If you are a customer of three notch, you know that the men work on the weekends. If not, then you would have to wait for Monday for your lights to be turned on, or restored during storms. These men are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If they stop by alf greene's on the way back from getting your power back on, it should not bother you and it will not effect your light bill.If they are on the work truck, then they are on duty. This does not mean they have to sit at the office and wait for your call. They are called out by dispatchers when needed. You are charged for the kilowatt hours that run through your meter. If your light bill is high, find another reason to complain about it or move to Ga Power.  (Jan 26, 2009 | post #54)

Slander

the bad thing about it? is this is not going to stop any of the slander..because the ones who continue to do it, arent smart enough to know that this is true...  (Nov 21, 2008 | post #7)

Hope Won

No, Henry, the average person in this community does not make 6 figures and like g money said, it would be interesting to track your progress over the next few years, and see what your college education will get you. I am a white woman, 42 years old, single mother with one child. I don't make anywhere near six figures and i didnt get my job because i knew someone. i got it by applying for it and i have kept it by working. something you wil find out soon enough that many people feel like they dont have to do. I make enough to get by , like alot of people in this community, and feel luckier than many in that respect. I have worked at my present job since 1988, and i did not graduate college, but attended for 2 years, and got married. I got a job, like most in this area, who want to have something in life, and are willing to work for it. college degree, or not. I consider myself educated but by no means do i feel that i am smarter than you, or anyone else; that is something i reserve for people that i know personally and deal with on a daily basis. Since i work in customer service, i know the reasons that people give for not paying their bills; some are valid and others are just excuses. you have no idea how many government agencies and churches , even average tax paying "joe's" , who help pay others bills who cannot seem to pay them from time to time. You wait until you get into the work force and see how it feels for you to pay for someone else's bills. Thats right. You are going to be paying their bills, no matter what you think about it now? I can tell you something. When i look at my check stub, and I see how much goes toward my taxes, not to mention the income taxes paid, insurance costs, etc...it burns me up to think of the people that i see, on a regular basis, taking advantage of this system they call welfare, or public assistance, or whatever the name is today. I call it a handout. As i said, i am a single mom. I work. There are times when i struggle to make ends meet, and i make a good salary for this area. I have friends who do not make as much as i do, and i know that they struggle as well. Some of them may even get help with food costs, and health care covered by the state. I do not. It makes me mad as hell to have to worry about which bill i cannot pay, because i have to buy medicine for a sick child or myself, and i do have health insurance thru my job. however, each and every year, our out of pocket costs continue to rise, and we do not always get a big cost of living raise ...I go to the dr. and i see people taking advantage of the system, and getting medication they arent even in need of, while i have to decide whether to even take my child at times to the doctor, because i do not have the extra money to pay for her medications and doctor bills? i go to the grocery store, and i have to stay within a budget, because i know what i can and cannot waste money on. To go into the store, and see someone with a buggy full of food, while i am carrying a little basket of necessities...and watching them pay with an ebt card, after i have balanced my check book, and seen that i have only $40 or $ 50 to last me for a week, including the food i am putting on my table? It doesnt make a damn to me if they are black, white, or orange and purple. The Bush administration did not make things this way. This has been going on for years. It's time for some people to stop making damn excuses, get out and find a job, and support their damn family the way i do. Dont depend on an e.b.t. card, and see how it feels.. Dont depend on Peach care to take your kid to the doctor anytime they sneeze. Get out of college, making your big fat paycheck, and find out just how far that goes. Like g.money , i would love to see you in a few years, and see just what you think about the changes the president and his cronies make...Good luck in your journey, son, you are going to need it.  (Nov 18, 2008 | post #17)
