talk about "big market" teams when your own team IS IN A BIG MARKET. You can't blame anyone for signing with the highest bidder. We'd all do the same thing. As a Ranger fan, I've seen my share of huge contracts blow up in our faces but at least they took the shot in those cases. That said, I can't wait for Sather to be gone. I think Wang will see the end-result of the events of the last two days next season when there will be even fewer fans in the seats. Good luck.  (Jul 2, 2007 | post #14482)

Hmm. Chips in the puck. I'd imagine issues with the chips suffering damage from impact and even temperature. But it's probably more developed than I give it credit for.  (May 3, 2007 | post #2972)

Great logic j$#koff. You'd rather not be nominated at all? Get DiPietro to stay in the crease and maybe he'll get the nod next time. Oh and so much for the Rangers getting swept by Buffalo so **** lander fans can gloat that they beat the Sabres once. They came into your house and kicked your dog twice.  (May 2, 2007 | post #12944)

Mike, I've always said they have to figure out how to create a clear-bottom net. Just the section under the net should be plexi glass or something. And then, put a camera under it. Nothing will ever get in the way again. No water bottles, not the net, not even skates. Think about it. That area is out of play anyway. So it doesn't have to be ice. Difficult I know but possible.  (May 2, 2007 | post #2911)

1 But I don't know if I agree it was a blown call. I didn't see the game last night and I just got to work and saw it on ESPN.com. If you need inconclusive evidence to overturn the call, then they got it right because it doesn't look over the line to me. Close but not completely over.  (May 2, 2007 | post #2910)

Aw, I got under your skin. Go wash your DiPietro jersey ya pole smoker. Say hello to your mom for me while we're at it. Tell her I lost my ring the other night.  (May 1, 2007 | post #2817)

Well, I think that's why not just anyone can play here. In any sport. The Malik thing is so typical too. I'd just started appreciating his play in the latter part of the season and the playoffs, until that ridiculous blind clear attempt through the middle of the ice. It cost the Rangers the lead, maybe the game and could be the difference in the series. Still, if he scores a PP goal tonight in the 3rd period and gives the Rangers the win, we'll all love him again. Fickle but honest. At least Ranger fans show up though. There's more of us than Islander fans when they play in there house too.  (May 1, 2007 | post #2816)

What a great game. I honestly felt that if the Rangers lost that game, everyone in the Garden should have stood up and given them a Standing-O. And thanks to the win, now Tuesday becomes the biggest game at the Garden in 13 years. Add to that, the fact that there are **** fans everywhere trying to figure out ways that the NHL hates their team and other ridiculous of "proving " the Asslanders are better and had a better season, and you have a great, great night for hockey. So, can we put that notion to rest **** fans? You can't finish lower in the standings and win only one game in the playoffs while getting waxed in round one, AND argue your team is better.  (Apr 30, 2007 | post #2772)
