Woman Faces Child Porn Charges
Ahhhh the good old forum back and forth of "Liberal! " and "Conservative Nazi!" that are so common here on almost every thread. I'm not sure, but I don't recall any political views being espoused in the story. It all sounds pretty horrendous to me, and THAT doesn't require any political affiliation. (Jun 8, 2009 | post #112)

I don't disagree with that. I think that person should lose there job. However, I garauntee you it wasn't Obama approving that. (May 2, 2009 | post #125)

I think you and I will have to agree to disagree here. And your previous post to other person about the IEDs in Iraq was insensitive and stupid. For you to add in there that your son was "recognized " for being able to spot IEDs in advance (as if you had something to do with that, too) after the other poster mentioned that their son was killed by one is moronic. I'm gratefull that your son served our country,, but the fact of the matter is, he was fortunate, anything above that that you believe is nonsense. (May 2, 2009 | post #15)

That's exactly right. Not to mention she was in the right lane that turned left, and her view was blocked. Are we really at a point in our society where we blame people for being in accidents because they didn't look thoroughly enough at a GREEN LIGHT? Wouldn't that cause people to hit you from behind? Can anyone else say anything ridiculous to try and absolve this guy of wrongdoing? Jeesh! (May 1, 2009 | post #12)

M stands for million. K or G stands for thousand. Either way....the fact that you let someone tell you the flight cost that much, and you believe it, is ridiculous. I guess our President shouldn't travel at all. (May 1, 2009 | post #122)

Come on Ross. It does not cost 300 million dollars for the air force one to fly from DC to St Louis, or for that stupid photo op in NY. Nor did it cost 300K. You people think if you just pull numbers out of your rear, or if Rush does, that it must be a fact. The only people you are hurting is yourselves by believing that nonsense. So now you should have a say over when and where the President travels? When did that start? Are you really that dense???? (Apr 30, 2009 | post #119)

Yeah, just like Bush and Cheney were responsible, right? You can't just pick and choose when they become responsible. I'm quite sure the President has gotten involved with what happened and the appropriate people are paying the price. But I'd like to know which person that you've ever heard of can be in all places at all times and know every single thing that happens, everywhere. And don't give me the "Obama thinks he's God" crap. That's just people being **** off because they don't like him, and don't want him to to tell them what to do. And, I think there are certainly bigger issues for us to be worrying about right now. Using that logic, every person in our federal government who has been there should take responsibilty for what is happening in our country. Including all the House of Reps and Senators that have been there since before it started. ALL OF THEM. It was a stupid decision to do the fly overs, and I'll bet you money that Obama did NOT authorize it. I don't think Bush would have authorized it either. Use your brain. Yes, someone should lose their job over it. But to lump it in with everything else is just stupid. I really do love how everything is Obama's fault now. It just shows how petty and shortsighted a lot of people are being. I'm not saying I agree with the whole huge stimulus thing, but we haven't even given it a chance to work. It's not like flicking a swithc and everything gets fixed. Take a step back......the most important thing right now is that we work hard and try to do everything we can for our families and futures. Blaming everyone else for what's wrong isn't going to solve the problems. (Apr 30, 2009 | post #113)

So....if they raised their deceased child right? Wow. Obviously someone didn't raise you right. This man worked for a company. That company has insurance and should have to pay $$ for this family's pain and suffering. It won't bring their daughter back, and it won't abslove this man of his crime, but it will help this family going forward. I'm sure their lives have suffered greatly form the loss of their daughter and sister. there has to be a price to pay for these companies that put these drivers on such a schedule that it makes drivers think they can break laws to get it done. And for drivers who think that everyone should know to stay out of THEIR way even when they're breaking the law and they don't think there will be consequences. A young girl is dead from this, and yes, there should be forgiveness, eventually. But there has to be a price to pay other than"feeling bad". (Apr 30, 2009 | post #4)

I'm not sure why you're calling people names, but it certainly isn't going to prove your point. By the way, I'm pretty sure we shouldn't be torturing prisoners either, but that's a tiny piece of our problem. As far as taxes go, the flat tax IS THE RIGHT ANSWER. The rich WILL be paying more taxes. Thye will buy more. Also, and this may take things a little farther than some would like, but I believe this tax should cover ALL purchases, including cars and houses. The wealthy, then, would DEFINATELY be paying more taxes. I don't, however, believe anyone wins when the poor pay NO taxes. If they improve their situations, they will still only be taxed on their consumption, so there's nothing to hold them back. This is all pipe dreams anyways. It doesn't matter what party is in charge, they ALL want a beaurocratic order, and a flat tax would take some of that away. (Apr 24, 2009 | post #78)

I'm pretty good with most of those ideas. I do think congressmen and women deserve SOME sort of retirement. They should have to serve TEN years minimum (5 terms in the house, two in the senate) to get a HALF retirement. To continue with that, they should have to serve TWENTY years to get a FULL retirement. If you've been able to withstand the blender in Washington for that long, and be somewhat succesfull, you deserve a retirement. Public service does NOT mean you are doing charity work....you are doing (hopefully) the important business of helping to run our country. Conversely, if you serve only two terms in the house (4 yrs), you obviously weren't very good at your job, and certainly don't deserve a congressional pension. The President, however, DOES deserve a pension. There isn't a job with more pressure than that, so it deserves the benefits to go with it. Also, I firmly believe that any one who goes to war for us deserves a pension. That's not to say that ALL military deserve a pension for four years of service, but if you put your but on the line because a bunch of folks in suits say you need to, doesn't it stand to reason that you should get a pension, too? (Some sort of version of how much they made when they left). I know it sounds expensive, but I also think it would make our government think twice everytime it wants to start, or get involved with a conflict. Sorry for getting a little off subject, but these are all things we're paying for. (Apr 23, 2009 | post #66)

I guess I'll weigh in with my two cents. CP, I'm not sure what you are smoking, but just because companies are in trouble does not mean their CEOs are democrats. I'd like to see you PROVE that three CEOs of these large corporations are dems. You wont, because you can't. You were just speaking out of your butt, which is unusual for you.....you usually make a little more sense. On the tax thing, I persaonally believe there should be a flat tax. It's fair, honest, and gets everyone based on what they spend. Plus, it would sure save us a lot of money in govt employees! (Apr 23, 2009 | post #64)
