Alcoholics, One Day at a Time

My prayers are with the newly sober I remember my first sober Christmas just last year.I was so full of fear that a urge would come to me to pick up but I prayed alot and took it minute to minute and enjoyed the first Christmas ever sober with my kids and my grandaughter who was 6 months old then it was awesome. As for New Years it went off without a hitch sparkiling grape jucie and dancing in my living room with my then 11 year old daughter we had a blast! No hangovers no regrets what a true Blessing This Program is.You are a gift to these men who are trying to get through their first holiday sober noone HAS to be alone we only choose to be and that's a dangerous place for the newcomer. Thanks For writing please let me know how everything goes God Bless You All  (Dec 25, 2007 | post #9)

Congrads on 14 years that's awesome! Thank You also for teaching me something new. I do believe it is two different worlds but for me I don't want to forget that old world I once lived in or I should say walk dead in for so long for me that would be a death sentence.  (Dec 4, 2007 | post #13)

Recovering Alcoholic

I've been blessed in belonging to a great home group that I have been able to be open and honest with and have not felt judged not once. I'm sure that's few and far between. I was raised Catholic, but I'm far for being in a structured or organized religion but I do want to learn more about my Creator.I'm not sure that I understand your statement "It's hard to be honest yourself if you are trying to believe in something you know isn't true." I do thank you for writing I'm interested in reading more from you.  (Dec 4, 2007 | post #12)

Alcoholics, One Day at a Time

I to am a reocovering alcoholic my dos is 2/27/06 it has been a wonderful journey this far. I do have some not so good days but I am thankful that I don't have to drink because of them.I know that everyday has a lesson for me and if I sit still and look at it I will find something good in it. Most of the time it's that I got through it sober, and I'll take that as there's nothing that I can't face sober if I turn it over to my HP it'll all be fine. A little note. I can't He can so I think I'll let Him!  (Dec 3, 2007 | post #5)

Recovering Alcoholic

I would like to thank all of you for your input. I don't think I'm on the verge of a "rampage " of any sort. lol I do however like to read others thoughts on the subject. Reality is a new experience for me one that I do enjoy most times but even in the tough times I know there's a lesson to be learned and how I react to a situation for me is the true lesson. Thank You all again for your comments. I look forward to reading more.  (Dec 3, 2007 | post #8)

I would love to find a good church to go to but I've found with church there's religion, religion scares the heck out of me. I've always felt I had to be act and have what the religious people had. I've been I felt looked down by " them". I would love to hear from those who have some insite and share there experiences.  (Dec 2, 2007 | post #1)
