Baby killed after interrupting mom's Facebook time

This Twitter and Facebook crap is more trouble than any other fad on this earth. When these young people spend hours and hours on their computers twittering and facebooking and playing their stupid games, they are ignoring their main responsibilities; i.e., taking care of their little ones, laundry, household chores, and how about getting a real job. This woman will probably get off with a temporary insanity plea and God forbid if the baby's father forgives her for whatever reason. I'm sorry but this women deserves an immediate death sentence and save the rest of us responsible people the expense of supporting her murderous **** . P.S. I have a 50 yr old daughter (grandmother at that) who spends hours on facebook and all they do is gossip, gossip, gossip).  (Oct 28, 2010 | post #25)

Woman wanted for stealing millions from Long Beach stroke...

My 2nd posting--I worked for an electrical contractor who had a liver transplant and the anti-rejection medications severely damaged his kidneys to the point that he needed in-home care. His ex-wife who learned the business while they were married, moved in and took over everything. She made him think that they still had a chance at reconciliation and he was awe-struck as this woman knew the electrical business inside-out. We subsequently found out that when she went home on weekends, she was actually seeing her husband of 9 years. To make a long sad story short, she ruined the business (smoking crack), had her name added to the bank accounts (milked them dry), signed the blank pink slip for the 2006 Jag he was going to turn over for a profit, changed his 4 life insurance policies so she was the sole beneficiary and spun her wheels trying to get ownership of his 1956 Ford F100 award winning pickup. She totally removed his daughter and family from the will (threatened to leave him without any business or medical help) and the list goes on. She got $32K and smoked it up in less than 6 months at the first reading of the will and thought she'd be getting another $70K after all assets were sold. The attorneys got wind of her life- style and the threats she perpetrated and she wound up with another $6K and his son got the $70K she thought she would get. Beware men in CA, this woman has done this to two other husbands and she's really shrewd. There ought to be a law against people like her.  (Aug 17, 2010 | post #9)

Woman wanted for stealing millions from Long Beach stroke...

So sad -- can't trust family to care for the elderly (like the poor lady confined to a chair with unattended bedsores and family has been arrested) or, in this case, outside help (legal or illegal?) who manage to seriously harm the elderly to get something that doesn't belong to them. This is a case where the family shouldn't get anything either in the event of the elderly woman's death and certainly not the in-home care person. Someone needs to screen these people a lot better than they have been. God Bless this poor woman.  (Aug 17, 2010 | post #8)

Couple found dead in Marina del Rey

Short story -- should report when more is known. This is an affluent city and you don't hear about murders (?) too often.  (Jul 30, 2010 | post #3)

DATABASE: LAPD's Most Wanted

I don't care how old a child is -- parental supervision, especially at the ocean or beach, is where it is needed at all times. Children can drown in a matter of minutes and succumb to being buried alive if unattended. Thank goodness for a sister who was alert enough to see danger and kudos to all who aided in the rescue. A feed good story is this day and age of horrible incidents.  (Jul 26, 2010 | post #2)

South Bay yard sale rules

One prisoner on a very large Sheriff's Bus? What a shameful waste of $$$. This person could have and should have been transported by a less-gas-guzzling vehicle like a van. No wonder California is in ruins -- government waste of $$$ in every facet of government (city, state, federal) not to mention tearing up newly paved roads to install sewer/water main improvements; and hiring lowest-bidders for asphalt paving/repairs only to have major pot holes and cracking in finished streets. The list goes on and on and on................  (Jul 23, 2010 | post #10)

Carson council continues bickering over seat assignments

Utterly ridiculous ! How does one justify the election of mere tantrum-throwing, power-struggling children; yes, including the Mayor. I would not re-elect any of the tantrum-throwing, control freaks. Start over at election time; there are plenty of adults available for the positions.  (Jul 22, 2010 | post #13)

Car backing up kills woman, 70, in Westchester

When I first read this article, it said nothing about backing out of a driveway -- it said the driver was backing up, period. I still say one must be overly careful whether backing up or backing out -- either way, a life was taken (man vs. pedestrian) -- I always thought the pedestrian had the right-of-way.  (Jul 20, 2010 | post #11)

Car backing up kills woman, 70, in Westchester

Why in God's name did the Infiniti back up on a residential street? This poor senior--able to make it to her 70's only to be taken out by a careless driver. That's what they have side and rear view mirrors for. It could have been a great-grandma out with her small grand or great-grand kids. I hope this driver's memories haunt him/her to the point that they will look back any time they decide they need to back up rather than turn around.  (Jul 20, 2010 | post #1)

Motorcyclist riding allegedly stolen bike killed in chase

Southern California seems to be the motorcycle death capital of the world. I know a lot of cycle riders and give them all the right of way; I'm sure the own their own bikes and didn't have to steal one.  (Jul 17, 2010 | post #3)

Yes, they can -- some chlldren are born with brain anomalies that make them less-than-ideal adults. I'm sure the parents knew something was up with this poor excuse for a man!!  (Jul 8, 2010 | post #2)

Lawndale man badly burned in accident with legal firework

I live in Lawndale and watched the Leuzinger High fireworks show from a nearby parking lot and it was absolutely beautiful. However, the neighborhood's disrespectful kids/adults were still firing off many illegal fireworks up to and past midnight. I believe they need to do away with firework sales everywhere. One severe injury is one too many; not to mention the poor animals who are spooked for days from the heavy-duty fireworks.  (Jul 7, 2010 | post #15)
