Should Romney win, get ready for a national temper tantrum by the easily mislead. (Nov 4, 2012 | post #1)
The very same man who took to the Senate floor to denounce US troops in Iraq as "Nazis". (Oct 22, 2012 | post #1)
the police just didn't show up there by coincidence. someone called. regardless of who called the illinois domestic violence act of 1986 mandates that during a domstic situation, if one party makes a claim of physical abuse/violence and there are minimal signs that violence has occured, then arrest is mandatory. if no arrest is made, and someone gets hurt or killed then the police officer is liable. (May 24, 2012 | post #12)
I donot how the rest of you think about this story, but I, for one, have had it with the Illinois legislature-both sides of it. Anytime a corporation threatens to leave Illinois, the buffoons in Springfield magically come up with a tax break to keep them in Illinois. Where is my tax break? When does the working class get a break from these self-serving buffoons in Springfield? “The approach we have with respect to taxes on businesses isn’t working,” Cross said at a Capitol news conference." Really Cross? Try this on for size, The entire approach to taxes in Illinois isn't working for ANYONE! Maybe it is time to throw them ALL out. (Dec 15, 2011 | post #1)
Do you have a song for about the socialist? (Nov 21, 2011 | post #9)
Same thing for the State of Illinois (Nov 18, 2011 | post #2)
I, like many other people, have to have a budget. Why in the world does the federal government believe they do not need one? 2 things-1) Budgets are for the real world, 2) I would be more open to a tax increase if the Feds were compelled to have a balanced budget. (Nov 18, 2011 | post #1)
I think we all can say that there are parts of the OWS that we support and some things we don't. I think ANTIOCH RES sums it up nicely, " I am one of the little guys getting raked over the coals by banks, mortgage companies, insurance companies and the government." I am also glad to see that even though the Dems have tried to co-opt the protest, the OWS isn't really letting them get a chance to use the OWS paltform to further their party agenda. I would like to see OWS DC head on over to Fannie and Freddie Mac and give them some much deserved attention. (Nov 18, 2011 | post #26)
The message at the begining was clear enough about the execs got a pass while the rest of America had to ante up for the losses. OWS had clear support of the public. They lost the support when the anarchist got into their ranks and violence was the rule of the day. It appears, at least in Chicago, that the original purpose of the Occupy movement was in control of the protest. No violence or destruction, heck, I haven't heard of any of the criminal incidents that have taken place around the country at other protest nationally, happening in Chicago. No sexual assaults, injuries to other persons, etc. I also think that the banks need to explain to the American taxpayer, where and what they did with the bailout money. They have refused to tell even Congress where it went. I fear that they have used the money to prop up European junk bonds, if that is the case, then there will be another world-wide depression/recession. (Nov 18, 2011 | post #25)
I would say this about the price. What if it was your business or property that had been damaged. Do you think you should have to pay for the damage to be repaired for something you had no control? On the other hand I think many on wall street need to be indicted, and stand trial for their irresponsible actions that tanked the economy. Yet not one has been indicted by the DOJ, or any other law enforcement agency. Why? I don't disagree with some of the things OWS is saying or trying to say. (Nov 18, 2011 | post #20)
Forgot to add: Thanks for your input. (Nov 18, 2011 | post #19)
In the end both political parties have become corrupt. Both feeding endlessly at the public trough to nourish whatever issue is dear to them. I do agree the middle class is shrinking. As for the flag emblem, you might not like my other heritage flag. Both emblems my ancestors fought under, as well as other subsequent American flags. It is for me, noone else. (Nov 18, 2011 | post #7)
Don't throw your "race" card at me. I do not care if it means nothing to you-wasn't suppose to. If you libs are suppose to be as tolerant as you all claim you are, then it doesn't matter what I think or what I do or do not do. As a progressive you just have to tolerate it. LOL (Nov 18, 2011 | post #17)
I've got no problem with a "little rabble rousing". I draw the line when public and private property are destroyed or damaged. (Nov 18, 2011 | post #16)
