Let's at least talk about it

The drinking issue in the USA is not a legal but cultural issue. Puritans, reactionaries, and Prohibitionists aside it is the hypocrital moral sanctity of a perverse religiosity of control that pervades Amerikan institutionalism that compels those who are subordinant, youthful, minorities, non conformists ect. to embrace chemically induced consciousnesses. Drinking like all uninhibitors seeks to redress this unbalance albeit with simultaneous social complicators. This issue can only be addressed by examining the existing relationship between those who have power to make rules and those to whom they are directed. Fear or dislike are not structional success motivators as they result merely in irresponsible self-directed or externally focused aggression. What is necessary is a new relationship between these power imbalances that are uniquely Amerikan. Other Western societies have alcohol problems but the USA problem (outside the UK is which is quite similiar) is quite unique in this respect.  (Aug 24, 2008 | post #20)

Draft or no draft; 18 or 21 year old drinking limit; one thing is clear, the youth in the USA are unhappy. What do you think is the reason in the most "wealthy " society in the world? Incidentially, fighting in Iraq is not defending your country. At best it is a perverted mechanism for keeping certain youth committed to participating in crimes abroad in an unregulated atrocity rather than having them live down the street.  (Aug 24, 2008 | post #19)

Religious Americans: My faith isn't the only way

Unfortunately your commentary will be lost among the faithful. The length of this posting indicates that the Amerikan committment to education has totally failed and the sane US public will have to suffer along with and because of these morons.  (Aug 24, 2008 | post #3526)

Fundamentally your comment makes a lot of sense but your targets are hopelessly lost. They won't be satisfied until you are as dumb as them.  (Aug 24, 2008 | post #64)

Your desire will be somewhat fulfilled. However, Mrs Mouse and Mr Duck's term limits are about to expire. I believe the next Disney character presidency that you prefer will be led by Goofy as Amerika continues its inexorable decline.  (Aug 24, 2008 | post #122)

While my personal view is for land presevation for public use a high tech business park is probably what LI needs. A high salary employment base is vital to LI's future not lawncutters and waiters. This need to be encouraged and Trump like low wage projects discarded.  (Apr 4, 2008 | post #19)

I DON'T GET IT. WITH YOUR PERSPECTIVE I FIND IT IMPOSSIBLE THAT YOU HAVEN'T PAID YOUR OWN WAY TO THE MIDDLE EAST TO SAVE THE US FROM DESTRUCTION.IF THIS CONTINUES THEY WILL SURELY NEED YOU. IN NO WAY AM I ANARCHIST BUT I CAN SEE WHY YOU WOULD THINK SO. ESSENTIALLY I AM AN ANTI-IMPERIALIST WITH A SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC PERSPECTIVE. I'M SURE THIS IS AS JUST AS CONFUSING TO YOU. I'M IN MY MID 50'S AND HAVE SEEN THIS ALL BEFORE SO ENJOY.  (Mar 27, 2008 | post #16)

Not a bad response but as far as Iraq goes the US is entirely responsible under the Nuremberg trials. The aspect assigned here is that the aggressor is responsible for all subsequent atrocity as a result of the aggression. Guess who made that part of the Nuremberg indictment? The USA. So the US is not even following its own proclamations or responsibility for it. I was only referring to years 1975 or so up to the present regarding relatively consistent death figures. You would have to admit if they are similiar to Iraq figures then this must be continuous. Your defense spending info is inaccurate as it will take more effort on your part to realize actual figures. Just for instance take social security. This not a part of the budget. It is already paid for by you. The government lumps it in there to distort the percentages of other expenditures. This alone would drastically increase the proported military spending percentage. The pentagon system is a large one and in no way is limited to official figures. Its tentacles run throughout the society. I would wager if you research this you will come to a vastly different view how the USA operates.  (Mar 26, 2008 | post #12)
