Mich. abortions plummet to lowest level since '79

Ah, so we can spend hundreds of billions of dollars on killing thousands of people 50,000 miles away, but the couple million dollars to improve the quality of life for the people in our own country is out of the question. Just making sure.  (May 25, 2008 | post #82)

Apparently in Batch 37's world, more births equal less people. Don't ask me how the math works, because I've tried to work it out on paper and it just doesn't work...  (May 25, 2008 | post #76)

You are quite the humanitarian, aren't you? 'Screw you if your education wasn't good enough or you were born into a poor family! You're not getting any of MY money!' I disagree with the Iraq war, can I stop giving them my tax money?  (May 25, 2008 | post #74)

Oh, so you want to spread STD's and unexpected pregnancy? The public health care that PP offers are things like free STD checks and medication, free birth control (the pill and condoms most commonly, also things like Depo and so-forth). The people who don't have insurance and can't afford it don't deserve it? You think that because they are poor they deserve to spend all that money they don't have taking care of a child they weren't ready to have in the first place? Or that they should suffer and die of AIDS, Hep C or some other STD? You are against the government helping out those in need? My scenario is if you work for the state, not a private insured organization. In my scenario, you are responsible for your mistake, your accident, so even though the state has the means to help you, and should help you, is it their responsibility even though it was your own fault that you fell and broke your back? You don't think that the government should help people who make mistakes in their sex life, so shouldn't that apply to ALL mistakes and accidents?  (May 25, 2008 | post #71)

The federal funding that Planned Parenthood receives are for sexual education and public health services, none of that money goes towards abortion. But hey, if you are against sexual education then you are very much for abortions, as the only thing that can prevent abortions is good and accurate sexual education (abstenance only education is an oxymoron, because that is not education, that is brainwashing). So people who make mistakes are not eligible for government aid? You make a mistake and fall off of a 30 foot ladder while working for the state and break your back, who is going to pay for you? It was your mistake, you fell. Granted you didn't intend to fall, but the government doesn't need to pay for your accident, right? You are the one who chose to work in a potentially dangerous situation, so let your family front all the medical and living costs. It's not the governments fault you had an accident, right?  (May 25, 2008 | post #65)

People do think about it before they decide, they have probably given it a ton more thought than you could ever give them credit for. And don't pull that retarded "your unborn baby could find the cure for cancer!" argument, anyone with more than 15 functional brain cells can see what kind of BS that is. That 'unborn' baby (which is a contradiction in terms, a baby is born, there is no such thing as an unborn baby) could just as easily be the next Ed Gein, Ted Bundy, Charles Manson or Prince, and do you really want another one of those in the world? Let people decide for themselves what is best for them and their life, and don't try to force or play on their emotions to try to get them to think your way.  (May 25, 2008 | post #1047)

Is an acorn an oak tree?

Ok, at first I thought this was a serious posting for a new-ish political party, but it turns out I was wrong. Anyone who would want Chuck Baldwin as their presidential candidate has to be pulling a prank or tryign to dupe the gullible republicans. I mean, come on, who would take Chuck Baldwin seriously?  (May 25, 2008 | post #35)

It's not what you said? Please, explain the dialoge thenThenTo which you repliedSo you are saying that in vitro fertilization is the same as abortion, as embryos with unique DNA codes are thrown away. And since you want to criminalize abortion that would mean you want to criminalize in vitro fertilization. You may not have said it in so many words, but anyone who can read between the lines can see exactly what you are saying. So, how is that not the message you were trying to get across?  (May 25, 2008 | post #33)

Can you disagree with abortion but still be PC?

Thanks, I'm very much looking forward to it. I'll put an updated picture of the little one and I up soon. :) Glad to be back (and even better to be remembered)  (May 25, 2008 | post #25)

It isn't a matter of being 'worthy to live', it is a whether or not the pregnant girl is ready to be a mother. A 15 year old homeless girl isn't ready to be a mom, she can barely take care of herself, much less a baby. But that is just one part of the argument, the big point about being Pro Choice is whether or not you believe a women as a say in what happens to her body. Pro Choice believe a Womans body is her domain and no one can tell her what she can do to it, Pro Lofe believe that women do not have or deserve a right to their own reproductive organs.  (May 25, 2008 | post #24)

Oh, I can tell you're going to be funYes, condoms are easily accessable, but are not 100%. Yes, other forms of birth control are easily accessable, but not 100%. Even combined birth control methods can produce a pregnancy. So, by your standard if someone is responsible and takes the precautions but still gets pregnant they don't deserve a 2nd chance? And yes, there are many people out there who are irresponsible with their sexual activities which does result in some unexpected pregnancies, but you apparently think that everyone only deserves one chance, right? Make one mistake and that is it. No 2nd chances. In your opinion, those little sluts are getting what they deserve, rightI was saying that I live in reality, and I know what it takes to survive on your own in this world. Most of the PLM don't have a clue because they, for the most part, have had everything handed to them. They have no idea what it is like to struggle or to face a truly difficult decision. They have no idea what these young women go through when they walk through the picket lines into the abortion clinics. The PLM believes that it can solve all of Americas problems by forcing 14 and 15 year old girls to become Moms. They are wrongSorry, allow me to rephrase using smaller words. Most people in America don't know what true struggle is. Late on a couple credit card payments is the worst that they know. What you and most of your Pro Life cohorts know about the real world and the struggles of the youth in our own nation could fill a Dr. Seuss book. You people do not know what it is to make such a difficult decision, and you never will. But you sit on the corner and judge anyway. Oh, how rightous you are from your high horseDid you? I'm sorry, but I must have missed it. Could you repeat it for meYou apparently have a poor grasp on the english language, so I will go ahead and ignore this part. Trying to explain it to you would be more effort than it is worth.  (May 25, 2008 | post #23)

So you want to criminialize abortion and in vitro fertilization? So not only are you punishing people for making a mistake and being a human being, you want to prevent infertile couples who want children to be unable to produce them as well? Sounds like you want absolute control over what happens in every womans uterus. Why do you think every vagina is your vagina?  (May 25, 2008 | post #29)

What do fetuses and terminally ill have in common?

sigh* See, this depresses me. I am really wanting someone from the PLM to engage in an intelligent, respectful, and logical debate, but unfortunately, the vast majority of them (at least on this forum, I don't know if this is the standard everywhere...) aren't interested in taking the opposing sides view points into consideration, but trying to demonize and criminalize them. And that is just sad, when a large group of adults are incapable of having adult conversations. *le sigh*  (May 25, 2008 | post #20)
