Louisiana's Landrieu Wins U.S. Aid for State as Senate He...

This from a friend of mine.... Once again, Senator Mary Landrieu is looking out for her own short-term interests, instead of what is good in the long-term for this country AND this state. She took what amounts to at least a $100 million bribe from the Democratic party, and approved by the White House. A bribe by any other name is just as dirty. Can anybody tell me why this is different from what William Jefferson did? Is it because she will supposedly not get any "personal " gain from it, but her constituents will gain? That is baloney. She was paid for her vote. That makes her Louisiana's highest paid pimp. In addition, her vote, which could have stopped any forward movement on government run healthcare, has now emboldened the Democrat controlled Senate to say this morning in the news that they would now go forward and pass a bill WITHOUT Republican bipartisan support. Thanks, Senator Landrieu, for selling us out, even though you KNOW the majority of your constituents oppose this bill. We won't forget YOU come election time!  (Nov 25, 2009 | post #4)

Landrieu draws criticism after vote

A friend of mine says it all: Once again, Senator Mary Landrieu is looking out for her own short-term interests, instead of what is good in the long-term for this country AND this state. Ex-congressman gets 13 years in freezer cash case

It's not over yet.... Let's see how many years he actually has to serve. Strings will be pulled, years will be cut, the race card played. His allies will rally. The combo of Louisiana - Chicago politics will save him in the end. We will hear from Mr. Jefferson again.  (Nov 14, 2009 | post #14)

why didn't fire dept. put out fire at landfill?

The solutions: 1. Butaud should be investigated for nepotism, malfeasance and conflict of interest. He will be found guilty. Once the investigation ends, he should be forced to step down. 2. The rest of the Police Jury should step forward and press the investigation to go forward. They are afraid they will lose votes if they turn against "one of their own". Political alliances run deep. Police Jurors: Do the right thing!  (Jul 15, 2009 | post #24)

DWI - Still Loose

3 first time DWIs. How can that be? Harson admits to mistake. Sloppy Police work. Excuses. Why can't Harson and other public officials "fix" this problem, like the previous tickets apparently got "fixed". Police & D.A.s are in place to protect the innocent. Three people died... no, were killed. Technicalities and politically granted immunity gets in the way of justice. Is this the American way?  (Jan 16, 2009 | post #23)
