Petition for WV to Uphold the Second Amendment

Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses Jack. Im of a belief that spelling "errors" arent such the tell that you make them to be. We see how the registration in certain areas has caused those gun owners to be treated like sex affenders by posting their names and addresses for public viewing. Also the people leading this gun control surge in Washington have been quoted in previous years ideals that would totally undermine our 2nd Amendment completely. I can dig those quotes up if need be. The idea that restricting exclusively semi auto firearms makes school children that much safer is debatable. Jack I would be on your side of the nobody needs a 30 round magazine for a gun had our Government not been caught up in such actions like Fast and Furious, or passed legislation that has done away with Posse Comintatus. Also the misinformation that protests are the form of low level Terrorism. http://www.aclu.or g/images/general/a sset_upload_file89 _39820.pdf Yes we have the evidence of quotes of such politicians, the bills being passed, and the misinformation of enforcement personnel. Can anyone say red flag, or dare I say false flag? Does these statements make me a crazy? Well in your mind it might, but in actuality it is merely a difference of opinion. A video of a bump fire stock to me makes Feinstein look more like an idiot than Cruz. The ATF has allowed the sale of these stocks for years, and Congress could have easily changed wording to make such stocks defined as a full auto definition. Why didnt she go directly after such a part for modification? I see that stock as dangerous because of the lack of control the shooter appears to have over the rifle while using. The last thing I want is less safety for our children. I do youth outreach at my local Middle School. I couldn't imagine seeing what has happened in other parts of the country to happen here. It is a horrific thought. However, if we continue to render up our rights and freedoms to the state everytime a shooting takes place or a building gets crashed into, we will eventually find ourselves no longer a free people. As for the article about the 2nd Amendment being rooted in racism, I have 2 articles I'd like to share as well. The Klan's favorite law http://reason.com/ archives/2005/02/1 5/the-klans-favori te-law The untold story of Nulification: Resisting slavery http://tenthamendm entcenter.com/2010 /02/10/the-untold- history-of-nullifi cation/ Jack I do appreciate you sharing your thoughts and opinions in a more respectful manner than the others who oppose the petition on here.  (Feb 6, 2013 | post #46)

Petition for WV to Uphold the Second Amendment

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government" -- Thomas Jefferson, 1 Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334 "The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that's good" -- George Washington "The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed." -- Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist Papers at 184-188 "Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act of depriving a whole nation of arms, as the blackest." -- Mahatma Gandhi "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -- Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759. Fact: The malitia was never called (National Guard) until it received funds from the Federal Government in 1903, 102 years after the Bill of Rights was ratified.  (Feb 2, 2013 | post #32)

Yes it was a stupid question, but affective for the purpose the post was even created for. Seeing as how the whole purpose was to get people introduced to the petition, I don't really care if you think a 15 yr old posed it. By the way thanks for the bump by posting to my stupid convo. ;)  (Feb 2, 2013 | post #27)

I have read the literature that proclaims Libertarians to be anarchists. I have found this assumption to be merely a birds eye view taken from someone who never had the desire to be 100% objective in their opinion. Not a single Libertarian that I know including myself would ever desire to see a social system that would cause an anarchist state in our country. The idea of limited government is still a vast contrast to the idea of no government at all. The idea of a government restrained by limitation is exactly why the Constitution was pinned. In our country today Liberalism or at least what modern Libralism has become is bringing us far closer to a fascist state than any other political ideal has in the history of this nation. I would be very various of the places or people by which you are receiving you education from. They appear to be misleading you.  (Feb 1, 2013 | post #19)

I'm still chuckling about being called a Fascist. I guess there is a first time for everything. The fact that all four groups affiliated are working to try to save our republic for falling into a total fascist/socialist mess with no future of prosperity, really makes for a great irony of sorts. Neo-Cons are progressives that pose as concervatives who say concervative talking points and then legislate in manner that undermines the concervative voters who elect them in. The groups involved in this petition are made up of people who are comcerned about the corruption in politics, and choose to equate to more than a Sunday afternoon armchair quarterback. Perhaps people would understand that, if they watch less Daily Show, and Bill Maher. To be honest I don't pay much attention to CNN, MSNBC, or Fox. Where's your stereotype now?  (Jan 30, 2013 | post #12)

Neo-Con Fascists groups? You really don't know what you are talking about do you? It's one thing to spout off labels and talking points. Its another thing to actually be making a valid statement. Ingnorance comes from believing what you are told, and not actually reading up on things for yourself. As for "You are"... When trying to insult someone else's intelligence, it is never a wise to call others names without providing any other substance on an issue. you merely end up looking like the knuckle dragged in the long run. You both serve as evidence of exactly why we are in this horrible shape in our nation today.  (Jan 30, 2013 | post #7)
