Letter to the Editor: Strong feelings on medical marijuana

if marijuana was legal, i'm prettys sure crime rate would go down, violence would go down. the only reason it is illegal is because the government can't find a way to tax it. they tax tobacco, which isn't right. they tax alcohol, which isn't right. so, why not go the route california went? they have "pot shops" in northern california, that pay federal taxes, and state taxes in upwards of $350,000 a year. 3 shops open like that, takes $1,000,000 off the top. thats a good chunk of change. and isn't that why the government does the majority of..well anything? for money? here's a way to kill two birds with one stone. help people in true pain, and lower a defecit.  (Saturday Dec 12 | post #9)

i agree with both sides of whats being said. granted, their prices are kinda high. but, on the other hand, they wouldn't still be in business if they dealt with trash cars. i've often driven through the car lot, and to be honest, most of their cars look clean. it was said above that someone probably had their car repossesed and got it back, i have to agree with that.  (Monday Dec 7 | post #9)

Letter to the Editor: Protest planned for Saturday

what i don't understand is since when was standing up for what you believe in nuts, crazy, stupid ect...? i'm sure all the smack talkers in here would stand up for whatever they believe in. be it family, religion, sports or whatever. it is not wrong or stupid or nuts to take a stand when noone else will. that makes her a stronger human being than most. i signed the list on the website. because i believe in the true meaning of christmas, does that make me wrong? not any more than you are for not believing in it. thats a spiritual problem, try fixing your own issues before knockin on other peoples strong points. take a stand for what you believe in. we as a country would not be here today if it weren't for God. agree or not, it leaves no reason for the name calling, and bashing of other peoples beliefs.  (Friday Nov 27 | post #98)
