Markey's "tough" road ahead

I am just as much for letting the Democrats falling flat on their a/ss as I am for the republicans to do the same thing. I say throw both sides of the crooked isle in the slammer. And start over with new blood from America's independent candidates.  (Sep 8, 2010 | post #100)

Is Barack Obama a Muslim?

Perhaps it is my understanding of the question and the motivation behind it. The question is: "Is Barack Obama a Muslim?" This is not a legal question, because in court the burden of proof is the responsibility of the accuser. If Barack Obama is a muslim but the accused "Obama" states he is not. Then in a court the accuser (the one asking the question" would have to state, "I intend to prove Barack Obama is a Muslim." The problem with this questions is no one in America is required to tell another American their religious preference. So after some wondering this topic has become on of a birth certificate. Once a gain the burden of proof is on the accusers. Because you have not been shown a birth certificate does not mean anything, I need proof that Barack Obama is not an American Citizen. As far as I can see there is no proof of deception, so there is no support for there being a serious problem. Most people are basing what they are saying on hearsay and this is really a non topic.  (Sep 8, 2010 | post #125)

Global warming 'undeniable,' scientists say

Looks like someone feels rejected, better call out the national guard and round up all those subversives. Isn't he so cheeky, he know every thing and let me tell you he know so much about science that he got a job at burger king.  (Sep 8, 2010 | post #2267)

How Long Will US Troops Be In Iraq?

http://motherjones .com/politics/2010 /09/tony-blair-mem oir-iraq-george-bu sh Blair's book, A Journey: My Political Life,... ... the meeting Blair held with Bush in the Oval Office on January 31, 2003, less than two months before the war would be launched. During that conversation, Blair told Bush that he needed a second UN resolution that explicitly authorized military action against Iraq, having promised his Labour Party that he would seek one. Blair explained that the resolution—or, at least, an attempt to obtain the resolution—was necessary political cover for him and, according to a memo written by a Blair aide documenting the meeting, "internationa l cover, especially with the Arabs." Bush agreed to try to twist arms at the UN, but he informed Blair that he had already selected a tentative start date for the war: March 10. (Ultimately, there would be no such UN resolution.) But more than politics was discussed. According to the memo, Bush and Blair each said they doubted any weapons of mass destruction would soon be discovered by the UN inspectors then searching for such arms in Iraq. With no WMDs, it could be harder to win support for the war. But Bush had an idea—or two. The memo notes that Bush raised the notion of provoking a confrontation with Saddam Hussein. "The US was thinking," the memo said, "of flying US reconnaissance aircraft with fighter cover over Iraq, painted UN colours. If Saddam fired on them, he would be in breach" of UN resolutions. A retaliatory attack would then be fully justified; the war could begin. Bush also discussed producing some "defector who could give a public presentation about Saddam's WMD." At this meeting, the two men also agreed that it was unlikely that "internecine warfare" would break out between "different religious and ethnic groups" after an invasion of Iraq. This memo was a startling revelation. Here was the US president hinting at mounting a giant con game to start a war: creating a phony incident to grease the path to an invasion. The memo—portions of which were published in the New York Times and in Philippe Sands' Lawless World—does not record Blair objecting to this potential subterfuge.  (Sep 8, 2010 | post #13277)

You sound like a special interest, the people come first, the only other role is to up hold the constitution Of the United States. On the other issues you speak of she is to ask her constituents how they would like her to vote.  (Sep 7, 2010 | post #77)

Following rise in unemployment claims, Obama urges Republ...

I can only agree with you on this, it is time that we quit listening to the bul-lsh-it from both sides and proper blame be given to whom it is due. I think it is time for a major house cleaning and congress cleaning as well. America needs to be given back to its people.  (Sep 7, 2010 | post #58)

Boulder wildfire: Strong winds help wildfire grow quickly...

Yeah, that is right, we are wasting too much money telling people to evacuate their home, let alone the amount of money we are going to waste on fighting the fires. Everyone should just go home and stop all this wasteful spending, RIGHT!!  (Sep 7, 2010 | post #65)

Markey's "tough" road ahead

Hey like.... you know man... which candidate is for legalizing marijuana. I think it would be really cool if they would get rid of that DEA department, you know the one that is spending all that money to put licensed pain physicians in jail man and people with you know like, cancer just have to suffer because the man put old doc in jail, you know man!! It's really not cool. That is some really wasteful sh/it you know. And I really don't care about that global warming stuff, but you know it is really cool far out stuff, you know everyone running around with sunburns freezing their **** 's off. But the coal plants are really not cool and we don't need any more stinking nuclear power plants, hehe but it was kind of cool when jimmy was running around glowing in the dark, it was really freaky when he took a pee, it was like a flash light turned on. But he died really not cool man. But you know like the roads really do su/ck and someone should get out their and fix them. And you know like back in Glenwood Springs when me and Pearl and me what to go up to Aspen we would just jump on the bus and it would not cost anything, it was really cool man. We would just pay a local tax, taxes really su/ck like you know man, but we could just ride it anytime, I never needed a car. But here in Denver I got to pay a tax and then 170.00 a month to ride the bus, and if I want to go somewhere I have to have a car to get where I want to go. It is a really freaked out transportation system here, you know like someone was drinking the Koolaid, like you know man. Polotions really su/ck man, but I have to vote for one if I want to sit on a jury and be respectable, you know someone told me that, and I get a really cool day off of work and sit next to some really hot chick all day. So what was I talking about man, oh well I guess it was not important. Peace man, love, live and laugh man.  (Sep 7, 2010 | post #68)

You just said she is doing her job, that is how government is support to work. She was voted in to office as a representative of her district. She has the responsibility to represent the people of that district that voted for and keep their best interests in mind, and not the interests of all Americans. So I thank you for telling me and all others on this forum that she is doing what she was elected for and is doing her job well.  (Sep 7, 2010 | post #65)
