Motorcycle industry fights crippling law with 4,000 lette...

From the article 'Last week representatives from the Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) delivered nearly 4,000 letters to Congress signed by motorcycle industry professionals directly affected by the lead provisions of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). Intended to keep lead away from young children by banning the metal, except in small amounts, from products for kids 12 years and under the law was passed in February 2009. But caught in the wide net of the law were youth motorcycles and ATV¬ís that contain lead in the brake and clutch levers or the valve stems on tires.' Couldn't really be clearer.  (Feb 23, 2010 | post #2)

'The feel of Harley-Davidson is more than just a T-shirt'

There are an awful lot of extreme opionions given in this forum quick to bash both bikers and Harley (or Karen if you wish) without much acknowledgement to reality or to the facts. As for everyone bashing Karen Davidson, bear in mind she was key, along with hundreds of other women who raised over $60,000 for MDA. BTW these women riders consider themselves in ths same group of bikers being bashed up and down the forum. They, just as all bikers all over the country raise literally millions of dollars for worthy causes and collect presents for chidlren who would otherwise go without over the holidays. Speak to many female riders and many will tell you she (Karen Davidson) empowered them to learn to ride, usually after a life-changing event. What have the bashers done to inspire their fellow citizens? To speak in the way some have on the comments (understanding many are trolling for reactions) based on stereotypes or extreme examples is what seperates not so nice people from those good hearted bikers who accept a person for who they are.  (Mar 15, 2009 | post #29)
