Investigate Hampton High's Varsity Basketball

The tried to recruit my son. They had him play for a traveling team that they created around three years ago. They asked him to play on it strait out of 8th grade. But he would not go. He went to the high school that was in our community. And we swept hampton both games this year. And I don't know how but McClain does have a lot to do with it. They run it like a college. Its high school and they should not allow recruiting. Also tssaa rules states that if a child transfers in the middle of the year with out a change of address then they have to set out a year before being eligible to play. Sounds like they are seriously breaking some rules. But hey money talks. But I agree with those of you who said why punish the players. Those kids are innocent. They need to attack the authority figures like the coaches and those who bring a political approach to their athletic program. Let the kids play. But make their leaders pay. Suspend those commuting the acts and bring in some new leaders. Temperature coach until they find a permanent one. Investigate the sports politicians and suspend them from having anything to do inside Hampton athletics department. Hey I'm not a Hampton fan. My son attends another local high school. But I don't feel a staff change would effect the players that bad because Hampton produces great athletes on its own. Those kids go out and play hard till the whistle blows.  (Feb 9, 2013 | post #442)

Unaka Ranger's #12 Logan Carrier

Logan scored 19 tonight against university high in a big win for the rangers. Our bros from roan mountain beat Hampton. If unaka has to share a championship Id rather it be with cloudland. Good job highlanders.  (Feb 8, 2013 | post #15)

If you wanna see this kid he is on the front page of the sports section in the Johnson city press today. He is number 12 shooting a three pointer over a cloud land defender. And yes the shot went in.  (Feb 6, 2013 | post #11)

To lol. Yes he will make it to the next level. He has already had three colleges looking at him and his is just a JR. Sounds to me like you may be jealous. But its OK. See. When you played with him at Carl rays it was either Jr high or etown express traveling team during youth club. Or just shooting around which is far from in the game. If he is high scorer nearly every game and plays sound and solid defense then how could you say he is nothing special. Any player who accomplishes the goals that Logan, Cody McClain, and the boy from cloudland has, it makes them all special players in the wautauga conference.  (Feb 5, 2013 | post #10)

Your talking about the children of parents who are proud of their children for what they have accomplished. Who are proud to be a Unaka Ranger, or a Hampton Bull Dog, or Cloudland Highlander and proud to be from carter county. If our team don't make it then we pull for the others. We are proud of our children, and our teams. Paul, no matter if your child, grandchild, brother or sister, niece, nephew or cousin play for Unaka, Hampton, or cloudland, the one thing we all have in common is, WE ARE CARTER COUNTY!!!!!!!!!!!! And we are PROUD of our YOUTH.  (Feb 5, 2013 | post #9)

This is not logan for one. And for two if Caleb is that good then why didn't he win MVP of the year his eighth grade year. I very seriously doubt Caleb could average 20 points a game and I know he could not have jerked those shots off logan did. Should have stayed in foot ball. In basketball he is right were he needs to be. A set of lungs when someone gets tired. Obviously one who knows don't know.  (Feb 5, 2013 | post #4)

Man that kid is a dead eye shot. He is one of the best shooters in east TN. I have read in the paper and heard others say leave him open he will make you pay. I got to see him finally play against Hampton Friday night and I have to say even if you guard him he will make you pay. He popped a 3 ball in cody McClain's face drawing a foul and hitting the and one. Then a half time buzzer shot over valentine and another tall boy. When the shot went in he was sliding across the floor on his back. The kid is a dynamic ball player to say the least.  (Feb 4, 2013 | post #1)

Leave Carter County if you had the financial means to all...

Why? Its not any better somewhere else. If you go to a bigcity then you have to take all that comes with it. You may think carter county is bad but once you go and see the things going on you realize carter county may not be perfect but it's a good place to raise a family and to call home. The economy is screwed up across the board. Work places are not hiring much no matter what city or county you are in. We may have drugs and murder surfacing in our country but not to the extent that it's right out on every corner with gang violence to boot. These people around here that say they are gangs are not like real gangs on the street. Real gangs like the bloods and crips to name a couple will shoot you dead and it happens every day. We are not to that caliber yet. And i am proud of carter county. And i say we put a boot in the hind ends of anyone who tries to bring it to that!  (Jan 20, 2013 | post #1)
