Harbaugh: 'It just came together'

Now if we can get some more help from other players with the salary cap situation. Nice Job Todd, you get the trophy for stepping up and also showing that you really know what it takes to be a class act/team player. After that bad season, alot of these players should do the same, meaning restructure/rebates and next time around take performace based contracts. You get what you give, type.  (Feb 14, 2008 | post #13)

Rushing to keep him

Cap cuts may help in all areas. Like the waiting to see who else is available during free agency, tagging Suggs to move him for value, cut McNair and ask Ogden to retire early. evaluate the roster and purge early. I would use the tapes from the last 2 seasons to determine the viability of keeping the majority of those in question. Cut the fat and go lean and mean. Anquan Bolden, Rex Grossman, Chad Pennington, Bernard Berrian, Asantee Samuels and hit list just keeps on growing !  (Feb 12, 2008 | post #19)

I like that idea also ! But which one do you prefer ? But with the tag placed, I would take a first and WR instead. The Cards have a good cap situation.  (Feb 12, 2008 | post #16)

Get Rex Grossman !  (Feb 11, 2008 | post #9)

Ravens won't let Suggs test market

they should have parted ways with after the third time he was unable to play the entire season ! More of a Billick mismanagement issue than a team concern at this point. I seriously doubt that they could get anyone for this true Bust ! Another reason to hope that the scouts stay out of the local saloons and get plenty of sleep before committing to projects with durabilty questions !  (Feb 11, 2008 | post #18)

Boldin would do well as a trade.  (Feb 11, 2008 | post #17)

Dolphins cut QB Green, eight others

Trent will retire hopefully. Saving his family from a huge doctors bill and may be able to stay out of ICU with a life altering brain bruise. Marty booker may fit a need somewhere. Maybe here ?  (Feb 11, 2008 | post #3)

Ravens hire Pagano as assistant coach

True ! It seems like a lot of people have titles, maybe he is putting as much structure around himself and the players to be able to save face or save careers ,if one or the other seems not to be working as planned. How many coaches are needed to coach the average football team in the NFL ?  (Feb 11, 2008 | post #6)

Heap eager to make forward progress

I think the point really is that most of the players got sick of playing the billickBall rendition of the nfl playbook. Knowing your boss will sacrifice you too look good at the press conference and you most now nurse those two huge knots on your head would cause a smart man to rethink the position he now finds himself. Not one play to Heap was really a gimme and go as of late. He has taken some really brutal shots and gotten up ! He health is in question as far as his lower body. He can't take the hits too well there and it is a pattern. Hopefully the trainers will be able to offset the problem with workouts and strengthening of the non flexible portions. I would agree that they need a quality backup other than Wilcox or Sip. But that need can wait. They really need an Elite receiver, a replacement for the fullback, corner who knows the Nfl routes and a Bonofided pass rusher when Suggs or Pryce are not in/on there game. QB will be available during free agency or late inthe draft. If Ogden doesn't return for the 2008/09 campaign Gaither will do nicely with the new coaches and rookie season over. It will would be nice to get the top receiver in the draft for a change. They really should move up the draft in order to give the rookies time to settle in and really make an impact sooner than later. Heap has now officially been served notice pertaining to the media and fans perceptions and hopefully has something to himself as well. i suspect alot of the current roster will have to be transitional players rather then bit players in order to get the max benefit out the salary cap strapped Ravens. The turnover is coming and the smart players will do what Heap is now doing. hopefully he won't hurt himself and not do what the lineman do(over work those suspect areas)and set them selves back while trying to help themselves. I applaud the effort !  (Feb 10, 2008 | post #59)

Hostler, Ver Steeg added to offensive coaching staff

If he picks players like coaches we will be entertained all year round. The Mark of a Coach who is not hell bent on himself but the team. As the squad comes together, a new era has begun and the days of not getting impact players seems over. A couple of moves here and there, will shake the core of the team and we will we able to bask in the national limelight without the fear of constantly being embarrassed on Monday nights. I can't wait for the draft/freeagents to come on board. Maybe the bargain basement mental will finally not be the determining factor. You get what you pay for most of the time. It would be nice to know who is doing the scouting this year.  (Feb 9, 2008 | post #6)

Newsome rebuts McNabb rumors

I'm hoping that Ozzie listens to the new HC in regards to the players he will need to plug those holes aforementioned . To set out for the old players with an imaginary window of grandeur is just plan stupid and as usual, predictable. Billick may not have been the only problem up at the castle aka Billick. Let the coaches decide the nature of the talent and how they fit in! To put the Ravens in another no win situation calls for impeachment of the GM currently holding office. There are plenty of options if they stop with the vets the only choice, BS. You saddled the Ravens to a Broke Down -We don't want you even around our organization/ practices player, to a deal that made no sense at all. Most of all you are to short sighted in regards to signing old players to contracts, everyone knows except you that are far to long and costly. If you gamble at the horse track do you pick the oldest, most experienced horse or one that has shown promise in its last few races and is ready to peak, when U need it too ? I like closers but sometimes the sprinter or mudder will pleasantly surprise you !You need a WR, CB, LB, QB, RB and OLG but is not required from the draft. Promminent names out there; Asantee Samuals -N.E.-CB Berrnard Berrian -Bears_WR Rex Grossman-Bears_QB Micheal Turner-Chargers-RB Draft a Lineman/CB/WR The options are limited only by your lack of money or creativity in regards to restructuring the cap you have so poorly managed while dealing for the failed Billick Experiments. But you do have some money to spend, so spend it wisely ! We will be watching and complaining if you do something as Dumb, Stupid, Ridiculous, A**backwards, Predictable and Most of all Too Costly for the future. Ozzie if you need help with this years draft get some from those who don't always agree with your methods. Please ! McNabb, Please !!!!  (Feb 5, 2008 | post #35)

IMO, Rex would be another option for the Qb comp with Finnerty Smith and Boller grasping at the magic straw. And I believe he is a ufa with the right tutors he would excel in the Cam Offensive schemes. Good choice and keep posting !  (Feb 5, 2008 | post #34)

Ravens in tough spot at QB for '08

develop Cullen Finnerty as he seemed like a project in the makings. Draft a QB in the late rounds. Bargain for Asantee Samuels. Cut the fat in cap space effort and Keep Boller and ice McNair.  (Feb 4, 2008 | post #7)

5 Shot Dead at Suburban Chicago Store

Sad Day in American for the Families, friends, citizens, and the world. Love your neighbor and stop killing each other for a couple of bucks. And to do that to women is Unspeakable and Low ! Hopefully they blow that Fool away before trial and save the rehab for someone who deserves the chance ! We can't save everyone just like we don't save trash. Color doesn't matter unless the perp is your race. That' even sadder.  (Feb 4, 2008 | post #144)
