Is there any love left at all?

If Johnny left and The Church of Christ did not exist in martinsville Virginia you would have just as much, if not more division. Do you think the denominations would come together if The Church of Christ was not there? baptist laugh at mormons and mormons think Jehovah's witnesses are going to hell. Is the church of which you are apart found in the scriptures?  (Mar 20, 2013 | post #8)

Have Johnny Robertson and his COC been defeated?

Johnny's family makes up the church in Martinsville? Do you all get any kind of proof on anything? Nobody is saying follow Johnny we are saying follow Christ and Christ's baptism was far from a baptist baptism. Christ's salvation consists of belief AND baptism in order to be saved, if not you will be damned. (Mark 16:16) A baptist says salvation comes on the point of belief... "Baptism, therefore, is an act of obedience, But it possesses no power in itself to remit sin, to change the heart, or to sanctify the spirit." ( Hiscox standard baptist manual P. 84) DIFFERENT. Christ's baptism added to the church. (Acts 2:41,47) Baptist denomination adds by a voting committee... "Each new member must be admitted by the free and voluntary consent and approval of those already members, usually expressed by formal vote." ( Hiscox's P. 36). That's not at all Biblical? It's man made. Christ knew men would go against him. (John 6:64) Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? (Galatians 4:16)  (Mar 20, 2013 | post #15)

Do you have an example of an opinion that has been taught? What else is used besides the Bible? Comparing reading and obeying the Bible to Jim Jones is a dangerous thing. We're not asking follow a man. We ask listen to the Bible. Christ told there would be those that were saved and those that were lost. (Matthew 7:13-14) Christ told there would be false teachers! Matthew 7:15. Are you mad at the Bible or Johnny or a man that teaches it? Of course everyone that is openly living outside of Christ is going to hate truth no matter how it is presented. ( John 3:19-21) How would you like a man to present truth? I would like to hear straight from the Bible. That's what our goal is.  (Mar 20, 2013 | post #6)

Is there any love left at all?

When I read these comments I feel sad, very sad. Honestly, when is the last time Johnny, James, Mark or Micah attacked the image of a denominational teacher? Called them names and accused them with no evidence of truth. They simply attack the doctrine which is not of God. These discussions give me one thought.. "The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works there of are evil." - John 7:7.. Words of our savior. You do not dislike Johnny or James etc.. Because of their personality or style. You dislike them because they USE THE BIBLE TO REFUTE FALSE DOCTRINE. You do not like them using the Bible for its purpose.. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for DOCTRINE, for REPROOF, for correction and for our instruction in righteousness. " 2 Timothy 3:16. The Bible is made to show truth and answer lies. I have lived with Johnny. I have talked with him about the sad state of religion. The division and malice that is in it. Paul said, "my hearts desire is that you may be saved." Romans 10:1. That's all we want. Be saved the way the Bible says. We are not our for gain, for fame and glory. We are out to fulfill a commandment. ( 2 Tim 4:2; John 16:15) Do not trust what anyone says by just their word. We use the bible not our opinions. "There is a way which seemeth right into a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death". Just because I think it's right does not mean a thing. It's what the bible says that matters. Johnny uses the Bible alone. What else would you have him do that would make him more acceptable? Paul said, "though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have no charity (love), I am nothing." 1 Corinthians 13:2. Christ prayed for unity. (John 17). Can we not be unified in order to serve and glorify God? The only way to do that is by His word. ( John 8:32, 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17). Can we not serve God the way HE has commanded? Can we not have charity now? Or have our conscience been seared? (1 Timothy 4:2).  (Mar 19, 2013 | post #1)

Are Baptist Saved?

Ha I don't guess you've seen the other posts made by ACTUAL man made denominations on here? But you didn't answer my question seeking wanderer, I like how the guys on topix tend to do that..you know, dodge the question.  (Aug 4, 2011 | post #88)

Are Baptist Saved?

Are baptist saved? Can baptist grasp the grammatical rule of a simple conjunction? If a baptists believes faith only how can they argue mark 16:16? Either they are completely dishonest or lacking fourth grade knowledge. How does one expect to get to where god is at the end of life if they wont obey gods word in this world?! More Study Needed

Why are you quoting old testament scripture for new testament worship? Eph 5:19  (Aug 4, 2011 | post #5)

Ezra 10: Johnnys Twist On Scripture

A lady once told me "I only go to the baptist church cause my parents go." it doesn't get any more traditional than that. If a person really studied they'd see that there's not multiple "colors" but only what God designates trough his word. And how do you explain denominational preacher studying the bible and teaching himself out of a church not authorized by the Word of God?  (Jul 26, 2011 | post #93)

Regardless of me being on here long enough, I was right in the fact that you use the term. Since you just admitted to saying it. Is that not right?  (Jul 25, 2011 | post #77)

Ezra 10: Johnnys Twist On Scripture

If you noticed the quotation makes you'd know I'm not saying it myself, but quoting you all. Have you also noticed you still have gone around my original question, and condemning your own phrasing? You called out to Heath to answer me, who can I call for you to answer my question?  (Jul 24, 2011 | post #73)

Ezra 10: Johnnys Twist On Scripture

Absolutely not, I would never use it..hence the quotation marks, Heath. With that type of logic we couldn't state a person says "faith only" lest someone take it as I hold that position.  (Jul 24, 2011 | post #72)

Ezra 10: Johnnys Twist On Scripture

This is why no one will debate y'all. I put church of christers in quotation marks, meaning as y'all would refer to Christians of the new Testament Church. You didn't pay attention to that and you completely deferred from answering my question.  (Jul 24, 2011 | post #67)

Ezra 10: Johnnys Twist On Scripture

If im in a church and my wife runs off and leaves me for another man in the church, I'm just supposed to deal with it? She's not going to be called on to repent? And if so, what will she have to do?...stay with the man? Is that how your doctrine would handle it? Jerry Falwell said in his liberty newspaper someone who'd been married before couldn't be a pastor. Does that make him a "Church of Christer"  (Jul 24, 2011 | post #58)
