What are the odds?

If evil made everything, how could any of us have a clue that there is such a thing as something good? Plus, there are ones who complain about evil, but what they mean by evil is what keeps them from having their own selfish lives. But yes it can seem like evil sets us up with something which seems good, but this is bait to trick us so then evil can take it away and make us suffer even more than if we had never had hope for something nice. But God has not done this with me. "'Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.'" (Matthew 11:28-30) But then why hasn't God done this for all of us?? Am I superior or something? No. I have been no better than anyone else. Anything good I have with God has come with His correction so I can even see it. His good can be in my face, but I don't see it. He has to change my character so I am capable of seeing and doing the loving which He has for us. Yesterday, we set up our truck with food and clothes and went to our meeting place with the poor. The person in charge had a problem, though, getting enough people to fix the hot dogs and eggs and sandwiches and then give them out. I told her I would get myself there, but call her if I got in a problem. She came looking for me, even though I had not called her. And then she was having a problem. Well, she created that trouble, herself, right while I was on my way! Then at the place I went straight to the person who was making the most trouble screaming at people, and I was good to her. Before that, the one in charge was criticizing the trouble maker and talking about her. But I know Jesus on the cross had hope for any evil person, at all. And the man in charge prayed for us to have a good time and be encouraged. So, later the one who could verbally abuse people came to me for hot dogs. I gave her two and she gave them to a woman with children. Then she came back for more; I thanked her for helping me (c: But before I got there I had major paranoid problems, how the woman was going to stab me and mess everything up. But I kept waiting for God to make me ready in love and creativity. Then it went so better than I had been thinking of talking her down and threatening her that she would be put in an institution. I had been imagining how I would control her. But then God had us doing so better than anything I could think up. So, complaining about the evil and trying to control people does not do it. With God, now, we can create the good of loving ! ! ! "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." (Romans 12:21) And I'm learning Spanish; so it was fun trying to find out with people if we were going to speak Hispanic or English (c: while I was giving out the hot dogs and asking what they wanted with them. And they did not have room in the car to give everyone rides, afterward; but I knew the bus station was a walk away; so that took care of it. My paranoia had been telling me that I would get robbed if I walked to the bus. But it was a no-brainer to just trust God and enjoy being in the city with all the different people. And I remembered how the man had prayed for us to be encouraged, likely meaning in spite of the trouble making woman. Instead of being paranoid, be encouraged to love and be there for the people as their friend. So, that prayer, I would say, worked better than my paranoia. And then I went to my lady friend, and we enjoyed affection with each other, then went to visit people in a nursing home. Loving all the different people a lot for me, though it was special with her. God's way of loving does not work only with ones of my personal preference > "For if you love those who love you, what reward have you?" (in Matthew 5:46) If we love selfishly, this can keep us from being able to see and enjoy God's good.  (Sunday Jul 31 | post #8)

happiness does not exist

We can learn how to love. "'Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.'" (Matthew 11:28-29) Here, Jesus says He will give us "rest for our souls." This is better than happy. This is having character with strength against anti-rest things of depression, loneliness, boredom, nasty angry uncaring reacting about not getting our own way. And Jesus makes us strong against unforgiveness and bitterness and various dominating and tyrannical drives for pleasure which never satisfy. While we keep on giving in to such things, we stay in weakness so we are not only not happy, but we are being devoured . . . eaten alive by stress, lusts, unforgiveness, nasty angry reacting, complaining, and arguing. But Jesus gives us "rest for your souls." But this comes with learning personally from Jesus > "learn from Me," He says in Matthew 11:29. In us, He personally teaches us how to love, how to be and share personally with God in His own peace with His rest. We are "called in one body" to submit to God and how He personally rules us in His own peace > Colossians 3:15. This rest in His peace has God's own almighty power to keep us safe, emotionally and in our feelings and relating with other people.  (Jul 20, 2016 | post #15)

Why do you really believe in a god?

How about Colossians 3:15? > "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15) I consider that this means the real God, who is our Heavenly Father of Jesus who came and died for us; and this means God who desires to personally rule each of us by means of His own peace in our "hearts" . This is very personal, not what a distant and theoretical god of beliefs and practices can do. Which other book says in plain words that God wants to personally rule each of us with His own peace . . . "the peace of God" . . . in our "hearts" ? If this is God's own peace ruling in us, this is the peace which God Himself has and enjoys and experiences. And He desires to share this His own peace with us ! ! ! So, if we experience God's own peace, we even are feeling what He is feeling; this is very personal communication, to be able to feel what He is feeling. Can we really communicate so deeply with another human . . . to really feel what another is feeling? Does any other book teach that our Heavenly Father is so personal with His own children? Also . . . Jesus Himself says, "'Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.'" (John 14:27) So, Jesus Himself says He gives us His peace > "My peace", He does say. So, this is the peace which Jesus Himself on Heaven's throne is experiencing and enjoying . . . while sharing this with us. So, with Jesus our Groom, also, we have this deeper-than-words so-personal sharing, experiencing and feeling what Jesus is feeling in this peace. So, this is a match with how God wants to share His own peace with us. This supports how . . . not only that, but how . . . Jesus is God . . . personal and sharing with His children; because "God is love" (in 1 John 4:8&16). Love is about family sharing and caring . . . personal, with more than one Person in love (c: So, thank You, God, for how You share with us; amen in the name of Jesus Your Son (c:  (Jul 20, 2016 | post #809)

Jesus did not claim to be God

I can see that people can over-argue that Jesus is God, using scripture which does not say this. Jesus did not go around always saying He is God. He did not always tell people to take their sandals off because they were on holy ground while they were around Him, like the LORD did with Moses, at the burning bush. Doing that did not work. He proved Himself, over and over to people, in the early scripture, yet they still turned against Him, and Moses himself smote the rock and dishonored God. All the wonders and the law did not get people to know, really, who God is and live accordingly. Even if people decided Jesus is God, they possibly would not know who and how God really is. So, just giving Him the right label would not be enough. So, Jesus came to show us how God is, not only to get a label for Himself.  (Jul 20, 2016 | post #284)

Why didn’t God destroy satan from the beginning?

I understand the explanation how God has kept Satan around in order for God to show His power and how we are unconditionally guaranteed with Jesus, no matter how evil may try to mess with us. Also, by the way, we have 1 Peter 3:4 > "rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (1 Peter 3:4) So, if we desire to be pleasing to our Heavenly Father, be gentle and quiet in His love (c: But . . . also . . . this beauty of God's love is "incorruptibl e" > having almighty power to keep us from being corrupted by lusts, worry, boredom, loneliness, complaining, unforgiveness, hurts and suffering about our past and failures, and bitterness and frustration and being self-righteously critical of others. So, God can allow Satan to stay around so he is shown up by how God keeps us from being effected by such corrupting and Satanic things. Also, notice what happened with our Apostle Paul > 2 Corinthians 12:7-15. Paul had that "thorn in the flesh" which was "a messenger of Satan". To me, it seems like for a while that thorn devil was getting the better of Paul. But then Paul had a little talk with Jesus, and Jesus said, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." (in 2 Corinthians 12:9) What I see is that Jesus was not going to give Paul a miracle of convenience, by simply making that thorn demon go away; but Paul needed to get strong in God's grace, instead of doing things in weakness of ego. Whenever Paul did something in ego, that thorn messenger could easily parry its way past Paul's own defenses, then pop would go the puffed-up ego, and then the thorn could multi-task to inject Paul with disappointment, frustration, shame, blaming, fears and worries, nasty angry reacting, and even unforgiveness and bitterness. But the solution was not to stop the problems which Satan was causing, but to get strong and real in grace and its love which makes us safe from various personality torment which is rooted in fear > "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." (1 John 4:18) So, God can allow us to be tested by Satan, so we can see if we are truly becoming real in His love and power. And when we do fail, we can seek our Father for His correction and curing in His love, to restore us into sweet and sensitive intimacy with Him, then discover what He has us doing in sharing with Him and one another in His peace > Colossians 3:15. Also, along with how we can use the devil to test us and expose our weaknesses and self-dependence > Satan is a sewer bucket for the spirit of evil (Ephesians 2:2) and all its nasty filth of worry and lusts and frustration and unforgiveness and uncaring anger and bitterness and self-righteous criticizing and other conceit of judging who is good enough for us to love and who is worth our attention < all this of selfish love belongs in sewer buckets, not in us!!!! There is "the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience" , our Apostle Paul does say in Ephesians 2:2. This evil spirit of selfishness and ego is full of nasty filth of dominating and dictatorial drives for foolish pleasure, plus plenty of nasty reacting stuff about not getting the lives we want and dictate that we should have. And God has vessels for containing this Satanic spirit and its stuff. So, it does not belong in us!!!! But there are people so stubborn, that they keep on living in this stuff. This is why hell includes fire; because only fire can manage such stubborn ones like Satan and his fallen angels and people who will not reason and obey God. But we are called to be vessels of God's own love and how God rules us with His own peace > "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)  (Apr 30, 2016 | post #4)

romans 5:20

"rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (1 P\eter 3:4) So, God wants us to have His love's "incorruptibl e beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit". But we can fear quiet; because when we start to be quiet, we can get attacked and violated by boredom and loneliness and worries and hurts and unforgiveness. So, then we can try to seek pleasures and revenge and excitement and accomplishment, in order to feel better, instead of being prayerful and quieting and being calm and thankful with God in His peace. So, sin is not only wrong behavior, but sin includes allowing Satanic things to get the better of us, in us, and then seeking our own ways of trying to feel relief. "'Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.'" (Matthew 11:28-30)  (Apr 30, 2016 | post #5)

Faith or Bases for Belief to Personel to Talk About.

Possibly, when people are evangelizing and ask someone if he or she is saved, the person might want to avoid having the people examine him or her; and so the person might say his or her faith is a personal thing. They could feel the examination would be prejudiced, or they have something to hide, or they are not confident that they are saved and know the Bible. But these are general ideas. You would need to get to know each one, let each one speak for oneself, if one sees fit to answer. And you can't guarantee the answer will be the truth. Each person is unique; so what each one says can be different. When did I know I had faith? I trusted in Jesus on the cross to save me and do with me whatsoever He pleased, and then I was blessed spiritually in a way which encouraged me that God had received me. And I am encouraged by how God corrects me better than I try or others try to straighten me out > Hebrews 12:4-11. And faith, by the way, is "faith working through love" (in Galatians 5:6). So, as I grow in love and get more correction to love, this confirms to me that I am with God. "Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world." (1 John 4:17) So, our confirmation that we are ready for the day of judgment, I consider, is not things we have believed, or that we have reformed ourselves not to sin, or that we did a list of things which certain people told us to do. But our assurance is how God is perfecting us in His love, so that "as He is, so are we in this world." (in 1 John 4:17)  (Apr 30, 2016 | post #14)

romans 5:20

"where sin abounded, grace abounded much more," (in Romans 5:20) So, grace abounds much more than sin, and God's grace is greater and superior to sin. So, with God we are able to win against sin.  (Apr 28, 2016 | post #3)

Christian Views

Greek Word Study of Ephesians 6:11-12

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood," (in Ephesians 6:11-12 KJVI think that humans are flesh and blood. So, if we use words and votes to fight humans, this could be fighting against flesh and blood. And it can be carnal, if it is using social shaming and control, instead of first God changing the heart of the person. Peter has said to Christian church leaders, how to relate > "nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock." (1 Peter 3:4) So, we labor by means of example to win the obedience of people.  (Apr 28, 2016 | post #2)

Why did "God" command killing little children?

Well, nowadays, there are a lot of people who are ok with slaughtering unborn children, and they are not God. What I understand is that God decides who lives and how long. Ones who fear death can be slaves of their fear of death (Hebrews 2:14-15, 1 John 4:18). But after each person dies, God can do whatsoever is right with each person after one dies. We are here as His gift . . . for as long as He pleases. But it is all subject to His discretion, not our ego's free wills!! (c: We are not God's dictator; but our own selfish character can be a very bad dictator!! In the case of the LORD directing the Jews to kill all people and animals, in certain military actions, I do not know for sure why He included children. But He would know of whose spirit those children were. People not of God have "the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, " we have in Ephesians 2:2. Do little babies have this evil spirit which has people mainly concerned about their own selves? Do little children have a natural spiritual ability to fight and scream for selfish things, like how Satan's selfish spirit has adults doing? God knows; He is not fooled. Not only might those children have been infected with the evil spirit of their parents, but God would know if they could have infected the Jews with other items. God knows. If you think you can make Him answer to you, whose spirit has you thinking like this?? "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life." (Galatians 6:7-8) So, be wise about how you invest. Get into living with God in His peace so you are ready to do this for all eternity.  (Apr 20, 2016 | post #18)

Is it meaningful to know Jesus's appearance?

rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (1 Peter 3:4) So, what matters is how we appear to God our Heavenly Father. He desires for us to have "the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is" so precious to Him. And I note how this beauty of His love's "gentle and quiet spirit" is "incorruptibl e". In His gentle and quiet love we can not be corrupted with worry, stress, dominating and dictatorial passions for pleasure, unforgiveness, boredom, loneliness, arguing, and nasty angry reacting. But with Jesus "you will find rest for your souls," He says in Matthew 11:28-30. There are many things witch can attack and violate us, when we start to be quiet. I think this can be because Satan knows that in quietness we can be with God; so Satan uses things like boredom and loneliness and lusts and distractions and worries and memories of hurts and guilt and unforgiveness, in order to make us afraid of being quiet. Only God can defeat these things and bring us into sweet and pleasant intimacy with Him in His gentle and quiet love. But . . . also . . . we need to become personally caring for any and all people. God Himself is personally caring about any and all people; so if we are not, this can have us missing out on how we could be deeply and sensitively sharing with God. Selfish loving keeps us tied up with only certain favorite people, possibly ones we want to use. But God's love does not have us trying to use anyone, but first caring for each and every one. So, while we are unselfishly loving, and not trying to control and use people, we can be personal with God Himself (c: God bless you, too (c: Bill  (Apr 20, 2016 | post #8)

The living breathing reality, still debating fiction as fact

Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." (James 1:27) So, this religion which James talks about is better than an idea, and not the result of fear, but of loving. And this means we do need to keep ourselves "unspotted " from this evil world. One thing of Satan's kingdom is "fear of death". "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear; because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." (1 John 4:18) Jesus on the cross defeated Satan so we can live and love free from fear > Jesus came to this earth in flesh and blood, "that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." (in Hebrews 2:14-15) Many personality torments are rooted in some sort of fear, and Jesus is our cure. But this means we become all-loving in the strength of His love. In God's love we are safe > "And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good?" (1 Peter 3:13)  (Apr 20, 2016 | post #2)

The New Covenant

Because of how people are, we can pick and choose what we believe. We need how God changes our character so we can understand Him right and do His will (c: I think of Mark 3:14 which says, "Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach," (Mar 3:14) So, their calling was not only to do what Jesus told them to do, but "that they might be with Him". They needed to be with Jesus so they could find out how Jesus is and how He loves, I consider. And we, too, need to be with Jesus Himself in us so we have Him as our example of how to be and how to love, including how to personally submit to our Father like Jesus does, while we care for any and all people, having hope for any person. "My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you," (Galatians 4:19) So, Jesus is not only some intellectual subject of word meanings and explanation and arguing. Jesus in us is our example. And we learn from Him > "'Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.'" (Matthew 11:28-30)  (Apr 20, 2016 | post #125)

winning against Satanic memories

Yes, why does Satan keep on doing his stuff, even though he has the proof of how Jesus on the cross defeated Satan? It is not some strange thing, that someone can have proof of one's activities being doomed to failure and yet he or she keeps on doing it. Not only Satan, but humans, can do this. For only one example, there are humans who have been shown what can be the future of their smoking, but they keep on smoking. Why? Our selfish nature is a very bad dictator, Punisher!! Satan was in Heaven itself, but he was not satisfied; so he tried to change Heaven and got thrown out. Even with things so perfect like in Heaven, and with all the loving going on in Heaven, Satan was not satisfied. This shows how unreasonable Satan is > his nature is so unreasonable, that he keeps doing what he does. Notice how Adolph Hitler (according to historical reports) and certain Japanese just could not get that they were beaten, in World War 2. They even committed suicide, rather than accept defeat. So, Satanic people are like the devil, because of his evil spirit > "the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience" (in Ephesians 2:2It isn't only about revenge. It is practical to have fire in hell, because Satan and his are so stubborn, Punisher. Only fire can keep them in control. But our main priority is > "For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." (Romans 8:29) So, most of all, Christianity is about being family with God. Hell is being practical . . . a place to keep Satan and evil and the nasty filth of Satan's spirit of selfishness . . . away from Heaven. And this is partly because Satan and Satanic people would not be happy with how things are in Heaven, anyway . . . because of their own nature making them so unreasonable, so conceited that they do not feel Jesus is good enough for them. Hell is the flaming sewer for unforgiveness, stubbornness, nasty angry reacting stuff, complaining and arguing (Philippians 2:14-16), malice (Ephesians 4:31-32), pride, and drives which are dominating and dictatorial for pleasures. Jesus does not just drive and waste us. Jesus is "gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." (in Matthew 11:29) So, Punisher, the perfect revenge against Satan and evil is how we become gentle and humble in God's love, so Satanic stuff can't mess us any more. God bless you (c: Bill  (Apr 15, 2016 | post #13)

Bad Experiences When Praying

Prayer is not only talking to God, but sensing deeper than words for how He has us be and what He has us doing with Him in His peace. And God's almighty power can make that nasty stuff go away. In the ruling of His peace in our prayer > "the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" > in Philippians 4:6-7. "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15) So, yes we can be with God, in peace and quiet. This can be part of why, when we start to get quiet, we can be violated by attacks of boredom, loneliness, fears and their personality torments, frustration, arguing, complaining, unforgiveness, memories of hurts and problems with people, self-righteous criticizing, depression, and dominating and dictatorial drives for pleasures > these can be Satan's design play to make sure we fear being quiet. Because in true quietness and rest we can be with God. "rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (1 Peter 3:4) So, in prayer be seeking to please our Father, instead of only or mainly being concerned about what we are getting for ourselves.  (Apr 8, 2016 | post #70)
