Business Owners Raise More Complaints About Yelp

We have a General Building Contracting business. We have way fewer clients than a restaurant, etc since a custom home can take many months to complete. We just got our first Yelp review and it was a glowing 5 star. I just went to reread it and it was gone. I finally noticed in very faint letters "one filtered review". We get most clients from either word of mouth or repeat clients, so we will not advertise with Yelp. I had no idea that Yelp was such a scam.  (Oct 14, 2012 | post #80)

Diverticulitis

Chills?

I've read many times of people talking about the dreaded "chills" . What do they signify? I am near the end of my second round of Cipro (will be 20 days total). I still have an ache off and on ...left lower side. I don't have a fever, but I do get chills once in awhile. My main symptom in the beginning was mucus in my stools and the ache. Stools are more normal now. Also, this is my third flare up and no one has suggested a CAT scan. I sometimes wonder if I even have diver. The meds made the symptoms clear up quicker the first two times. Since the meds seem to work does that point to my problem being diver for sure? Also, I did eat a small handful of popcorn two days before my latest flare up after not having any at all since my first one. My second flare I blamed on sesame crackers. All three times there was also great stress involved. First bout was March of '09, second was Aug. '09 and third about two and half weeks ago. Does this sound like normal diver "history "?  (Sep 13, 2010 | post #1)

Seeds

I went a year without a problem, but have it now. At first I avoided all seeds...even tomato, cucumber, etc. About two weeks before my recent flare I ate a seeded roll and two days before I ate a small handful of popcorn. Not sure which of those caused my problem. I think I probably can handle the tomato seeds, but I will never again dare to eat popcorn or as ritainapoli said, the harder seeds with husks.  (Sep 13, 2010 | post #5)

CT Scan negative now a colonoscopy

I had my colonoscopy a week ago today. I'm ninety per cent sure I heard as I was being wheeled out the doctor say that all looked good. The first available appt. for the results is June 1st, but I'm assuming if the news is at all negative or urgent they would call me before then.  (May 13, 2009 | post #11)

Susan, I am so happy that you are doing so well. My procedure is tomorrow and am I feeling a lot less nervous from what you have written. (And Scott's report, too. Wtg, Scott!) I'm still dreading the whole thing, but it is "normal dread". :-) Thanks again, Lori  (May 5, 2009 | post #9)

CT Scan negative now a colonoscopy

Our DO is really great for keeping our spine healthy and free of pain, but I really regret losing so much time with his "agitated nerve" theory. ;-) I had pretty much the same workup as you had following my b. diarrhea except for the cat scan. Blood work was good and no parasites. UC was mentioned by the MD, but he treated me for diver and not properly as I suspect from reading here. Were you still having any aches or pains (what I am thinking means I still have infection) when you had your colonoscopy? Was the UC diagnosed from your colonoscopy? Thank you so much for your response, Susan. Lori  (May 4, 2009 | post #6)

CT Scan negative now a colonoscopy

I've been "lurking and learning" here for about a month. My thanks to all of you that respond so quickly especially since many of you have more or less resolved your diver issues. I had an attack of bloody diarhea about a month ago. That was after a few months of an ache on my left side which my D.O. said was caused by an agitated nerve that was agitating my colon. After some mild diarhea a couple of mornings in a row, I went back to him and his opinion was still the same. I had the attack within a week of the mild diarhea. After the attack I went to a MD and he said it was probably diver. I had only a week of just Cipro and was given no suggestions about diet at all. I feel that since educating myself here at the forum I have kept myself from another attack, but still have an ache on my left side to one degree or another (and I have gone a few days here and there with no ache). I saw a GI and am scheduled for a colonoscopy on Wed. I was due for one anyway as my last one was 5 years ago. My question is almost the same as Scott's, but I haven't even had a CT scan. I'm a little nervous and wonder if I have an active infection will the test be harmful. Since I feel like I was treated poorly by the DO and maybe not treated correctly by the MD, I think I am beginning not to trust doctors. Would love yo hear any and all opinions. Again, thanks to you all for being here! Scott, hope all goes well for you tomorrow! Lori  (May 3, 2009 | post #4)
