Cherokee Village Blog

Hi Rapid Cheryl, Thanks to you and others for having my back on this thread. I had not checked in here for a while and I was suprised to see it hanging in there. Thats a good thing. The more its looked at the better. As for RiverSpirit, I am not sure were they are coming from. Code enforcement has been a major factor in the areas that are cleaning up. Yes, there are empty houses, but many are second homes for some retireed people. The ones I am sure he is talking about are on the code enforcements list, and the owners have been notified. As for rough looking neighborhoods, they can be found in any town, and due to code enforcement, it is more like one house here and there. Friendly service here is the norm, and we have made many friends with locals, and residents as well. I do hope RiverSpirit finds contentment somewhere. We love it here and feel blessed to have found such a nice area to live.  (Friday | post #20)

Warning: File your real estate land sales contracts; Land-sales...

rebelman, I beg to differ with you. With exception of land contracts, almost all real estate transactions ARE recorded. When you see all these adds on tv telling people can make big money finding home owners who are willing to take on land contracts to buyers. They are a bit misleading, but the average Joe believes he is dealing with truthfull person. Many first time buyers do not know the importance of a title search. Whenever you use a land contract method to purchase a property, you need a lawyer to make sure it is handled in the right way, and they will be able to tell if the seller is crooked. Even the banks were mislead by not doing a proper title search in this case. Con artists are very good at what they do, to the point that many just believe in his terms and not knowing to do a more detailed check.  (Aug 1, 2008 | post #20)

Cherokee Village Blog

Hi C.V. folks, My wife Lynette and I have lived in Cherokee Village for 8 years now. It is a great retirement area, as well as a diverse group of people from all over the US and some from foreign lands. We have many Churches to choose from. Families are always welcome here, as are people of all ages. We have great schools. We do have a urgent care facility here, that is open from morning to 11 P.M. We as a city, and a new administration, are looking for ways to get a local hospital here with a 24/7 emergency room. This is one of the issues we face here, and is the one that is of great importance to the residents of the quad city area. ( Cherokee Village, Ash Flat, Highland, and Hardy) It is a beautiful area here. Wildlife is is abundant, with birds, deer, and a wide range of others. I am truly hoping this forum is one that takes a positive outlook on the village. I have been a 2 1/2 year member of another forum you may want to research. I was booted off that forum yesterday by its administrator, only because of differing opinions. I followed the rules that he set forth, and never crossed that line. If you happen to look into that forum you will see that he pretty much directs a negative view of our local politicians, and tries the best he can to direct it in a negative way. I am very hopefull that we can build a positive forum here, with differing opinions, but all for the good of all the residents of the quad city, and northeast area of Arkansas. If this would turn into a mud fest as some have seen regarding the river bend area, I would try and form a dedicated forum in another avenue. Please let me know your thoughts and feelings about this, as I do have several people who are in favor of a discussion forum that is proactive. Thanks for reading and God Bless, Chuck  (Jul 27, 2008 | post #2)

spring river beach club

I have no interest in Riverbend, but I do have interest in Wayne Watkins. Forgive me if I am wrong, but didn't the Arkansas A.G. file a lawsuit on Wayne, Virgil Griffin, Clifton Johnson, and Biggers Bluff Corp. This involves millions of dollars. If I were a member of either Riverbend or S.R.B.C. I would not pay a dime to any of these people. These people are in big trouble. Wayne's in Mexico, but I am sure the others know how to get there.  (Jul 11, 2008 | post #238)
