Letter: Berkeley Syndrome comes to Oroville

Got thru the first 20 comments and just wanted to share an observation with the WalMart haters. Drove by there on Friday about 10AM. They have a fairly large parking lot which I doubt had any parking spaces available. They must be doing something right!  (Nov 28, 2010 | post #58)

Got to keep the prison guards employed. I guess every time there is an empty cell, the dope cops go out an arrest some old guy on dope charges.  (Nov 21, 2010 | post #3)

Letter: Who's paying for Walmart appeal?

Fun to read all the fighting going on. Give it up folks.. WalMart is going to build a new store. Don't like it? Don't shop there. Hit them in their cash register. End of subject  (Nov 18, 2010 | post #18)

Walmart Supercenter foe will likely appeal vote

I've been reading all your posts and shaking my head in disbelieve. I have a couple friends who work at Walmart and many times we've talked about people like yourself. They have full medical, retirement and they feel fair pay for the work they do. In fact, one is a Walmart manager and makes over $125,000 a year. Yes there are entry level positions but if you work and do your job you move up. Your problem is you listen to union lies and believe them. As far as a Super Walmart hurting other businesses, I really don't think so. Food prices and in many cases higher than FoodMax. Look at what happened when Grocery Outlet came in next to FoodMax. Both are still there and doing well. Dennys came in and I still see all the other food service operations going. I'm sorry but your objections don't fly!  (Nov 14, 2010 | post #28)

Super Walmart due before Oroville planning panel

Cabelas will NEVER come to California because of our crazy gun laws and I'm sure workmans comp laws. nd for those of you who don't like the Super WalMarts, please shop elsewhere, you create a bad air in the store.  (Nov 10, 2010 | post #29)

Letter: Going against the grain

I'm sorry Curtain Rod. You really don't have a clue about what's happening to our state. I've lived here all my life. We've been invaded by welfare folks, illegals and liberals. This state has been under the control of the Democraps for many years. Yes, we've had Republican governors but they were just figureheads and had no real power do do much. Arnold is a prime example of a worthless governor. The liberals in Sacramento have almost crushed freedom here in California. An example is all the gun laws they passed. Hasn't done much to halt crime. And Mr. Rod, it's going to get a hell of alot worse. Who is going to pay for all that unfunded government retirements?  (Nov 10, 2010 | post #29)

How about a bullet train to nowhere? Who will profit from it? The unions who bankrolled Browns win. Good comments Press 1 for English.  (Nov 10, 2010 | post #26)

Letter: Beneficial program cut by governor

With all the people on welfare and unemployment, how about using some empty government building and getting these people to watch the kids? Kinda like work for your benefits.  (Oct 31, 2010 | post #1)
