New Livermore Cab Service?

No. I'd ride my own bike before being so lazy as to call someone to ride one for me.  (Sep 12, 2010 | post #2)

golden spoon in livermore

It's one of those trendy yogurt spots like the one they have downtown. I would imagine that they closed due to lack of business since that'a luxury item for most and we're in some pretty bad times. Just my guess though...  (Sep 12, 2010 | post #3)

Tim Hunt: BART route prompts understandble concern for pr...

I think it's a must that the voting residents of Livermore actually have a say in the final decision of Livermore BART. The city council just seems to be pushing this through with only their own agenda in mind. This deserves a vote just as the waste of a theatre deserved a vote. Do what's right. If it's such a great idea then you shouldn't have any problem getting the necessary votes to pass the measure.  (Sep 12, 2010 | post #1)

Need for a local paper that prints police reports, etc.

Much like most newspapers and magazines it would tank and tank fast. Let's be honest, do you really care who the 2009 homecoming queen was? Honestly I don't. I didn't care who it was when I was in high school. As for the police incidents I think that it would be beneficial for them to be posted on the LPD website but it won't happen. No crime reported = no crime in the city. Kapeesh?  (Mar 31, 2010 | post #2)

Mail Service in South Livermore

It's the holidays and as usual USPS is understaffed. If your mail shows up daily then be thankful. There's no set schedule for mail delivery.  (Dec 8, 2009 | post #2)

BART to Livermore could draw up to 31,000 riders a day

My call for BART to be North of 580 was simple enough. 1. There is wide open space North of the freeway. With more space hopefully they can build some sort of community around the plans instead of trying to rework an established community around BART. Are they going to move the housing in Pleasanton? Are they going to move the golf course? Are they going to move the former CSAA building and surrounding businesses? Are they going to move the airport? Are they going to move Wal-Mart, Target etc? Now look acrossed the freeway. Hmmmm...This would be the perfect time to actually INCREASE awareness of what Springtown is and with a master plan in place could be. It would guarantee new development, sports park and businesses. Currently no one in Springtown actually lives ON the freeway and there is much more open space to plan properly. 2. UCBC (University California Behind Costco) is North of 580. Providing access to UCBC would help if they ever attempt to make it an actual 4 year school. Again, that's a master plan that Livermore seems to rarely take into it's thought process. 3. Let's be honest, the south side of Livermore is the established area with higher home values. Money talks and right now Springtown doesn't have much of a voice compared to the southside. Don't believe me? Look up home values in both areas and come back with your findings. Let it be clear that I am against BART in Livermore all together but when it comes right down to it, Livermore does what Livermore wants with little to no regard for what the citizens actually want. Please see the new theatre for further details...  (Dec 8, 2009 | post #14)

BART to Livermore could draw up to 31,000 riders a day

BART downtown will be a disaster. Traffic, noise pollution, increase in crime, unattractive and overall just a bad idea. It's not like the upper class that Livermore would like to cater to is going to be on those trains. Keep BART on 580 and have 1 stop at the new outlets being built and 1 stop out on Vasco. Both on the North side of 580 I might add. It's terrible to think that the benefits of my BART tax go to hpeople who chose to move out of the bay area and then complain about the commute. If you want to work in the bay area, live in the bay area and don't cry about it. If you choose to live 60+ miles away from work then don't complain about traffic. It was your choice to make the move. I'm with ANON and JOE B.  (Dec 7, 2009 | post #11)

Livermore PW Market lost to recession

Still as clueless as ever.... Actually the residents of Livermore who voted down the residential expansion project in Springtown are to blame. The PW was built with that plan in mind and it was shuttered. That cost PW thousands of potential customers. Sure the economy is partly responsible but a quick view shows that Bush inherited problems that began in the Clinton years when he decided that everyone in the US had the right to purchase a home despite their actual earnings. Blame Bush. It's easy to do for the non-thinkers  (Nov 17, 2009 | post #16)
