Detention Center on ACLU's radar

It is a fact of life the jails often become corrupt and some of the crooks may wear badges. So investigations should be more often and corrupt workers should be placed inside the cells here they belong.  (Jul 23, 2011 | post #50)

ACLU sues NM Sec. Duran on violation of open records

We understand, laws and rules should only be applied to Democrats. So it is okay if Republicans ignore the law. None of this justifies what she did not do properly. Care to explain why it is okay for her to hide evidence of the claims that she made  (Jul 23, 2011 | post #3)

Two Cents: Cost of fires is too high

Steve represents the industries that pay his campaign fees. He's part of the best government that money can buy. It would be nice if once in awhile he actually cared about the people who live in this state for a change. But ordinary people don't have enough money for him to pocket.  (Jul 12, 2011 | post #11)

Columbus officials abolish police dept.

This seems to go in cycles, they create a police department and then they get rid of the police department. So how I get the feeling that some people in Columbus just don't like having any police around. That leaves me to wonder why.  (Jul 12, 2011 | post #1)

Earthling-1, More interesting question is why would Go need any name? Mankind keeps trying to humanize God. Humans have names so we give God one as well. The problem is God is not human and all the human aspects we give him/her are false, including gender  (Jun 29, 2011 | post #11)

USMC Retired, Perfect means without flaw. So if the world was created without a flaw, then it could never become imperfect. Same would be true with mankind. If man was created perfect, then he could never become imperfect. Because among that perfection would be perfect wisdom so that man would always choose to make the best decision. As man does not always chose the best decision, he is imperfect and if imperfect could have never been created perfect in the first place. So the whole Garden of Eden story is illogical from the get go. For whatever reason God decided to make an imperfect world with an equally imperfect group of humans. That being the case man could not have fallen and is more or less just what he is supposed to be. Now with freedom of choice man might be able to improve, and might be able to get worse, but he never had a chance to be perfect  (Jun 29, 2011 | post #10)

Should In God We Trust be removed from money?

stupidpeople, No one is ever required to take an oath under god in our courts. Not that the oath really matters as it has no effect on whether the person will tell the truth, or tell a lie. Just like our congressmen doing the prayer before Congress, it has no affect on how crooked they will be that day. So since neither has any affect, why bother with them? Both are acts of lying. Lets, for a change, only say what we mean and give up playing silly formal games that mean nothing  (Jun 29, 2011 | post #166)

Japan Admits Full Meltdowns at All 3 Nuke Reactors...

Remember we have 27plants just like the one that failed in Japan. Our own Atomic Energy Commision knew of the design problems but decided not to mention it least it destroy the nuclear industry. Several nuclear engineers at GE quite over the design flaws. But we still have 27 of them running, so who knows when we get to have the fun of Japan  (Jun 9, 2011 | post #2)
