Witnesses: Man killed in officer-involved shooting in Pittsburg

I think that policing and keeping order is a good thing but over-policing does nothing for the excellence of society. We have a serious problem with over-policing here in the East Bay. Somehow, I seriously doubt that this guy reached for the officer's gun. Especially if the officer had their weapon in the semi-ready position. Truth be told, he rammed a cop car that was strategically placed to block his escape, which was stupid as hell, but that gives them every right to start blasting away and the part that really concerns me is that good judgment is no longer executed by officers. Good judgment has been replaced by justifiable action. Furthermore, it's almost as if they antagonize the situations. Race your vehicle in front of someone speeding to get away from you and there's a high probability they are going to hit you on accident. If you give an officer any opportunity to shoot you, they WILL take it and it wont be a single shot to bring the situation under control, they'll riddle your lifeless corpse with bullets until they're thoroughly satisfied your family will attend a closed casket. It's far from uncommon for a "bad guy" to go straight and live a decent life that's productive to society. With situations like these though, it's going to become more and more rare.  (Jun 4, 2008 | post #4)

AP tally: Obama clinches Democratic nomination

I'd bet money it's an African American Obama supporter. It's a cause and effect technique almost as old as politics itself. Note the name, "Cunning ". Remember the civil rights group that had a meeting and a bunch of black baby dolls were hung from the tree at their meeting spot? Then Police later discovered it was done by members of the civil rights group in the first place to drum up support.  (Jun 4, 2008 | post #1046)

Immigration Reform

The Cost of the Invasion is Enormous

Actually, it's up to 2.2 trillion annually now. Not to mention the things you can't put a price on like child-rapes or any rape at that matter, homicides, drunk drivers, kidnappers, home invaders, thieves, gang-bangers, etc ... Check out the California's Most Wanted where 68 of the 72 most wanted individuals are illegal immigrants from mexico. http://ag.ca.gov/w anted/wanted_resul ts.php I'm seeing words like "civil war" posted at several news sites lately. Sounds like Americans are fed up and about to stir up a little civil unrest.  (May 10, 2008 | post #8)

FBI probes counterfeit China computer parts

I think that at this point and time the FBI's efforts would be better put to use in assisting ICE in tracking down some of these illegals. 3.5 million in fake parts vs 2.2 trillion in annual illegal costs.
