Should Mayor Doyle Arp Resign?

Yes! He should resign! He should've resigned when he became ill instead of taking the taxpayer's dollars for little work. Plus, after the "you shut up" screaming incident @ the last board meeting w/ regards to his friend's refusal to pay the AFT and subsequent lawsuit about it...Arp only makes Loudon look worse and worse to any potential new residents or companies.  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #4)

Has Mayor Arp Committed a Felony?

If you think this is bad, read more on VanShaver. The New Property Assessor (prior postion of Arp), is having to "correct " property values in the Rarity Bay, Tellico Village, etc areas that were wrong when Arp was in office. Hmmm...who was Arp helping then...definitely not the citizens of Loudon County that lost that revenue. I'm tired of my kids getting their education in "learning centers" aka mobile homes!  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #14)

Grade County Mayor Arp's Job Performance

Once Arp became ill, a virtuous man would have resigned his position. Instead, Arp only works 20 hour weeks for full time pay. Then, they (county board) changed the election date so now we can't even vote them out until 2010. As for the Adequate Facitilites Tax, I was charged that (I voted for it to avoid a property tax), but when I tried to pay it, they rejected it. The oversite committee for the AFT is so terrible, who knows where that money is actually going. I couldn't vote against the 1/2 cent raise in sales tax as a Loudon City voter, I already pay the highest taxes in the county so I was glad it was turned down. I will vote against the wheel tax as I strongly believe the "good citizens" of Tellico Village living in million dollar homes on property "taken" from poor farmers in the 70s in the name of commercial development should be appropriately taxed on their real estate.
