Child in dirt bike-car collision dies
That is sad. I feel for the family. Does not seem fair. (Wednesday Dec 2 | post #3)
The janitor works at NASA too... Maybe a connection? :) (Tuesday Dec 1 | post #56)
Wasn't there was a tax credit for a while on buying a new car with higher mpg or for the hybrids , not related to $4C. I think it was to run to December. I am not worried as much for now as to what could be coming. Barrie may hold the existing tax cuts, but the a group of the Dems want it gone. (Nov 7, 2009 | post #367)
That is usually the cycle. I have not paid too much as to what he says as to what he does. What taxes did he cut so far? I know he dinked with the with holdings on pay checks, but that was not much of a break. $18 a month or so? (Nov 4, 2009 | post #365)
DUDE. It is called sarcasm. IMO, Ron is an idiot, ain't no way I would have wasted a vote on him. I agree there is no free ride. Even the Bible talks about no work, no eat. Usually, the quickest way to drive up employment is to cut taxes. Currently, people are not buying but paying off debt which is still slowing the economy not expanding it. Where has Barrie said he going to keep the Bush cuts? I easily could have missed it. We HAD to pass a econ stimulus "Right now, guaranteed to keep unemployment capped at 8%". Little (10%?) applied to the immediate needs for 2009. Where are the over all REAL unemployment numbers, not the ones that excluded those that just ran out of benefits and gave up that route? Still around 6.5 million. They are bragging about same less than 1 million jobs??? We are going to have to pay for that at some point in the future. $4Clunkers, GM still needs 11.5 more to stay afloat AFTER reorganization and 2 bailouts. Toyota and Ford seemed to fair the best from that fiasco. It only sped up buying with a massive drop in the fall. But, I think once time goes out further, it will average out as a wash. Cost worked out to 24k per car spent according to Edmunds. Heck, it would have been better for the guv'mint to buy some cars for $24k outright and give them out. The laws that Barrie passed on credit card companies is coming home to roost. The fees and interest is going up and harder to get credit before the laws take effect. My rates on the CITI Bank card went up 25% and credit limit went down 25%. I keep a zero balance, never been late. They were not making any money off me, so they are trying to reduce their liability even after the bail out. Currently with the guv'mint running banks, car companies, student loans etc, they control around 40% of the economy. Add another 16% for health care (which does need to be looked at) and that goes over 50% of the economy being controlled by the guv'mint. That goes against every thought of the free enterprise system. Like you have said, we will wait and see... (Nov 3, 2009 | post #361)
