Motorcyclist Critically Injured
Good God! Did you see how deep of an impact the idiot left on the back of that car?! Yes, he was an idiot, just like last week's Macland Marauder. Of course I have little doubt there will be a parade of "cylists " decrying my choice of words but come on, if torching down the interstate at 100+ mph engaged in a "race" isn't grounds for being labeled an idiot what is? The story didn't mention what, if any, injuries occured to the victim but it's hard to imagine an impact like that without some sort of trauma. Another reason to buckle up! (Dec 23, 2007 | post #3)
Metro Man Charged with Dogfighting
Goodness, it was a very short articlem, did you even read itThis is definately an example of how Michael Vick's brutality had a silver lining. I'm sure I wasn't the only one unaware of this apparently very popular inner city pastime! The Vick case brought attention to this disgusting practice and the average citizen had their eyes opened and was outraged! Good job APD! (Dec 23, 2007 | post #14)
Murphy To Be Remembered Friday
I don't doubt that your an "educator ", what a bunch of esoteric jibberish! For me Tom Murphy represented the entrenched "good ole' boy" club. He and his cronies conducted business and scratched the backs of friends behind closed doors and with little regard for the citizens of Georgia. Regardless, there's no denying that he was a unique individual and left one heck of a footprint on this state. He certainly deserves his spot in Georgia's history. (Dec 21, 2007 | post #8)
Man Dead After Being Shot In A Midtown Home
This story is too sketchy to draw any conclusions or pass judgments about anything other than the grammer of the previous posters.. Man, yall suck! I'm not an English major but I look pretty good compared to the competition. I do like the references to "The Clash", kinda makes me feel young again. (Dec 16, 2007 | post #16)

So, these two were in the WRONG LANE while they were racing down Macland? For Pete's sake will this exonerate that poor woman in the eyes of this crowd? She's undoubtably mentally distraught about an accident that can easily be shown by multiple witnesses had nothing to do with an error in her driving. Call me hateful, wax childish and poke at my upbringing, education, whatever! It doesn't matter to me. It's clear what happened here. Some folks get on a bike and suddenly feel as if the speed limits don't apply, lanes don't apply, common sense and driving etiquette doesn't apply to them. The article states that the two bikers were in their 30's. The fact that they were younger helps explain their irresponsible behavior and does make the final result more tragic. Rain Barrel Maker Swamped with Sales
I don't want to alarm you ABM but there are already companies in the business of making dedicated rain barrells. Screened to repell mosquitos and fitted with water spickets etc.... (I'm an avid gardener and have two personally and have installed some for others) Besides that, I often scratch my head when people complain about an item being manufactured cheaper and thusly more available to the public. Especially in this instance, I mean isn't the general idea to conserve water and tread easier on our water resources? It stands to reason that the more private cisterns in use the better off everyone is, right? It's EASY to convince someone that conservation is a good thing, it's another thing entirely to get them to open their wallet/purse and invest in the solution. Wether it's a hybrid car a solor water heater or a rain barrell, the cheaper the solution is, the more apt people are to use it. (Dec 13, 2007 | post #25)

Goodness gracious!!! I agree that the post you were responding to was mean spirited and callous but come on "CHUCKY" , your violent and threatening response blew him away! Your frightening man, really, it sounds like you need some serious counseling. Once again, this is a public forum. There are ways and places available where those close to the deceased can honor his life. Of course you can do that here too if you choose. You just have to understand that this isn't a memorial or obituary, it's a local news forum and folks are encouraged to chime in with their opinions. (Dec 13, 2007 | post #112)

GET OUT!!! lol What sort of nitwitted statement is that? In case you haven't grasped the notion of a news forum let me fill you in. Articles are written and the public is given an opportunity to respond! You may not like it but that's the concept. This isn't a family/friends "grieving " space, it's a place where ideas and OPINIONS about a story are expressed!! Also, if a person could only comment on a story that he/she were an "eyewitness " too when in God's name could anyone ever comment??! Come on Jane, give me a break. Call me tacky (heck, call me evil) if I felt compelled to write my opinion on some "Memorial " or "Friends of the Deceaced" oriented website. This IS NOT that place! I believe the reports from eyewitnesses and I think the two cyclests were behaving like IDIOTS! For the record. If the two were a couple of teens I might feel a good bit more sympathy for them. It's hard to muster a whole heck of a lot of sadness for men in their thirties putting others at risk by blistering up and down Macland Road! Of course I'm affected by that sort of stuff, juding by your cyber location your quite a few states away? (Dec 13, 2007 | post #109)

Thanks for yet ANOTHER eyewitness response! It's sad that there's a certain species of biker completely unable to accept the truth that some riders do idiotic things and get THEMSELVES killed! Listen, my brother rides a bike, he used to do the local drag circuit in his "Yama-dowg " when he was younger. He's been the victim of a careless driver (Cruising down Fulton Industrial some nitwit on her cellphone decided to change lanes right into him. With almost no time to react all he could do was go into the median where he took a tumble. The story in this case can be told funny, his last thoughts would be some ditzy chick blabbing away on her phone as she ran him off the road. She didn't even realize it). The point being, I KNOW their are plenty of bad box drivers! From all accounts a bad driver isn't the case HERE! Two motorcyclists were behaving like idiots! They could have easily killed someone other than themseves. It's too late for at least one of them, I'm sure he would own up to it and want others to LEARN from it. (Dec 13, 2007 | post #105)

No need to pray, it was dry wit and humor. However you can spare me your tacky self rightious indignation as it was said with a purpose. Your right, what these two idiots did wasn't funny! Their mindless high speed joyriding along a residential strip resulted in one of their deaths and a lot of suffering. I'm taking the accounts describing their actions as factIf you behave like an idiot you tend to get bad results. Say your prayer, but you might want to give thanks that these clowns didn't WAP some innocent kid trying to cross between subdivisions! In case your unfamiliar with the area, there are very clear and conservative speed limits posted along Macland road. I would imagine that if these thrill seekers were abiding by them then this accident would have been avoided. (Of course how much fun would it be to poke along Macland at 35 mph?) It might hurt to acknowledge it, but facts are facts. A complete lack of responsibility brought about these tragic results and at least one of their deaths. Of course I'm not happy that someone lost their life but with any luck one cyclist might learn from it. In any case, I stand by the Darwin nomination..... (Dec 12, 2007 | post #92)
